Good morning Nairalanders, let me share this very risky experience with you all, so yesterday I was chatting with a friend so he asked me to come over to watch Arsenal Match in his place so I quickly took the car key and off to an area in lagos ( Name withheld) so after one hour I got there and he strictly asked me to park inside there compound that was secured with a gate, so afterwards we were gisting on the balcony and all. Then I noticed a lot of people where passing-by because there was a party going down the street about 10mins walk away.

Then after a while this SUV jeep parked infront of my friends building like some metres away but facing the building he called my attention to the 2 guys coming down from the car because they were putting on Arsenal jersey and he was making jest of me like, 'See your people, when una don see small team na hin una dey wear jersey upandan' we both laughed and this two guys walked straight down to the party and we were still waiting for Arsenal match to start.
After the match we came back on the balcony talking about the tense match and all and this guy was constantly just talking about how lucky we were, I just smiled because my voice was gone already. Then it happened, this dude on Jean and black jacket came to the SUV inserted a key and got in the car, and sat down inside for about 10mins then came down walked to a cool spot that was close to where the car was parked sat down and was having a Fanta. Me and my friend was like, maybe this guy came to meet them or something because he was confident enough to open the car and came down again.
After the dude finished his Fanta, he came back to the car opened it, got in and drove off slowly. We just continued our argument. Then the bombshell happened after 1 hour. My Arsenal friends came back and were shouting and searching for the car that was when we realized this was actually a car theft, Police were invited and people around were asked questions including the lady who sold Fanta to the guy and she was arrested ( Imagine ) after we saw this and the police came to ask us to come down too and tried asking us if we saw anything, we said we just got home about 5mins away lol. ( Police is your friend)

But I was amazed at this guy's confidence mhen.

N:B when you go to a new area and you parked far away always take a walk where you parked after every 30mins or 1 hour, open the car and just take what you don't need inside the car so people around would know the real owner it actually looked like a nollywood movie but mhen that was real. I asked my friend why he insisted I parked inside and he said it was just because a party was going on and they might block me if I am ready to go.

But this guy's are confident o..

Nice write up.

We need to be more security conscious. That's why steering locks and other security measures are always needed on our vehicles.

I hope they apprehend the thief.

Describing what you witnessed could help in recovering the car but for police abnormal investigation tactics that you avoided.

Citizen loses when institutions don't function efficiently.

Our police are not reasonable. Imagine arresting a fanta seller. Thank God u didn't tell them anything. That's why people don't give information to police, they reason with their anal cavity

Most times this sorta car are used for operations and they would just abandon the car far away like the eastern or northern part of the country

When the angry mob finally catch them in their next operation some ppl will now come here and say they are only suspect and they should not be burnt

No one will imagine the pain they will cause the owner

I can remember the guys face vividly and I was discussing with my friend yesterday that if this guy was apprehended now and jungle justice was performed. They would say people are wicked, if you see the way the owner of the car was crying like a small boy ehn! You would understand what he clearly went through in getting the car.

This elderly man sat on the floor and started crying like a baby saying that car is the only property he has in his life and that his what he use to feed his family
