TheGoodJoe:Funny enough I feel nacho would be more productive playing a free roaming role. I would love to see that. Cos this issue of striking by force, we have other strikers. Nice suggestions though |

joseph1013: Trying to force his way through. Russia to Onyekuru while Celtic is on the table is equivalent to refusing to sell him. The club tried to sideline the agent. Left the young man with no choice but fight the only way he knows how. The window is closing. |

Lazyerudite: We have other strikers but my personal choice is to play with blistering pace up front. Until Osimhen is ready, Nacho is our fastest option up front. With pacy side forwards in Victor Moses and Simon Moses, we can wreck many sides. Mikel and Iwobi Orchestrating play behind them. |

Lemme take a cue from the thread's arch-guardian of experience, Sir Icon4s himself... On Nwakali Kelechi, I have always said that he is the future of our midfield and most likely heir to Mikel's throne as Super Eagles midfield generalissimo. But for now, I think he should wrap up his season with maastricht firstly as there's no need to rush and we are well covered in Midfield. After his first professional season, we should start giving him major invites for official games. But for friendlies, well... He can still be called up even before the season is over. I foresee Nwakali and Osimhen breaking into the Super Eagles shortly before Russia 2018. Lazyerudite: |

Lazyerudite: Depends on how long the contract is. The agent can find another deal. What is sad is that from the report, Celtic made a good offer. Or they take the case to FIFA. I feel Eupen are destroying the relationship. |

Quick question.... My mouth waters anytime I think of Nacho and Osimhen. When Osimhen is ready, where will Iheanacho now play since you picked Iwobi as no.10? TheGoodJoe: |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 7:27pm On Jan 26, 2017 |
Okay.... Mine is actually similar to Sir TheGoodJoe's but lemme just drop it with a few added details. For no. 2 role: Musa Mohammed seems to be picking up gametime at Basekhehir of late which is good for us. But Tyrone Ebuehi is still in the picture and doing good in Holland (only doesn't have a cap yet). But in the long run, I think this role will be taken by Moses Odubajo of Hull City who is expected to return to action by April. Injuries have delayed his debut for the Super Eagles and I feel with more time after his comeback, his quality may see him take that no.2 spot. Don't forget Brian Idowu shaa... His form is also good For no.3 role: We are short on quality options here. Echiejile remains our "undisputed" best here. Brian Idowu can also play leftback but Echiejile is still our best. The other options we have are all kinda inexperienced and have lots of rough edges to their defensive game and experience is kinda important when it comes to defence. Examples, Kingsley Madu, Stanley Amuzie, etc. For the no.9 role: Until Osimhen is ready, Iheanacho leads. This is the truth. Ideye, Ighalo, Kayode, Nwakaeme, Junior Ajayi, and any other no.9 don't really boast goals-ratios or performance index up to that of Nacho in that role. For the no.10 role: Iwobi takes it for me for now but I know Mikel will play this role as captain. For now, it's between Mikel and Iwobi if Both Etebo and Onazi/Ndidi must start. But if it is an onazi-mikel, then Iwobi plays as no.10 with Nacho upfront. So that's it. Lazyerudite: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: My mind still drifts back to Iheanacho's curling goal against Mexico at UAE. If Osimhen achieves the kind of form we expect in a few years time, he plays the nine role. Nacho plays from the right. In a similar fashion Messi plays in the MSN trident. V. Moses also plays well from the left. He can play as an inverted left forward too. Striking with his right like Hazard. While Nacho strikes with his left. Iwobi still Orchestrates. By then, I expect K. Nwakali to take Mikel's role. While Chidi Nwakali and Ndidi battles for the four. Frightening we have remarkable talents who will still compete for places in the team. Like Nwobodo, Okonkwo etc. |

I pray these major actors really get better as time goes. In all, I think I like this better. Actually Nacho did play from the right sometimes during tactical switches at UAE 3+ years ago while Yahaya drifted to the middle... So yeah, he surely can coz of his sweet left foot. More like an inverted right wing forward akin to messi but uhmmm... Nacho needs lots of work to reach that level shaa. Well, it's the rise of Africa's next super dominant force. A lot are waxing lyrical coz of Senegal at this Afcon but I'm saying Africa will see a much better and stronger side in our team when the Super Eagles' current generation matures a bit more within the next two years. Moses_____ ___________________Mikel_____________________ __________Etebo___________Ndidi______________ __Echiejile________________________M. Hahahahahaha.... It happens joor... Not ya fault. If Onazi/Ndidi-Etebo axis starts then Mikel must play no.10 role and he's still the boss even though he will now be exposed to Kung-fu and shaolin soccer.... Loollll *True Class is permanent * Our team is still evolving and I still marvel at the quality options we have in the various positions in midfield and attack. Such options can make one forget one or two key players sometimes. TheGoodJoe: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd:Now that you have mentioned the bolded portion. I feel we should modify the topic of the thread slightly to ''The New Super Eagles Thread: Russia 2018, AFCON 2019 and The Dawn of a New Era" or may be we wait till the end of the of 2018 world Cup to create a new thread. I have decided to raise this issue now, because after a while, it might become very difficult to modify the topic of the thread. Thank you. CC: All Parliementarians. |

TheSuperNerd: Yup. They are definitely not the best team in the tourney but they are very technical. I was quite impressed with the way they contained ghananese yesterday. Ghana huffed and puffed but the Pharaoh kept them at bay, with their counter attack tactics. They have a good coach. |

joseph1013: I can not remember a replica scenario. However, Players have forced themselves out of the club and the news of Eupen forcing him to change his agent does not paint the club in a good light. If it was your club and it happened, I do not believe you will want the scenario escalating. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:24pm On Jan 26, 2017 |
Good one there Sir Terzurum5.... Remember I spoke about this on the previous Super Eagles thread before we started this Dawn of a new era thread. I said we will witness different metamorphosis stages of our darling team as Post-Russia 2018 will lead to Afcon 2019, Afcon 2021 and Qatar 2022 and beyond (and each event must have their unique threads so that we keep things about out team well organised and well documented in this section for future references for upcoming generations). I think we have two options: 1). Modify the topic slightly to include "Afcon 2019" as the afcon 2019 journey begins soon this year with the qualifiers After which, post-Russia we create a brand new thread for the Afcon 2019 exclusively. After which more threads follow. 2). Create the Afcon 2019 thread "now" strictly for just nations cup news with respect to the Super Eagles as Russia 2018 marks our super eagles new generation "baptism of fire" on the international stage while Afcon 2019 which comes after Russia 2018 represents how far the team have matured in its quest to rule Africa for the next couple of years. Either way, we must be out to organise the archival threads here on NL sports. That should be our goal so as not to cluster the information all into just one place. As usual the final decisions rest with the elders and Super OPs:::: Cc: Sirs Tbaba1234, Icon4s, Joseph1013, Terzurum5, Orkpekyandega, TheGoodJoe BascoVanVeli, Chrisooblog, Napoleaon55, Icon79, AIG07, Mikron, Blackalbino06, NLban, Justiz5, Goldfish80, Kog45, LazyErudite, Chriskels, Mickael2, Edi287, Komekn, Forgiveness, etc.... Well, check out these quarter final pairings... Hard to call isn't it? Egypt stand a good chance of winning it if they scale past a very good moroccan side. Burkina Faso vs Tunisia Senegal vs Cameroun DR Congo vs Ghana Egypt vs Morocco This Afcon is very interesting.... *rubs palms* Icon79: 2 Likes |
