Good day people, I need help from experts. I have access to some funds, and I want to go into poultry large scale (at least larger than I was doing before). I have a pen to use already, I just want to have an idea of how much it would take me to raise 500 day old broilers to maturity.

I know 500 day old broilers would cost me about 100k, but what of the other expenses?

#How much for feeding them from 0 to 8 weeks?

#How much will I spend on drugs?

#If I want to get a helper in a place like Ibadan, how much will I pay the person monthly?

If I am to buy, I would do for RTO marshal or Zartech Cobb 700 .

Feeding for 500 broilers depending on breed

0-4 weeks = 30 bags of 25kg
5-8 weeks = 40 bags of 25kg
9-10 weeks= 30 bags of 25kg

The Cobb 700 is the most efficient breed available while Marshal is known for been tall and heavy weight

You are right to an extent but he has only raised noilers and I think cockerels to my knowledge. He is looking for a more accurate answer from those into broilers as their feeding patterns are different

Thanks. That's what I had in mind. And about the breeds, are you sure Amo broilers are that fast growing? And what else can you say about the RTO breed? Actually, the people I plan selling the birds too would love very white and tall birds- that's my target. I am looking for the broiler breed that can give me these results.

My advice is go for obj marshal u can find out the result from those who have tried it.
It gives pure white colour very good height and massive body weight
For ur cost from Doc to 10wks budget 1300 on each bird this budget will allow u to feed ur birds massively anytime they are hungry for very good market result I don't believe in quantity per wk consumption in broilers cos the more they are able to eat the more profitable they are in the shortest target time but when u put them on feeding target it's not the best cos u will contribute to slowing down their growth when they are ready to grow faster

So the budget I gave u covers the cost of Doc, drugs and and any other direct cost. But Howfar with recent feed hike the cost my move up as feed goes up.

Though the least market value at 10wks with my experience so far 2000 that's the small ones remember this price is for clearance sales to market women and if ur selling at leisure it's almost double the pricing anyway until u chat me

Bros take my advice, raising 500 birds isnt the challenge, anyone can do that, selling them is the challenge, before u venture into broilers on a large scale you must be absolutely sure you can sell them, no market woman will count her 1800 to buy broilers from you except its for festive season, so go round first,get your target market that you are very confident will buy so you dont end up feeding grower fEed to your broilers to cut down on cost like I did once upon a time, just budget 900 per bird off season and 1200 for festive periods so u could make profit.cheers

He already has his market, you are just starting out, first start out by sourcing your target market, if its market women thats your target, do a survey, go meet them and ask them how much they buy and the quantity etc, go to more than one person, trust me its not easy but its worth it, better to sweat in peace time, if u r targeting people you know to help you network also know that u have to give them some incentive to motivate them and thats from your profit, but I dont know your location but from now to march there are plenty of broilers in the market, and the demand is low,so simple economics law of dd and ss will give you your answer, forget my plenty grammar what u simply need to do is go to your market whether market, shawarma, barbeque joints, hotels, caterers ask them how much they sell to get an idea how much they buy as some ll be reluctant with that information saying that they cant price what they dont see, I wish u all the best but please dont experiment with more than 200 birds to start out with
