As a lecturer, you must have PhD, except if you assistant lecturer which means PhD in progress. Your case is best with express entry. I am sure you will meet up. Don't waste your money on study and study visa

I am currently running a masters program here but not thru with it. thinking of abandoning it and applying for another masters in canada as this my present masters program has some complications.
my ielts score is 6.0 n I didn't qualify for u of s. waiting for u of regina and u of manitoba.
manitoba is course based and regina is coop.both research and course work. thinking of adding simon fraser uni to it shud I just go with the two schs and forget abt simon fraser or shud I add simon fraser.
can I apply for the PR without my masters as I'm not thru with it.
Pls what do you think.
thanks

try and stay back in lagos , if you pass your medicals you may get your passport request within a week.

This information is not reliable. No one can predict the activities of VOs particularly the timeline for reviewing an application. It may be a week as you've said, it may be longer than that. In fact most passport request after a medical call takes average of 3-4 weeks.

Be properly guided.

@Adonai
As you have stated that he was givien 14 days to complete the medical , so let him do the medicals fast. The timeline after medicals is not known but may not be beyond 2 weeks provided the test is passed.
I haven't heard of any case where CIC mandates payment of school fees, if its not required by the school.

Except where the admission states the date when tuition is to be paid and the date has passed or is about to...instances like that you may expect reaction from cic regarding concerns about tuition fees.

Thank you 4 all ur contributions on this thread. Pls with a Bsc marketing (4.40) n a diploma / prof certificate in HR (CIPM), can TRV favour me if am going 4 masters in HR?
Just as @QuantumMove01 pointed out, going for a master in HR will favour you considering your qualifications. However, I also will advise you pen down your aspirations and after-study plans in this field with a good SOP so in the long run, it clearly defines your passion in this area. By so doing, you would have sold yourself to a VO to also see the potentials you would be taking to Canada.
I believe they will be looking out for that too as every applicant is treated as a potential permanent immigrant and possible citizen irrespective of all the formalities of home ties and returning to home country.

By the way, your CGPA is commendable. Weldone! Got your master admission already?

Answer to que 1 : apply to as many schools as you can afford and qualify for. Write a good SOP too, and remind your referees for recommendation letter. Make sure your UG project supervisor is among your referees. All the best

Answer to que 2: I am a curious learner when it comes to PR. You can see I am also in the info gathering stage of that. Shalom!

Please house, I jus started following this thread and am happy at all the information am being privy to right on this forum.

I hav the intention of schooling in canada but ultimate at the top of dat is to settle there at the end of my program (MSC), I want to believe that is most peoples aim considering what Nigeria is like right now. However my fear is if it will be possible considering all the stringent rules that CIC has about overstaying ones visa and all the rest of it.

I sure do know about the Post graduation work permit and the rest of it all. My reservation however is after it expires and one hasnt been able to secure a job or ur employer does not apply for an open work permit for you. What happens?

I really do not have anybody in canada and I plan on sponsoring myself with the little money that I have.

Your advice and contributions will be really appreciated.
Good that you are already doing your 'permutations and calculations' but there is such a thing as the FIRST and RIGHT steps towards seeing all your desire come to feasibility.

Firstly, as impressive as it is that you are informed about after study and all (hopefully, you find the best path to your canadian dream), you must also plan and ensure you at all times don't find yourself on the wrong side of the law otherwise, your whole dreams and desire will be marred right before your eyes.

CIC always clearly state out their processes, applicable conditions and penalties to all immigration related issues on their website, it will guide you at all times.

I don't think you'll be fair to yourself to start now worrying about what will happen or what will not happen. Make a good step first by investing and improving on yourself through their education if you can afford it (assuming you choose the study route) and EVERYTHING is possible from there.

Alot of people too do not have anybody in Canada but choose what is best for them and take their own destiny into their hands while doing their possible best in their endeavours but this is not to say you shouldn't be realistic in your intentions. What works/worked for one may not necessarily be directly applicable to another as life's journey and destination will not always give to us what we deserve but what we DEMAND out of it.

My advise will be that you first identify what will add to you and better prepare you to solve problems and profer solutions to help humanity and also bring you to your point of fulfilment while being a strong force to reckon with. Trust me, you would live to share some of the greatest testimonies of your life! Na dem go dey find you!

Once you set your priorities right and make a BOLD step, God will always crown it! Make a GOOD move first and forget the rest. Favours never leaves diligence the last time I checked!
All the best!

Pls kindly go ahead there is no harm in doing that, it will only help ur app, I paid a yr tuition fee for my 2yrs program. it will only ease financial stress in the eyes of VOs and never a guarantee for issuance of study permit.

Hello good people. I have been reading in the background lately, the numerous educative posts on this thread. I commend the great work you guys are doing here.
I need someone to kindly attend to my question.

In a case where a prospective student tells the VO that he has no intention of returning to the home country after graduation, what could be the possible outcomes of the interview?

BTW a news from NYT today: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/01/26/world/canada/international-students-canadian-citizenship.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0&referer=http://m.facebook.com/

I believe outrightly telling a VO that you have no intention of coming back to your home country whole applying for a temporary visa guarantees your rejection, especially when coming under the student permit route. Don't get me wrong, they also know that more than half of those who are able to gain the visa would probably not return to their home country, bit starting outrightly on your application most probably guarantees you refusal. My opinion though I may be wrong.

For charges, fees and procedures, see here http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria/Service_and_Service_Charge.html

For upfront medicals, find the approved hospitals here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx
Call or email the hospital closer to you and they will advise you better.
