When are we going to stop playing with lives of people in this country? That is why I keep thanking God for preserving my life till today. I had a fatal accident on Lagos Island and God gave insight to the security man who rescued me to rush me to Saint Nicholas, even when he didn't know that he was taking me to one of the best hospitals in Lagos. No doubt, if I was taken to any of these public hospitals, I couldn't have made it because it was a thorough battle between life and death which required people with commitment to their responsibilities. May God help us! |

ObiOmaMu:Surprise One out of so many negligence happening in government hospitals. Death means nothing to them anymore. Visit the government hospitals unannounced you will hear the ones more surprised than this I must commend former Governor Raji Fashola. During his tenure he himself carried out unannounced inspections. He made a lot of changes and the standard of the Lagos State hospitals improved tremendously. I hope to see a continuity in Ambode's regime before it goes back to how it was before Fashola's intervention.

I always remember this quote anytime I read things like this. ''Doctors will have more lives to answer for in the next world than even we generals." - Napoleon Bonaparte. I've seen my brother in-law's niece opened up by doctors in LAUTECH OGBOMOSHO before under the claims of one of her kidneys was damaged. only to open her up by very unprofessional rotten doctors and discovered the KIDNEY was very intact. Before the visiting consultant nephrologist could walk into the theatre, they have cut off the kidney. The pretty lady walks around with one functional kidney and one cut and paste kidney as i type this. It actually happened 2015. God help us. 2 Likes |

Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu who is known for his comedic acts has opened up on one of the sad details of his life. The Nollywood actor during an interview with Punch revealed how negligence on the part of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, doctors caused the death of his 2-year-old son. Mr. Ibu revealed that the incident happened right after his 2-year-old on was released from the den of kidnappers. He said: “The matter was actually between the Paediatric Department of the hospital and me. It was in 2011. My wife and our two-year-old son had been kidnapped. After I paid the ransom demanded and they were released by the kidnappers, I returned to Lagos from Enugu. “Then on January 18, 2011, my son fell ill. He was diagnosed with inflammation of the liver. The hospital suggested that he should be scanned. At the same time, I was informed that I could take my son out of the hospital to get the scan done elsewhere. But the same people later declined, saying that everything had to be done in the hospital because he was too weak to be taken outside. “After a while, I was told that there was no electricity in the hospital. When I asked if there was no standby generator, they said there was no fuel in it. I offered to pay for fuel only to be told that the man that operated the generator was not around. When I left the place and got back later, the man still had not returned. Then I was advised to write an application and to submit to the admin department.” Mr. Ibu continued that after writing the application, there was nobody to treat it and he later got to find out that his son needed blood blood transfusion which along with other things were not attended to till the boy eventually gave up. He said: “That was how my son died. Later, one of the doctors came to me and, without even sympathising with me, asked if I could release my boy’s corpse to him so that they could cut it open and use it to teach other medical students. In that moment, I felt like committing murder for the first time in my life. “When I told my lawyer what happened at the hospital, he was shocked. He said it was actionable. I told him that I was ready to take the hospital management to court and sue it for $100 million in damages because my son’s death was caused by the carelessness of the professionals whose duty was to save his life. But my lawyer advised me to let g.o.” 1 Like |

there was one LUTH story of a man who was at the point of death being ;pushed with a wheelbarrow, because there was no stretcher and them denying him oxygen or something in that horrific realm, like making him to starve for a week because he should not eat before surgery, something barbaric and savage like that, i resolved that i would rather go to Togo if i was enough to need General Hospital services, the savagery of the doctors in LUTH have long been documented, if we had a government maybe the hospital which i think operates like a the worst most bureaucratic public office i have ever read of should be scrapped, but hey, we have donkeys as leaders who don't know their left from right... so never be poor or destitute in Nigeria, you would rather be dead |

Not surprised...! There is no such word as professionalism in this country. People just do/act the way they like. No one could tell the where about of the keys to such an important segment of the hospital, and this is a place supposedly studded with professionals/experts; probably they all had gone to their private hospitals, leaving the auxiliaries in charge. These days, Nigerians go to the hospitals not to save their lives, but to get themselves killed. Take ur loved one who is ill to the hospital, and some of these nonchalant hommies kills him off. No thanks to their unprofessional conduct though... It's a pity... 1 Like |
