I was at US Embassy for EducationUSA orientation last month, the VO spoke with us. He said there is nothing wrong in applying to attend a community college. He said people should not be scared to do that if thats what they want.

Na wetin im talk oooo.

The VOs are trained to talk in a certain way especially in public.

You couldn't ask him why CC candidates are being denied visas more than the university candidates. LOL, did you go there for sightseeing?

Incredible, people shouldn't be afraid to apply to CCs, as if he hasn't denied them visas before. EducationUSA is perhaps overrated.

Thanks so much for your suggestion bro and God bless you, looking to put in for fall admission in Cleveland state university OHIO or Lincon state university Oakland CA , all other top schools needs , things like me providing my CV, writing essay, Resume , and maybe interview as well, all these ain't problem for me if I see someone that would put me through on how to go about it, example OHIO state university neeeds all these have listed before admission could be considered

lol c'mon this is a joke isn't it. A person who scores 323 on a GRE, a person who has supposedly finished a bachelors degree, needs to be "put through" on how to write a CV, write an essay on your research/ graduate school interests, how to write a resume and approach graduate school interviews? You're the poster child for the complete failure of the Nigerian school system.

Good afternoon by the way. cheesy

Sure, some top schools waive TOEFL, bear in mind that TOEFL and GRE serve diff purposes. Some schools would request for both. So check the school's requirements well. If its not clear on their website, mail them and ask.

Awesu122:

Another help coming from another person I don't know thanks so so much once again, you just conquered my fear I would check for samples and see how it goes , moreover does some top schools give TOEFL waver in lieu of GRE ? That another question very important to me , please I await honest response

In all honesty, Twoods might not be passing across his point well or the way you want it but then we all cant deny that we don't get his point and 90% of the time he's right. This forum is for us to help each other but then, people come here with ridiculous questions that makes one doubt there intellect. How can you be asking people for how to write a resume? SOP? schools suggestion? I have said this times without number, even a student in that particular department doesn't know the exact situation of funding in his/her department. Only the grad coordinator does and you should make him/her your best friend.A simple email will clear your curiosity, i can remember then when someone said funding in LSU is surer than Jesus 2nd coming, i send email tire..it was after admission the grad cord told me no AA and you must pass LSU English proficiency exam before you can be offered a TA, having in mind that RA are offered by individual faculty. If i had asked the grad coordinator this question and not just a random student that has alot going through his/her mind, i would have gotten this info and i wont waste my time and resources applying.

Its always good to do all these research yourself and come back here with your findings, this is how a serious student behave e.g ''please I found these schools bla bla bla, what do you guys think about so so and so''. A simple google search will give you samples of sop, resume and good letter of recommendations you can work with, then you can ask people to help you go through it. We all need to be proactive, not every time looking for someone to spoon feed you. All the best to the Fall hopefuls, by now you should be resting and praying for all your applications.

Have some sleep? Really? It's day break in Nigeria. For one who claims to be in US, that's ironic, cos you should be sleeping.
Lmaooo..People don't have a definite time they sleep in US, US is not Nigeria. 3am cars are still on the road in the US.

Additionally to my above epistle, because this is a faceless forum doesn't mean we should be rude to others especially guys that have been here for so long. Without people's experience here, this forum is as good as dead. I find it surprising when i see people insulting others because they have contrary opinion. Even though what someone says might not go on well with you, insulting that person shouldn't be an option for you. I don't agree with the way Twoods passes his information but if you look closely, you will gain one or two from his post. It even funny to me when one small boy that just graduated is insulting him, he's one of the elders of Nairaland even though some of you don't know him because he changed moniker (Please don't ask me who he is, its not my place to say). The least we can do is to accord each other respect and if someone insults you, you don't have to reply, you wont die neither will your intellect reduce.Nobody knows it all. Have a good day guys

and na turbotax ooo. Which one is tax fraud again?
Guys here have been using turbo sha for ages and a couple

Turbo gave me all my federal back.
femi321:
Guys, Please what legal ways have you been filing your tax, apparently TurboTax is tantamount to Tax fraud. I did a detail search online and i realized Turbo Tax is not meant for international students,as an international student, you are not supposed to file online, you are to send your document prepared and mail to IRS. TurboTax is for GC/PR. Someone even said all these things wont bite now until later in future when you might want to file for GC/PR. Some students even claim the 1098T educational credit, this is also illegal,as an international student you cant claim the educational credit until you are considered tax resident which is after 5years of staying in the US. A ghananain friend said his friend claimed the credit and IRS detected, he had to setup payment plan to pay back the money. What works for Taye might not workk for Kenny. When i detected was when i was filing with Turbo tax online and i got a refund greater than what i paid as Tax. So please what other good option can one use? 2) Have you guys been filing online or sending paper document to IRS?

This is why we all need to do our research and stop relying on other people's advice 2) You could have pinged me to tell me this than posting this insulting comment here, really disappointed 3) I have taken it down 4) You will find it all over chineses and indian forums, a google search will convince you 5) Its all over quora so?
