I thought we dropped all this unnecessary bickering. All these things don't lead anywhere, you guys are derailing the thread and its not fair.

The black background is not bad at all. I gave two options for him to consider. Maintain the black background and make the text pure white instead of light grey (we have people with eye issues as well) or do the reverse (white background with black text). It would be unfair to an albino and others with eye issues or concentration issues.
Nice observation..... White text would stand out from the black I guess. But Frank would have to troubleshoot with all the templates to finally settle for something everyone would appreciate.

@FrankNetter please try to be different and creative........ I have subscribed self ...

Remember growth is gradual so focus on content for now...

Another observation boss if I am reading your blog in a danfo bus at 2pm in the afternoon I think a white background would be better ohhh. Chai......

White would be easy to read both at day and night. Especially since your audience is mostly 9ja peeps.

Killing Time

Today, having a lot of spare time on my hands, I, my siblings and Uncle went on a little "tour" of IL. Being the one driving, he told us that he would take us somewhere surprising. Oya na, we enter moto dey go. He later hinted us that we were going to Indiana, which was like an hr's drive from our own neighborhood. smiley

After a short while, we arrived at one beatdown neighborhood, lots of vacant/abandoned houses and shops, bad roads and all. We kept driving, bad roads, abandoned houses, graffiti disfigured fences were popping up everywhere. At a point, we noticed one particular road that was just redone. Guess whose house the road leads to?

The King of Pop himself! Mj was born and brought up in those white houses. It was just so ironical that someone as great as MJ grew up in these streets, I saw the school he attended, I saw the place he and his siblings had their first concerts. The sad thing about it all was that as rich as MJ was, his "village" was basically in ruins. cry

I was in awe at being so close to where someone as great as MJ was born but at the same time, I was sad he didn't do enough to help his neighborhood. In the end, it was a bitter-sweet feeling.

RIP Mj, but you no carry your people along, cry cry

We are talking about what's best for readers, you are talking bout what's best for the writer. Frank's creating blog for readers, not for himself so he wants to gain attention of readers. Even top sites (facebook, google, youtube etc...) follow the rules. And one thing about web users is that once they visit your site, they will either want to keep coming back or never want to come back.

Now FrankNetter, as a web designer, I will advice you go with white background. If you want to ship in creativity to the blog, maybe you should add weekly video, interviewing Nigerians (students, H1b holders, PR holders, dual citizens etc...) about their life in America, the challenges they faced and how they got over the challenges. You will have lots of subscribers.
