Iheanacho In Hot Water With Man City Coach After Refusing To Sign Representation Contract

Kelechi Iheanacho has fallen out of favour with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and it has been suggested by a City insider that the Nigeria international refused to sign a representation contract with one of the most
powerful agencies in the world, Pere Guardiola’s
Media Base Sports.

The Taye Academy product has been frozen out
of the Citizens squad, and has not been included on their 18-man roster for the last four matches in all competitions.

It was earlier claimed by Chidiebere Nwakali’s
camp that Pere Guardiola now looks after the
former Flying Eagles midfielder, and the Spanish agent also manages another Man City talent Brahim Díaz, who was rewarded with a new deal in September.

When asked why Iheanacho is no more getting
game time, a Manchester City staff told
allnigeriasoccer.com : “Kelechi refused to sign
a contract with Pere Guardiola, that’s why he is
out of the team. ”

Iheanacho is thought to be represented by
Gareth Bale’s agency, Stellar Group, but it is
being contested by the company that brokered
the deal that took him to Manchester City in
2014, First Eleven Management.

sorry but I don't think there is space for the Tottenham guy (onomah) and solanke in the super eagles @ the moment we can only afford to cap Abraham, aina and maybe lookman

the rest should prove themselves and wait for their time

The question is not of space but Quality who amongst these guys is best not where there is space.

So Onomah and Solanke are not proven in your opinion.

Actually I would prefer the established and well proven Sone Aluko was invited to camp above all of them, he is still only 27. If not for arrangments and manipulation he would have been a regular in the Eagles but he refused to compromise his integrity by offering gratuity to the powers that be. They know themselves.

This may be an issue for players coming from the UK the idea of settling is totally repugnant to them.

I talked about this month's ago and some suggested I was out of touch and didn't know what I was talking about. To me OLD NEWS the exact details and maneuverings will be shrouded in innuendo.

The only thing that is evidence is the contract however what happens prior is not documented we know but we can't prove ANYTHING.

No Manchester city staff will ever say that, he will sacked and sued for libel the next day. So have doubts about this news source, the story No. These things can never be corroborated but we know.

Well I can understand hating on your opponents or rivals but making biased and emotional laden comments in the name of analysis just to feel good about the prospect of beating them is just a manifestation of day dreaming which won't help anyone.

After their first match when Cameroun was first talked about, someone quoted me and said they were playing gburugburu football, whatever that means. Against Equatorial Guinea,, it was the same story, you even quoted me saying you won't take them serious until they they won the trophy, the usual naija big time Charlie pomposity.
Against Gabon, It was oh.. Cameroun were rubbish, only their keeper came to the party. We are going to kill them in Uyo. Senegal came, someone even made a bet of 60k, they aren't going to make it past Senegal. The guy was just too sure the flashy Senegalese will nail the Camerounians, after the game everyone ate a very big humble pie.
Then Ghana, I think Lexyman or some other person dared me to come online after the match. Ghana proved to be their easiest opponents. Against Egypt no one gave them a chance, even Icon4s yet they came from a goal down and won in normal time.

My dear, living in self delution won't help the Super Eagles beat Cameroun. Apart from TheSuperNerd, I have seen no other poster who have balanced view of the Camerounians. Its all about rantings and no substance.
even you don't have a balanced view, so why are you looking for someone with a balanced view?

You want to be pessimistic, we want to be optimistic. So because we no dey join you declare damnation on Super Eagles, mean say we dey wrong abi wetin?

All this long story wey you dey write like say na you be coach of national team. Calm down abeg

The Oyinbo Wall Philosophy: Rohr, Like Klinsmann

Rohr vs Klinsmann

KiKed by Bryan Efe

I would so much like to take you down memory lane as to how we lost and won the battle to have players of Nigerian decent commit to the Green-White-Green. One could easily take a laid back approach and subscribe to the saying, “you win some; you lose some”. However, what is particularly heartbreaking is when our authorities who are saddled with the task of protecting our national sports assets take a lackadaisical approach when talents stare at their face begging to commit to Nigeria. Yes, we have had cases like this where our football administrators and sometimes coaches ergonomically turned a blind eye to precociousness. For those who agree with me that we need to cap any leg that has a Nigerian root as long as that would fortify our darling Super Eagles, the thought of the loss of world class players like David Alaba to Austria, has been haunting us at least subconsciously.
However, permit me to subscribe to the other school of thought for a moment. Because the counter view really does exist among some of us Nigerians, that we must rely on our home grown talents, for it is only in the home soil we can find truly patriotic sportsmen that would commit and play their hearts out for the only country they can identify with. This argument clearly brings to mind the sojourn of Jurgen Klinsmann during his tenure as the United States’ soccer team manager. Since Nigerians are always in the custom of using the United States as a reference in almost every national matter, I will take this same typical-Nigerian approach, by examining the impact of Jurgen Klinsman’s craze for good players with dual nationality while he served as coach of the Stars and Stripes . A philosophy which his compatriot, and Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr also share. Maybe, just maybe, if we looked at the impact of that philosophy on American Soccer, we would be able to foretell the state of the Super Eagles at least two years from now.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s reign as technical director of the Stars and Stripes from the year 2011 to 2016 can be said to have come with mixed results. Looking at United States soccer team’s performance closely during Klinsmann’s long spell as coach, there were certainly positive results, such as getting out of the Group of Death at the 2014 World Cup, finishing 4th at the Copa America in 2016, winning 12 straight games in 2013 (the longest winning streak in American soccer history) including that year’s Gold Cup. The team also posted historic friendly wins away from home at Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Germany. But there were also bad results such as failing to qualify for the 2017 Confederations Cup, and a loss in the CONCACAF Cup to Mexico, and failing twice to qualify for the Olympics. Beyond those mixed results, pundits also questioned his tactics and risky lineups in important matches.

Just as so much was expected of him due to his rich curriculum vitae, Americans were unrealistic — in my opinion — to have expected him to perform magic with the limited talents (relatively speaking) at his disposal. Most of America’s best sports talents are discovered at infancy in schools, and they tend to tilt towards other more lucrative sports in line with America’s rich sports history, namely; American Football, Basketball and Baseball. Such that a child is most likely to choose the aforementioned sports above football (soccer), should they be good in all. You will hardly find an American child say he or she wants to become like London Donovan, Bruce Arena and the likes of other American top footballers. Names like Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Walter Payton and the likes are national idols in other sports, and no child can aspire to be like them while playing soccer. Hence, the reality on ground is that the US team always only had a couple special players in the midst of average players, talent wise. The USMNT (United States men’s national soccer team) has always relied heavily on tactics. But here, you have a coach in Klinsmann, who has seen football at the highest standards and played alongside top talents like himself during his playing days. It is only natural that he would always seek other options in terms of foreign born players that are eligible to play for the United States, and that can bring more ability to the team. The most notable ones included Fabian Johnson (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Aron Johannsson (Werder Bremen), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), and Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham Hotspur) among others.

Likewise, in the case of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, we also need to look at the reality on ground here in Nigeria. If we were to take a thorough statistics from the Super Eagles hey days of the early 90s, looking at every department of the game, Nigeria has produced lots of forwards and midfielders that can be classified in the range of above average to world class. Since the Clemence Westerhof era, we can probably boast of only two very good goalkeepers — Peter Rufai and Vincent Enyeama — talking about netminders at their prime, who could hold their own in the highest stage. But of all the mentioned positions, our left full back position especially has suffered from lack of personnel. Celestine Babayaro was the only player that can be categorized as World Class during his prime. Taye Taiwo was never a natural left full back player in my opinion. In right full back, maybe only Chidi Odiah. In central defense, Taribo West. The reality on ground is that Nigeria for the most part has always lacked quality full back players and central defenders. No wonder it always seemed that we have the culture of conceding easily. We concede far more easily than our opponents let us score against them, putting pressure on our advanced players to start the game all over. Therefore, what we have before us at the moment is a reality check. Explains why Gernot Rohr has been building his Oyinbo wall.

Oyinbo in this context, means players with dual nationality that were born abroad. From goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, to central defenders Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong — although he cannot take the credits for bringing these players to the Super Eagles fold — Gernot Rohr can be credited for establishing a place for them in the team, and has gone ahead in making moves to fortify this wall with more foreign-born Nigerians. Defensive players that have been rumored to be under Rohr’s consideration are: Brian Idowu (Amkar Perm, Russia), Tyronne Ebuehi (Ado den Haag, Holland), Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha Berlin, Germany), Felix Uduokhai (1860 Munich, Germany), Fabian Senninger (Hannover 96, Germany) among others. For those who are of the opinion, that we need only homegrown players in our team, please leave a comment with your suggested home grown defenders (especially) in mind.

yeah about that, do you know that a recent report has it that it was Pep who taught Iheanacho how to lace his boots? In view of that, I think Iheanacho should remain at City until he has learnt properly how to lace and 'unlace' his boot while sitting on the subs bench
He doesn't even make the subs bench anymore.

Forgiveness,

I understand your rational, we have the raw talent however I do feel some need to play in. A higher league to develop thier skill sets and realise thier full potential.

My query is that Rohr is too mainland Europe biased well actually German and Dutch.

He needs to pack his bags come to England spend a month and if he likes I'll take him round a few places and he will be pleasantly suprised.

TheGoodJoe:

Chills ran down my spine discovering that Pere Guardiola (Pep's brother) who is Chidi's agent is a co-owner of Girona FC. He sent Chidi there and the young man could not get playing time. How can that ever happen? Now he sent Angelino there and the same cycle is happening.

I do not think it is a case of not believing in Young talents because Guardiola showed tremendous faith in Busquets, Pique and Pedro at young ages. We are seeing the faith he is putting in Gabriel Jesus.

I think it has to do with money. Did not want to bring it up but I am suspecting the Barca crew operating at City. Pep, Txiki, Pere and Soriano are trying to stash money. They should not preach righteousness because we saw the shady deals Barca pulled to lure Neymar to Barca.

Fielding the EDS stars like, Nacho, Angelino, Maffeo, Tosin, Denayer, Manu, Aleix will spoil the mega transfer gains they hope to make this summer. I see Sterling, Stones, Sane and Gabriel Jesus as part of the bounty. I expected our huge mega deals to reduce but with the scary signs I am seeing lately, the madness will continue.

How much I miss Mancini.

Are you sure this is not someone making a spin off my earlier post? Not all the players playing are signed to Pere. Although William Carvalho just signed with Pere and many are expecting City to sign him. I do not think Pere will try to lure Iheanacho who is already in an agent web.

being contested by the company that brokered
the deal that took him to Manchester City in

With the Spanish amarda at Man city these days, there indeed could be substance to this publication.
The Jorge Mendez and Porto relationship could come into play here with the Guardiolas.

Loftus-Cheek, starter at City. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

That guy will not even bench Xhaka or Elneny at Arsenal, talkless of regular at City.

I have been watching Rueben since he was 16 he is quality, voted best player in the Toulon tournament.

He will definitely get into the Arsenal team for sure and you are comparing him to Elneny and Xhaka come on Oga open your korokoro well.

This guy will bring the steel and grit that Arsenal lacks in the midfield he is not slow definitely athletic, strong and technically very good.

This is the same City that bought and played the waste man Jack Rodwell. If Rueben was in City he will not be bench warmer.

When we get to August we'll know who is deluded. I have full faith in Rohr and the Eagles, you have little to none
Because am giving a full assessment of the Camerounians means am giving the Super Eagles little chance?
I was one of the few who supported the idea of having a foreign TA while the Salisu bandwagon was in full swing. How can I back out after the progress the team have made over the past few?

Reminds me of Super Eagles 2014 Nations Cup title.. Only that Nigeria seemed more lucky. Some champions start slowly. But you will agree with me Cameroon ended stronger than they started. That's what you get when you at least have games to tinker the team. Nigeria is lacking in this. how do we make up for no matches to oil our rustiness?

Rustiness?

Will Cameroun continue playing every week till the WC qualifiers in August?

We have a friendly in march and AFCON qualifiers in June just like Cameroun too. So which one bring rustiness on our own side?

My view has remained that August is 6months away. That is a very long time for a lot to have changed. What matters most is the form of the teams as at the time the games are to be played.

Flying Eagles Star Battling To Be Fit For Biggest Game Of Career Vs AC Milan

Bologna striker Orji Okonkwo is in a race against time to be fit for Wednesday evening’s Serie A clash against AC Milan.

Ahead of that fixture at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara,
the Nigeria U20 international did not participate
in full training on Monday, and was involved in an individual session instead.

Okonwko has not tasted action for the first team of The Red and Blues in the Italian top-flight since December 18 when he lasted six minutes on the turf versus Pescara.

The Football College Abuja product has six
appearances under his belt in all competitions.

He has been prolific for the Primavera team, with 5 goals scored from 8 appearances.

Apart from the Senegal friendly, we have another against DR Congo "almost sealed".

Our Super Eagles will be busy and kept in form no doubt. Only thing is The Camerounians have the Fifa Confederations cup in June also so they will have more games than us but again, that is no guarantee of any kinda advantage for them. Coz Matchday is always matchday..... smiley

And every matchday brings with it its own unique story. I'm just smiling at our clash with the camerounians. I won't reveal "why" for now.... wink

There's a hidden reason for my excitement prior to the cameroun games. Those games will be WAR... HELL... BLOOD AND SAND all rolled into one. It won't be easy for Our Super Eagles... And neither will it be for Cameroun. But I anticipate something positive.... wink

#ExcitementGrowing #GropOfDeath indeed

Nigeria seemed lucky? In what way?

We played Cote d'Ivoire in the QF, we won them 2-1. Cameroon played Senegal and only defeated them via penalties

We went on to play Mali, another strong West African team, Top 5 in Africa then, I think.....we DESTROYED them 4-1. Cameroon played Ghana, wobble and fumble Ghana, and won 2-0.

We played Burkina Faso in finals and won them 1-0. Cameroon played a stronger Egypt and won them 2-1

So, how did we get lucky when we always finished our games in regular time? undecided
