Thanks bro ...
Will The new admission letter still need to correlate with my undergraduate course since its at point of entry?

Welcome bro..
Yaa I think so. What cic have of u going to canada to study is that which u are being given visa for so if u change to something else without informing cic, I think it's it bad because those immigration officers at the point of entry also have access to your files and records. So advice is whatever u doing make sure cic knows about it to prevent any future regrets. Thanks

My bit of another contribution to the frequent PGD(C) refusals.I remained calm for some days while silently following the pages.Base on my findings, proper analysis and consultations,I will say that we should be careful while dashing our money to the CIC.This is because,Nigeria is a 3rd world country if not 4th if any existed and have high risk of immigration threat to 1st world countries, every TRV applicant is a potential immigrant expect you have proven your self beyond reasonable doubt. In essence BSC at the right age/time,Masters,PHd study have level of Trust before the VOs.Any of the already mentioned who gets refused for Visa may have not adequately dealt with the ''ignorant areas to be considered while filing your TRV application''.

To my understanding, the VOs do know that Nigerians use PGD(c) route which is an easier route,to migrate to canada because even getting its admission is so easy and to that, they are careful with these category of application. if I make reference to Australia and the USA,you will hardly or can't get Visa with PGD(c)/advance diploma admission if you already have bsc and work experience in addition because they are always suspicious of any applicant going via that route and to that every applicant for Masters study is deemed credible.

To further conclude,we all should bear in mind that applying with PGC(D) program is a GAME OF GAMBLE.if you do your best and get approved you count yourself lucky or destined,if you lose, sorry to your weeping. but using this Canada thread as object of investigation from applicants here,i have witnessed more approvals in these areas for either PGD(C)/DIPLOMA; these are Practical Nursing, Construction Management, Culinary studies and one other specialization option in Geography which i have forgotten. I came to conclude that base on my own sentiment that approvals favour these programs because it is logically an oriented practical programs in daily application to our world where mere paperwork or research work hardly favour these areas in the beginning of ones career, furthermore individuals with good travel history to 1st world countries and have returned while applying with pgc(d) programs to Canada also have gained some level of trust before the VOs and in cases of good application get approved for TRV. In essence only in exceptional cases of a good application cemented with truthful professionally written SOP, favour from God would bring approval to any PGC(d) applicants with the current situation if not,we will continue playing the gamble game till you get favoured one day like NairaBet and enriching the CIC with our hard earned money in this recession.
I just decided to chip some thoughts into this because of PGC(D) applicants sending me PMs about their refusals which i can no longer entertain. As I have clearly seen in most GCMS note file,Some of these refusals are just mere excuses so I can't crack my brain to provide solutions especially on PURPOSE OF VISIT factor which the VOs have so many reasons revolving in this area even when you have or think I chose the right program relating to my background or career.

thank you all for reading...

Is he your guardian? Do you live with him? Has he been sponsoring you before?

What do you two share that make him want to sponsor you?

Nothing is packaging if he agrees to provide statement of account and affidavit. Establish the reasons.

Firstly, everybody has different reason(s) that surrounds been sponsored by a third party. Only you know about yours and not others story.
I will like to add that it is very difficult to convince a Canada V.O the reason why a third party will want to sponsor your education (esp when s/he has dependants). Even without dependants, V.O's does not believe in it (esp Nigerian stories).
Please note that the major reason for the delay in visa application (17 weeks) is attributed to the level of corruption that is associated to Nigeria and nigerians, hence the need to vet every supporting documents seriously.
I wouldn't advise anybody to present a third party as his/her major sponsor regardless of the program he/she maybe going for (PGC/D, Master's, PhD...)
Should anyone want to involve a third party in sponsoring details, it is better and best as a co-sponsor while the P.A's parents act as sponsor or the P.A him or her self.
Remember, you will not be there to explain to the V.O why a third party will want to sponsor your education career, even if you have a very good reason and proof to support your claim. (At times, documents might not convey your message to the V.O just exactly the way you will have present it supposing you're attending an interview)
You stand a better chance (than Canada) of been given F1 visa in United State with a third party as your sponsor cos you will attend the interview and will be able to present your proofs clearly enough to the V.O, and atimes, the V.O can choose to contact your third party sponsor if he/she wants to. unlike Canada V.O's who are ready to deny any application at any slight mistake or at the sight of any un-convincing statement in the P.A's application.
My advice is that if anyone will be sponsored by a third party, persuade the potential sponsor to make some commitments (cash, landed properties. ...) to the applicants possession to atleast convince the V.O alil. Without that, you will be singing 'there's fire on the mountain. ...' in asha's voice to your application. Thanks.

First, I will love to find out if concordia university, Montreal, requires proof of English proficiency for Nigerians to study Info systems sec. If yes can I do that after the application deadline or after the admission?

I got an offer into the same program for winter 2017, they required proof of English proficiency for Nigerians. Also, I submitted my test score after the application deadline. However, submitting your test score after the application deadline would definitely slow down your application because the offer for admission comes almost two months after submitting all the required documents.

Thank you

There's been a number of posts on why PGD/PDC denials are high.

Before leaping to quick conclusions on these denial rates, there are a number of things to consider.

For example, many PGD/PGC applicants:
1. pick random courses that don't fit their prior education
2. have not learned how to write a good SOP (MSc applicants learn this while applying to schools), thus write sloppy SOPs to the VO
3. hurriedly apply to CIC and put their documents together in a haphazard way
4. have not identified exactly how the skills from a PGD/PGC program would advance their careers, and can't strategically communicate why PGD/PGC to the VO

If you want to get a TRV with a PGD/PGC admission, you need to treat your application to CIC very very seriously. Everything about your application has to show that you are a very serious applicant, in order to dispel the notion that you applied for a PGD/PGC because it is easy. As michV wrote, your SOP has to be professionally written; same for your whole application.

Your TRV application should show that you put a lot of time into it; show that you are not a run-off-the-mill PGD/PGC applicant. Give the VO a professional impression about you.

Unfortunately most PGD/PGC applicants are in a hurry to get admission, and are in a hurry to get a visa, which leads to a rushed TRV application. You know the outcome. Visa denial.

Canada doesn't want lazy people. It wants smart brilliant people. Impress the VO, and the likelihood that you'd get your TRV will go up considerably.

VOs give the benefit of the doubt to MSc applicants, but if you are going for a PGD/PGC you have to dispel any suspicions that the VO has about you. Get to work!

im just getting this, sorry for the late reply.. what do you need?

hello Kento, I am currently applying for masters in Information Security at Concordia. In fact, I am almost done with the application but I needed to talk to someone to confirm certain things before I pay the application fee. I sent them a mail but the reply I got was very shallow. Called them severally but no one picks up. Please I would really appreciate if I could contact you and ask you few questions. Thanks
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by thesoj: 4:46am On Feb 08, 2017
@kalohenic, sorry I missed your post where you mentioned me. It appears all your questions have already been addressed. Also, read up on some of my earlier posts as you will find some of them valuable and pertinent to your application context.

You finished with a first class, and that will give you some advantage in the eyes of the visa officer (VO) as it shows that you are a serious applicant. Kudos. But you will still need to convince the VO.

Pay attention to your SOP to the visa officer, use it to win him/her over. In it write about your passions and goals for the future, link these with your previous education and work experience. Explain how your Canada education would help bring to life these future goals and how accomplishing these goals will directly benefit Nigeria.

Every aspect of your application (including all the documents you include) should reflect the kind of person you want the VO to assume you to be. Most of the battle is in getting the VO to see you as a potential asset to Canada, and/or as a student who will return to Nigeria if need be.

Hello, are you sure that grade is correct? I once mailed a university asking for Nigeria CGPA equivalence and I got to know that 3.7 ( Canada) =4.2(Nigeria).

I think so, yeah. I used the WES ca iGPA calculator.

Good morning guys, just picked up my package yesterday and I was refused due to insufficient financial resources with a balance of 8million naira o....I am a graduate of agricultural science although I got admission to study sociology(bsc) in Canada coz I've always loved the course.
A guy with a sharp mouth told me yesterday told me they might still not give the visa if I get more money and reapply because sociology is another course entirely different from agriculture.
So my ppu do you think I should ignore him and reapply coz my school already sent me another admission letter for September or I should apply for Msc (although I've tried it with no luck getting a supervisor) thanks
