Hello House!
I have seen ur wonderful post on this blog, helping student to know everything concerning Canadian Visa's. Please I have some questions to ask because i want to apply for that soon.
1-) My sponsor(brother) is a permanent residence and a citizen of Canada, please is he eligible to be my sponsor, he is a businessman. Will I be denied visa because he is a permanent residence, maybe after studying I won't return back to Nigeria?
2-) Do my sponsor need to fill any other form before he can sponsor me?
3-) To your best knowledge, do you advice him to send the money to me , so that I'll be a self sponsor to myself? . 4-) Should he submit his bank statement before paying my tuition fee? Is it compulsory that he will pay my accomdation fee before I'll be granted Visa?
5-) Submission of applications through online and paper route, which is the best and faster?
6-) If I'm submitting with paper route what kind of papers do we need to submit our application, is it in plain papers?
7-)Do he need any affidavit to back up his sponsorship to me after writing letter of sponsorship?
Please clarify me on this questions, I'll be very happy to hear from you all soon.
Kind Regards Francis |

Kind Regards Francis Hi Francis... I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge... 1st) Yes he is very eligible as you may be favoured based on also having someone there who is now a citizen... Its a big advantage to you if you play your game right... Its safer to apply for study permit in your case. 2) Yes ... It is called use of a representative form.. (He can also write a letter to back up) 3) No... I would not advise that... Its best to use a citizen as your sponsor... 4) If your school requires for tuition fee to be paid upfront (before you arrive it will be stated in your L.O.A - Letter of Acceptance) and yes let him go ahead and pay because you will need to attach it with your L.O.A when submitting your documents... Tell your brother to also send his bank statement or tax clearance ( last 5 years is advisable if you use tax clearance method it shows good financial base ) 5) Personally I prefer paper route... To me it is safer though some may say its slower... It usually takes 60-65 days if all is well 6) No... You will fill the forms online and print them out before going to submit at VFS or wherever you desire 7) Yes... He might need to write a letter (addressed to the consulate of the High Commission of Canada) clearly stating that he is your brother and that he is claiming full sponsorship / responsibility during your stay in Canada... He should also add documents like his Birth Cert, His Canadian Passport and other relevant documents to show you are related since you bear the same last name... dimpules8: Hello house, gurus, anyone with similar experience, please help
My cosponsor is my mum. She retired last year and has just registered her hospital in CAC adding some of her children as directors including me. She stated that d funds for d sponsorship are from her savings while in active service and not that d hospital is sponsoring.
1.)Is it wise to submit d CAC cert bearing in mind that d date on it will be very close to the submission date or wud it be a red flag?
2.)do I state dat I am a director and also employed as a staff of the hospital as I have an employment letter?
3.)If I should submit the CAC cert, do I include d form that shows d names of d directors? Thanks
PS. I read yemdogg's post of May 21. Could retiring last year and her returning from vacation be a good reason for the "just now" registration. Please submit the CAC documents particularly the CAC 2 and CAC 7. She would explain in her Letter of sponsorship that she just retired from service and she recently just set up her own hospital. This would show future income for your mum. And CAC 7 would show home tie to Nigeria. |

Sorry bro some of these info are misleading. Your answer to question number 1 is not all true. Using someone in Canada as sponsor is not generally a good idea especially if such person will be bearing your full responsibility. Canadian govt want inflow of money into their system. Once your sponsor is already based in Canada, you're deemed an economy burden to Canada. More particularly since the person is a very close relative. This means you'd really need to work hard regarding your hometie. Am not saying this is not possible. Buh you should be very strategic about this. Ensure to get all relevant documents from him. how many dependents does he have ? I hope he's very buoyant financially? Cos the visa officer will be extremely unforgiving if he/she finds any discrepancy in your sponsor's documents. Your answer to question number 2 is extremely far-fetched and entirely not apposite in the circumstance. Use of representative form is applicable to someone who wants his personal information as regards his visa application released to a specific individual or third party or if his brother is submitting his visa application on his behalf. The op has not indicated any of these, therefore there is no need for him to submit use of representative form since he would be applying himself. Furthermore, he risks the chances that cic would only communicate with his brother and not him and as such he may not be fully updated with respect the status of his application. Your answer to question 3 is not true also. We've said repeatedly on this thread that the easiest way a sponsor can show commitment to support you financially is for the sponsor to roll some funds into your personal account. Leave the funds for a while before printing your soa. Your sponsor should indicate in his sponsorship letter that in furtherance of his commitment to sponsor you, he has transferred some funds to your account on a mentioned date. He should oblige you with his soa, so that the VO attending to your application can see for himself that indeed the funds in your account are from your sponsor. Your soa and that of your sponsor would reflect the said transaction. More so if you have your personal funds, you should indicate it somewhere. Answer to question number 4 is very true. Answer to question 5: Nobody can categorically state the timeline for a visa application. Each application is peculiar. Some go as far as 20 weeks, 17 weeks, 30 weeks and in the same vein some get decision from cic within 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks etc. It all depends on the VO. Answer to question 6 and 7 are correct. @frankrobbn1 please be properly guided. 8 Likes 1 Share |

What I mean is can't one sponsor their sibling to become a PR cos i think(not sure) its a much more straightforward route; if it exists. Though it takes a lot of time, its worth the wait cos frankrobbn1 wouldnt then have to pay exorbitant international fees, faster PR and so on. Even study visa these days takes forever so who cares? Check manitoba nominee program. I just might not be thinking in line with 'op'. If he's going purely for studies which I doubt, then by all means, but in my opinion, having a sibling who's a citizen and is willing to sponsor is a very big advantage one should jump at. Although, its diff strokes for different folks. I'll check it out. Thanks |

Yes you can apply but keep the following in mind: 1. There are some questions you should direct to your school cos only they can give you accurate answers. 2. You have a masters degree and a masters degree is generally considered higher than a college diploma (assuming youre going for a PGD or PGC) by the visa officers (those that'll screen your visa application). many have been refused visa for this sole reason. 3. Your best bet will be going for another masters degree. Note that some have been successful going for PGD, PGCs, albeit with a low succession rate. Cheers 1 Like |

Hello everyone...
I graduated with a low GPA (about a 2.83/4.00 Canadian scale). I know my chances of getting a masters admission is low, at the same time PGC/D refusal rate is scary. Now I'm considering taking the GRE to kind of compensate for my low grades but so far all the schools I checked want minimum of 3.0.
I'm a Statistics and Demography major, finished from OAU, will be done with NYSC by April.
I want to do Data Science or something related to Analytics , even Trent and UofWesternOntario want 3.0.. I just don't know what to do. I think I have a shot at getting admission at University of Fraser Valley Data Analysis PGD program but na trv refusal Dey scare me.
I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of schools that might accept my low gpa coupled with GRE.
PS: I'm only asking cos I've exhausted all the list of schools I found online not like I've been idle to do research.
Thanks. |
