I have once posted my CV on nairaland and I didn't see anything to it.

Nairaland is a public, faceless forum. It's unbelievable that anyone will be so uptight about a non issue like this.

Anyways, my sincere apologies if I hurt you in any way. I was just doing what I always do. If there's anything you take away from all this, please, let it be to loosen up.

Jglad I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your CV is not a Hit, here are the long list of 10 Things I noticed.

1. You don't need 2 email address

2. You don't need 2 phone numbers

3. You don't need your Next of Kin on your CV

4. You don't need a 4 line paragraph describing your "Capabilities"

5. State of Birth, LGA, Nationality, Marital Status, Gender, Religion are not needed.

6. The section labeled "other information" should be "Leadership Experience"

7. Kindly introduce a bullet section for your "Skills"

8. Your Objective is very general and conventional. Change it to something you thought out yourself.

9. Where you had your NYSC is not on your CV. Include it if you can.

10. Build more on your job responsibilities during I.T

With regard to point 5, while the whole religion etc stuff aren't necessary, in Nigeria, your age and most times sex is important to have on your CV.

Forget the whole western idea of age and such being discrimatory, here, in Nigeria if you don't indicate this from the outset, your CV may just hit the bottom of the thrash can faster than Usain Bolt would cover a 50m dash.

well kudos to the guy who took the pain and time to identify her flaws in such a record time. atleast he should he should take solace in the fact that the lady was decent enough to have acknowledged and even thanked him for his effort. the lady is someone i will employ 100X over, should the case arise.

however, the exposé/disclosure should have been delivered to her privately

but instead the guy was carried away by the rave of the moment threw caution/decorum to the wind,

and proceeded to making the whole thing a public spectacle, causing the poor lady public embarrassment

They are not your flaws but flaws on your CV. So for taking the time to help review your CV what the Op gets in return is some disparaging and snide remarks as words of appreciation. What's the fuss all about if he critiques your CV here? At least, other nairalanders like you and I can get to learn from it and edit similar mistakes on our cv too. Take this from me, this attitude won't help you in your job search. I'm talking from experience.

He could have just sent the critics through the same means by which she sent the Cv to him nd there'd have been no trouble. So I perfectly understand where jglad is coming from. In fact I'd rather have you not review my Cv than coming to publicise it, yes it's as bad as that.
So all of you dt are criticising her should understand that ppl are different.

Life care less who or what type of person we are, and I can bet that we'd be faced more often than not with "flaws revealing" (as some see it) situations like this. How we respond everytime says who we are, that optimistic person that see a half filled cup or the insecure person that see an half empty cup.
