TheGoodJoe:Ballotelli was loved! You can't rule out a few racist idiots in Italy, but considering the extent of his acceptance in a racist nation like Italy, that guy was loved! |

Elxandre: “Himself (Balotelli), has started realising he made a big mistake playing for the Italian National Team and he has told friends about it”, Barwuah told GazzettaGhana. “He is not being treated well, true they don’t show him the love he deserves for his great talent and skill. I think that all he gets is abuse, especially from the media here and that is because he is black”. “They don’t like him and it started from the beginning, they didn’t want to see a black boy like himself taking glory of the Italian National Team.” http://peacefmonline.com/pages/sports/soccer/201604/275998.php 2 Likes |

Elxandre: The Nigerian was on parade on Saturday, and became the club’s third-highest overseas appearance maker. John Mikel Obi became the 21st player to make 350 appearances for Chelsea in the Blues’ 2-2 draw against Watford in Saturday’s English Premier League fixture. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4110/nigerians-abroad/2015/12/26/18724442/mikel-sets-appearance-record-with-chelsea?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fp%3Dmikel%2Bappearance%2Bchelsea%26fr%3Donesearchnew |

many of us will forget him easily. I liked Udeze no doubt.. but you will agree with me. If Alaba had turned out for Nigeria, Taiwo and Udeze would have warmed the bench consistently.. (with much respect to both players) of course, unless they are used in a different position. Just as Oruma would have been an incredible force for Nigeria, had Okocha not dominated that position so well for over a decade. No one stopped Nigerian coaches from using him as number 8 for example... he was banging goals for Sochaux. zicky: 1 Like |

before.. racism will be there for a long time. Ghana have had some great players though who rather played for another country. Ballotelli for sure. Samuel Kufour also. Marcel Desailly... TheGoodJoe: 1 Like |

very well said. Anyone could have expected Obi to be one of the world's finest today, looking at his performances in the colors of Inter Milan 5 years ago. We are glad he is at least still relevant. chidexxy007: |

Thank you all for returning to football finally, and for those who seek to derail the thread, we will wait quietly till you are ignored finally. I really want us to caution ourselves with the language we use. We Nigerians love insults so much that we have turned it into an everyday routine. To think that a lot of people view this forums, even foreigners and we end up disgracing ourselves just to have the last chat. As someone once said all these insults are evidence which I hope will not be used against us in future. You will be surprised how e-war could be the genesis of one's downfall especially those destined for greatness. And I am even more disappointed in some old timers who chose to stoop so low. And to be the newcomers, ever wondered if this forum would have lasted this long if all we did was insult each other everyday I always thought this was the only sane Nigerian forum where insults were avoided and maturity was displayed. How wrong I was? 2 Likes |

This thread was flowing well without the emergence of some new and very strange "Monikers" Now that they have flooded this thread like some bees who have lost their direction why can't we just ignore their jabs and make them look more useless. How long shall we continue to pet them. When they throw insults at you, just ignore no need to respond to them again and again. The simple truth is that 'we do not need their contribution here.' They should all go to where they are needed. You don't respond to an "Agberoristic behaviour" no matter how provoked you might become. Just maintain your cool. Anyone that runs after or pursues a mad man will also be seen as a mad man by the spectators. "Quote me unnecessary and become a useless Agbero" 1 Like |

Elxandre: Granted, Zaha is better than Chamberlain. How about Andros Townsend who was playing for relegated New Castle getting to the team ahead of Zaha? You avoided that one. Owen Hargreaves was always a starter for Bayern Munich whenever he was fit but guys like Scott Parker and Nicki Butt were given a chance ahead of him. Mikel Arteta qualifies for naturalisation having spent 10+ years in the UK. It wasn't just world cup he would have played for them. He would have played qualifiers and Euros too for them. And his services would have helped England immensely if he was called up. Justapose Mikel Arteta's case with Diego Costa who got to Spain in his 20's from Brazil, yet the Spaniards didn't hold back in getting him to play for them. How about Marcus Senna? When David James was fumbling, the former Arsenal goalkeeper was mutted to be interested in repping England, what later came out of that? Nothing. Instead England took one of their own Robinson and it was howlers upon howlers which cost them an Euros ticket to Croatia. I can go on and on.... But let me stop. When in France, there's nutted discrimination against players of Muslim North African heritage. Google about Laurent Blanc's discrimination case which almost cost him his job. Its almost unbelievable a guy like Ben Yedder is yet to be capped. Why do you think Algeria and the likes have it easy getting their French born players to rep them? Belive it or not, their is racism and discrimination in football. Its not all cut and dry. A lot of sh!t goes behind the scenes. 1 Like |

Kelechi Iheanacho's Man City future addressed by Nigeria coach Kelechi Iheanacho will fight his way back into Pep Guardiola's plans - despite the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, his international manager insists. Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr revealed he has spoken with the 20-year-old striker, who has been left out of Manchester City's last four matchday squads. He’s only started nine games all season - four in the Premier League - and that is despite Sergio Aguero missing seven games through suspension. While Aguero’s position has come under scrutiny following Jesus’ stunning start to his City career - the impact on Iheanacho’s first team chances has been largely overlooked. But Rohr is convinced the forward has the mental strength to rise to the challenge. “I am sure Kelechi will come back to this team,” Rohr told Africanfootball.com. “He’s a fighter, he has a good fighting spirit. “This player is a good athlete and he has a good mind. “I have spoken with him and he will come back. “He’s a young player, so sometimes he plays, sometimes he doesn’t. “And for a big club like Manchester City, you can’t play all the time. “I believe he will come back to play for City again.” Guardiola has unveiled his new-look forward line of Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling in recent weeks - describing it as the ‘future’. It has raised questions about Aguero’s own position, despite the club insisting they have no plans to sell their leading scorer. But Iheanacho faces an even bigger challenge to break up an attack that has looked so impressive in only a short time together. Guardiola has already admitted Iheanacho deserves more playing time - but he has been given precious few opportunities this season. In November he joked that it would take a change of manager to improve his first team chances. “Of course he deserves to play, but there are many, many others who deserve to play too,” he said. “Our job is so uncomfortable for these kind of decisions. “Normally when these guys don’t train good, when they are not nice guys with his team-mates, it doesn’t matter, but that is not the case with Kele. “My advice is keep going, keep fighting, sooner or later everything is coming back, and of course he’s going to have his minutes. “Until now he played good, but in the big teams sometimes that happens. “You can play just 11 players and that’s all.” 1 Like |

AIG07:As crazy as this sounds Sir AIG07 I have a feeling he will stay next season though I want him to play more. Navas will leave that is certain. He is the face of man city's academy. The first to break through, make a name for himself and hold a place for a while. Just watch this space. He will play against Huddersfield in the fa cup. Sometimes I wonder why all this noise. At a time we had 4 strikers in the team, tevez, aguero, balotelli, dzeko and even jovetic another time. A loan move to West ham might be good though |

eterisan:The reason for the fuss is that the coach(pep) does not believe in the boy and there is no sign he'll be giving all his strikers fair share of game time like his predecessors(Mancini n Pellegrini). To me, the best option for Nacho is either to go out on loan or go on a permanent deal. It's obvious he might not get enough playing time under pep and I'm sure u know d effect it will have on such a young lad(Martial n Rashford as an example). |
