chic2pimp: I will tell you RACE at inception HAS EVERYTHING TO WITH IT. I probably over the last ten years or more have spoken with at least 75 Black premiership players. Add to that a much less number of Black coaches at youth and senior level, in which all concede race as having over riding influence. Race in the context of negative prejudice which is simply RACISM. In this matter I am genuinely sorry to say you are Grossly mistaken. 1 Like 1 Share |

goldfish80:Arteta wasn't qualified to play for England, according to the old FIFA rule because he didn't hold a British passport when he represented Spain in the youth competitions. Diego Costa was fully qualified to play for Spain according to present FIFA rules. Even Costa attracted mixed opinions. It's not the same thing when you are an older player. Some must feel you are an opportunist. Has all these discrimination stopped France from parading an even 'blacker' team than some African nations? Aren't the rest of them Arab Muslims? There will always be racist bigots anywhere. Many always said an African guy would never stand a chance with England, but the truth is most of them were never good enough. Agbolanhor, and the likes. Dele Alli has proven you guys wrong! Germany is a more racist country, but some of their biggest players are Arabs and Africans |

komekn: There was a season that ended and I can not remember the exact award but they gave awards to the best coaches of each League. Every coach that got an award that day were League winners except, Paul Ince. I think Ince was the coach of MK Dons and he won the league that season. He was the only League winner who did not get the award of best coach in his League. Clearly a race factor. |

TheGoodJoe:I just saw this news... *MAN CITY WILL SANCTION MASSIVE DELE BID* Manchester City are prepared to sanction a record-breaking move for Tottenham star Dele Alli, according to the Sunday Express. The England international is seen as the potential long-term heart of the squad as Pep Guardiola seeks to overhaul his team with an emphasis on homegrown players. What do u folks see to a swap deal that will involve Kelechi going d other way round?. Don't u think it will be good n nice seeing him work with M. Pochettino? Cc: Other Forumites. 1 Like |

Elxandre:If a mixed player is world class or bothering on world class, these guys will quickly put an arm around him and make sure they exploit his talents to their advantage. However if the said player is average, priority will be given to equally average natural indigenous player than the black or Arabian player. That's the discrimination we are talking about. You expect the English FA not to give Delle Ali a shirt in his present form? Why do you think they choose Andros Townsend repeatedly over Wilfred Zaha even when Townsend was playing for relegated New Castle and now Crystal Palace, a team Zaha plays for. I've made my points with the French example and racial comments attributed to Lauren Blanc. Sol Campbell voiced out after retirement that he missed out on being England captain even when he was the most senior member of the squad due to his race. You don't know more than Campbell my friend. The English FA renegaded on the decision to have Arteta after the bad publicity generated. Arteta had a valid UK passport. He's a British citizen. 3 Likes |

goldfish80:He didn't have a British passport as at when he played for the Spanish youth team. What do you think about Ferdinand? wasn't he England's captain? Many blacks are always quick to play the race card, even when other factors might have led to favouritism or discrimination against them! |

eterisan:your opinion is welcomed n respected as we all want d best for nacho. On city players going out on loans, wilfred Bony is a close and recent example. He his presently wit Stoke city. With d numbers of 'attacking' players dortmund has though not all can spear head their attack(top strike), it's only Auba that has been outstanding interm of goal scoring n he his followed by Dembele if I'm right. Reus is presently a shadow of himself and Isak is barely 18 and I don't see how he'll pose a threat to Nacho. Despite their short comings these guys are still been given ample time to show what de've got. I see nacho getting more playing time there compared to city. 1 Like |

Elxandre: Mikel Arteta was qualified to have a UK passport as at the time of calling, having worked in UK over 5 years. Rio Ferdinand for all his endvour and status as the most expensive defender and antecedents captained England just 7 times. Mostly as a deputy to John Terry. Here is the list of all England captains till date. Spot the black players you can find. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_England_national_football_team_captains 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: I disagree Onazi is not so smart. Smartness is the ability to move to any area of the pitch without leaving a serious gap in your actual position, I don't think that I need to highlight how many times Onazi has been caught out of position in one particular match in fact. Correct me if I am wrong, but Onazi has only played 2 positions well for the SE, DMF and CMF effectively the same thing anyways just the difference was the position he occupied on the pitch. Modern players ALWAYS play more than one position, that is not smartness, it isn't special 2 Likes |

Mickael2: How is playing multiple position not "smartness". Name one player in the history of the game that has gone without a mental lasp? Even Rohr has moved him into AMF in a couple games, he played fullback for Keshi. Just say "i don't like Onazi so stop praising him" next time so we can save all this. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: please when did Rohr move him into an Amf position? Smartness isn't doing what everybody does(I am still trying to figure out where and when he played the AMF position). And this has absolutely nothing to do with Onazi, when somebody here said the same thing about Mikel, I told him modern day footballers play multiple positions, it isn't special, I don't celebrate mediocrity. How many games did he play as a fullback? When you talk about actual versatility you talk about playing multiple positions multiple times, not a stop-gap replacement within a match |

forgiveness: Yes but why was he removed from there? Because he hardly creates any good scoring oppurtunity, I remember you told me this a long time ago and I later found out that you are correct but he was moved away because he really wasn't good there. A versatile player is someone like Azpilicueta that can play RB, LB, CB and sometimes DMF to perfection. Cc basconVanvieli |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 3:43pm On Feb 12, 2017 |
BascoVanVeli: where and when did he create the scoring oppurtunities? He started the play for 3 good chances no doubt but he didn't create 3 good scoring oppurtunities, he passed the ball out wide in all 3 occasions, I am not selling him short I just want to explain that he didn't create the chance exactly, he created the oppurtunity that led to the chance. But let's look at it critically, why didn't he create any good scoring oppurtunity when he started as a DMF? Ndidi came in and still managed to create a good play from the DMF position, if you play Onazi as the Amf from the first blast of the whistle my brother you are dead |

Mickael2: Dont know in the case of Onazi, but players can get moved for different reasons apart from performance. Mikel comes to mind (AMF to DMF not because he was a poor AM player). Lauren was moved to RB in Arsenal even though he excelled in the midfield role (was player of the tournament at AFCON 2000). Even Okocha played DMF for a few games in PSG and that didn't work out. Players get moved if there ia a need in the team and if they excel in that new role, they retain their spot 1 Like |
