I've finally bought my baby things, atleast most of it, now remaining all the big money ones like cots, car seat. I want a cot that's very portable, small size, and that can be dismantled and folded up when the baby is no longer using it. Any suggestions? I don't still think I'm done with clothes tho. Someone should please tell me what's the realistic quantity of clothes to buy, and their sizes. For instance, how many new born, how many 3-6 and how many 6-9. I don't want to have too few that we'd be doing wash and wear , or too many that she would outgrow the clothes before she even gets to wear them. cc Jazzyjazz, beeblossoms, Zaynie 3 Likes |

Flowerlady01:Hmmmm. Don't judge anyone except you have walked atleast a mile in their shoes. Other mamas here have told her what she did is wrong. Which ofcourse it is. But they used a better tone with empathy. We should learn to not castigate people because they bring up their personal issues to us. There are so many women who have done worse and didn't bring it here for you to be a judge. You don't know what she's going through. The least you could do is be nice. Except of course you are not a woman. Pheeeeeeww. 30 Likes 1 Share |

Lol. My dear, I undastand you but you guys were sugar coating the truth. You told her its wrong but you didn't tell her enough consequences. So she can fear God next time devil tries to tempt her to try such acts again. If her home breaks (God forbid), she may wish she had been told some men would never take such rubbish from her. Her husband did not try. She too did not try. I wish her well. cc gratefulaheart 3 Likes 1 Share |

mofy1:Hello teamie, it is very safe to take limited quantities of Lipton tea (black tea) it contains 45-55 mg of caffeine per serving. On the other hand, decaffeinated black tea contains 2-5 mg of caffeine(choose this). It is advised that pregnant women do not take over 200mg of caffeine during pregnancy, because the fetus and even breastfeeding babies can't eliminate excess caffeine from their system. Adding a lot of milk to it is a plus. But don't take the tea the same time u take ur prenatal vitamins, as it reduces /blocks the absorption of iron. It will interest you to know that coke ,Pepsi, chocolate, energy drinks and a few other food/drinks contain more caffeine. DRINK RESPONSIBLY!!! 1 Like |

Flowerlady01: That was really harsh. Frustration must have pushed her to act the way she did. She is pregnant, you should at least empathize with her then you can correct her, just like other mamas have done. That's the best way to teach someone not this. I am surprised you are a woman. I wonder what you would have said if it was the reverse that was the case. Would you dish out the same judgment. 4 Likes |

Giddyperson: My Opinion: dont get too many newborns because you don't know how big your baby will be and it will be out grown before you blink. Dont waste your money buying any outing clothes that is less than 3 months. - most babies live in vests and sleepsuits and they don't go out much in the first 3 months. however you may want to get something nice for baptism or dedication if you know you will do it before 3 months. ".. but what about naming?" i hear you ask. Have you ever seen anything more than a baby's face at the naming?, at 8 days old, they are all wrapped up so no one will see the clothes underneath the blanket/ shaw. just get a nice blanket for the photos. Consider how often you will bath the baby and how often you want to do laundry and that will guide you. For instance- f you want to do laundry like once a week i would say about 10 vests and 10 bodysuits at any one time. however if you want to bath baby twice a day - due to nigerian heat, then you may need to double or at least add half that number to about 15 to 20 may be 3 in newborn size; and 7 in 0-3 months then when they out grow that you can get: 3 no 3-6 months and 7 no 6-9 months you really don't want to be buying a new set every 3 months, so you can reduce the number of 3-6 months and get more 6-9 months, as they will grow into it and you will use them for longer) from about 6 months, note they will be wearing other clothes so you may want to reduce the Bodysuits for nighttime only, but the vests will be used day and night, and also on their own if the weather is too hot. they are also more mobile so you will want to cut down on the oversized sleepsuits so they dont trip or fall so 7 no 9-12 months - sleep suits, 10 no 12-18 months vests - the vests sleeves can be rolled up if long sleeve. Other cloths like dresses, tops, trousers etc, you can get no more than 4 at any one time for outing, - most likely for church on sunday or the odd party. and always have atlleast 2 of them a size up. because you can wake up one fine sunday morning and bring out your 3-6 month fancy dress, and your 4.5month old daughter has outgrown it. For house clothes - see how you get on, after like 3 -6 months you will have an idea of how many to buy get plenty bibs, i ended up having at least 20! you will use like 3 a day on a good day! had only 7 initially and i ended up hand washing every second day to be able to keep up. Don't buy too many mittens - they always seem to fall off, and get lost. getting the ones with good elastic is ridiculously hard. alternative is to use baby stocks instead - it never falls off. so you may want buy more of the socks. For the cot, a bassinet is your best bet - they last till about 6 months, they can be dismantled when done, some even have castors so you can easily move them from one room to the other. some also double as a rocker so you can rock the bassinet ...... very useful feature. if you want something longer lasting and more versatilte, and if you have space in your house, i would say get a travel cot, most can be used for a long time about 9 or 12 months i think and some can be transformed into a play pen when baby is too big to sleep in them. you also get the benefit of them being collapsible and you can easily carry it with you if you are travelling e.g - a weekend at grandma's. you can also get a mosquito net and lay over the top. hope this helps. sorry i sabi write plenty. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

Buy Graco pack and play. I shared a picture a few pages back. When I get home I'll share a pic of how it looks packed. You can take it from room to room or even for long visits to someones house. Clothes sha take it easy. People will still gift you stuff and you can buy as you go along. I bought very few 0-3 and focused more on 3-6. Can't remember the exact quantity Giddyperson: 2 Likes |

See i rarely give marriage advise cos my own thinking is different from normal people's own but as I see kill yourself I can't but comment I believe in making marriage work but when e don reach life or death please choose life. Marriage is not the beginning and end of it all. I don't know what your specific situation is but please abeg, where there is life there's hope. I believe you're a grown woman and have weighed your options very well. If leaving is the best thing biko leave. Suicide is not an option. blank: Hello. If we may chip in , depending on the weight of your baby and the product you have, most mums tend to start cloth diaering after 6 weeks (they are first time mums and we are mums too, we recommend giving yourself time to get your breastfeeding routine down and adjust to having a newborn and their demands). 2nd time mums start from the hospital because now they have more experience with babies. there are other foreign brands of cloth diapers. Like Flip, Chelory, Bumgenious etc. Wamby Diapers is Nigerian owned and Nigerian-made (at least 50% of our stock). 6 months before Wamby Diapers launched, we contacted mums we found out were cloth dispersing and sent them our products to test. We wanted to compete with the best. And that is why they still support us till today. The mothers behind Wamby Diapers are scientists, a couple of engineers (with extensive experience in production). We are a woman-owned business and we feel we would like to empower our own people instead of continually giving money to people who keep signing laws making it harder for us to even visit their country (you want Nigerian money but not our presence ). Another reason why we started was every cloth diapering mum who was in Nigeria complained that there was no customer service or aftercare. Why should you be sold a product and not be told how to use it? We cannot speak for other products (unless we know the brand) but if you read our blog www.mameandboo..com, I'm pretty sure you will find answers on how to use that cloth diaper product you were gifted. Our mums writing the posts are well-versed in a lot of cloth diaper product usage from a lot of brands. Thank you 1 Like 1 Share |

Hmmm. Help her if you want to help her. The wounds of a friend is better than the poison coated kisses of an enemy. The truth is harsh sometimes but it can reset the brain. Maamaa , I know you won't take my advice or any other persons advice here that seems harsh. Of course, many mamas will continue to pet you and call me names. Its Ok. No shaking. U are not the first woman to enter her husband's house through pregnancy. You won't be the last. Some were able to make it work later on. If you want to leave, fine. But me thinks with wisdom and calmness, you can make it work since you are already in. And I repeat, dont harm urself or ur child. Its not worth it. 6 Likes 1 Share |

blank: I started from 3 months, although it was because i just felt a bit overwhelmed with being a new mom, and i had like 10 packs of disposables as gifts so decided to use those first. You can use them from birth, and there are even tiny sizes for pre-term babies or newborns with low birth weights. There are many cloth diaper brands out there, there are popular US and UK brands which are what i have but Wamby is practically the only Naija brand that seem to know what they are talking about regarding modern cloth diapers. i.e they are not just selling for selling sake, they genuinely know their products and what works, with tips and ideas on how to use cloth diapers. Cloth diapers all come in different styles for instance All-in-ones, All-in-twos, pocket diapers, Fitted diapers, flats, inserts, covers/ wraps... etc etc but in essence you get an absorbent part and a waterproof part. For the one(s) you have, post a few pictures and i will know what type it is before i can tell you how it works. 1 Like |
