There are reports that Barcelona want the services of Nigeria's and Chelsea's RWB, Victor Moses at Camp Nou.

It's believed that He is the best RWB in the world right now.

I think you should make a more realistic list. There's no need building Castle in the sky involving names like Tosin Arabioyo, Thiago Ilorin and the other guy in Germany.
I think when compiling a list like this we should list those who are within reach and not some of those names.

For starters, I follow Thiago Ilorin on instagram and there's absolutely nothing to show his affinity to Nigeria.
He's all about #proudtobeportugesse on his posts and lots of solidarity to the selecao.

It's not worth it we hired mercenaries to play for us when we have talents in abundance who are willing to sweat blood and tears to defend the jersey. The Cameroun example is still fresh.

And how can we confirm they are not within reach when we have not approached them?

We can't keep assuming without concrete evidence that they don't want to play for Nigeria.

I know it could be difficult to get the German but it worth trying to get him.

I don't know much about Adarabioyo unwillingness to feature for Nigeria neither do I think Tiago solidarity for the Portuguese national team is enough to close the door on him.

Maybe he thinks he doesn't stand a chance of getting a call up to the Super Eagles hence the need for him to play save.

If these lads are good, I don't think there is anything wrong trying to convince them to play for Nigeria.

However, I don't care if they are mercenaries or not. All I care is 'are they better than what we have'.

France won the world cup with mercenaries, remember. grin

I have known Tammy (Tega) since he was 15. I will be more candid he is not ready for the Eagles, he has got more to learn. Irrespective of goals in the championship he has more to learn, his repertoire of technique is limited. At National level those gaps will be exposed.

I actually think Solanke is ahead of him as a striker particularly where national team is concerned.

My preference for right back amongst all current candidates is Aina at Chelsea.

Ademola looks good but has more to learn he is not better than Etebo in my opinion. And again Ademola may be in Everton does not necessarily make him an immediate candidate for Eagles.

I do think the experienced Sone Aluko has a lot to offer.

Well, I don't think we need to wait until that time because it could be too late for us to convince him. I think we should cap him first before then.

And if he does well, we will keep using him.

You people keep saying he has more to learn when it's glaring he has the potential to become a world class player.

Haba! That was what we said when Alaba was nobody and even Dele Alli and Barkley.

We don't need to wait once we have discovered they have the potentials. Time is now when dey are nobody.

How can you compare a LW with a Midfielder?

Do they play the same role?

Even from what I saw, Ademola-lookman is more skilful than all the players we have except Victor Moses. grin

I don't think it's realistic to forecast a team on "probabilities". Names such as Solanke, Udokhai, Aina, Ilori, Lookman etc are all probabilities. Until I read an interview or monitor events and see they have declared for Naija, I ain't even looking at these guys. It takes a lot to convince these guys to leave a FOREIGN safe haven to come play for CLUELESSLY run Naija football. It's not that our team is bad, it's just the way our football is run, makes any sane thinking person to wanna stay away. I believe we have other FULL Naija options. E.g. Onyekuru, Samuel Kalu, Aluko Bala and many more. The future is bright, but I'd likely not take the risk of includingredients dual eligible players until they willingly declare for us.

I have met quite a few Nigerian internationals who are British born and or came to England at a very early age.

All have shown undying loyalty to Nigeria without any questions what so ever. However, they cannot tell you in the public domain what actually goes on behind the scenes.

I remember a 4* hotel (on recognition) was booked for the National team in London only for officials to say money no dey to pay. Mikel and Yobo were amongst those that settled the bill to avoid international embarrassment.

I know a member national coaching team (not there now) who insisted that unless this already established premier league player signed with his agent his place in the team would be jeopardised. It eventually led to him being frozen out.

Players have found the plane booked to fly them looked like a flying coach. On one occasion Enyeama (very very vereeeeee good honourable guy) even offered with tears to charter another plane at his expense.

The problem they British Nigerian origin players have is they have been largely been brought up on. Integrity, Fair-Play, Transparency and best practice these are meals that are not served regularly at the NFF dining table.

We are Nigerians, how shocking must it be coming from England and officials begging shamelessly for settlement and money at every twist and turn.

If you have not lived in Nigeria before you could easily think you are in a Zoo. For me I am use to it from airport to Office to Road you will get bros find me sumtin. To us it may seem normal but coming from England it's like Wow which planet, I deh.

For me, I actually enjoy all the bros how far, anything for d boys it's like welcome home music to my ears. I Love it.

I deh see Thiago well a lot, I can talk to Sakho, Ojo as per it's African black ting but not Thiago.

He's been playing U23 youth football at Liverpool for years hasn't cut it for me. He's just been sold to Reading If I'm right. He is not ready for Eagles he might play as per he isn't getting into Portuguese national team. But he has played regular at youth level for Portugal so might believe he can get into senior team. To me he's a non starter.

We don't need to be pessimistic about this issue. What we need to do now is to approach them and tell them they have a better future with the Super Eagles than the Lions. grin

Eagles Watch- Sadiq Umar Returns, Eduok Nets, Joy For Raheem Lawal, Kingsley Madu Taste Defeat

Nigeria Olympic star forward Sadiq Umar played his first game for Bologna in over three months bringing to an end a frustrating on the sidelines.

Injuries have limited his appearances for Bologna, where he will spend the rest of the season on loan, but his return was not the best as his team fell 1-3 to Sampdoria despite his introduction in the 45th minute for Mattia Destro.

In Turkey on loan Esperance of Tunisia forward Emem Eduok picked up the man of the match award after bagging a goal and an assist for Kasimpasa in their 4-0 thrashing of league leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.

The other Nigerian at Kasimpasa Kenneth Otigba was an unused substitute just as it has been in the league for him, despite his goal scoring act from the defensive in the Cup games.

Still in Turkey, Raheem Lawal had a first half to remember in a long time for Kayserispor as they shock league giants Galatasaray 2-1 away from home.

Lawal was substituted four minutes after the hour mark when his influence on the game waned, but the out of favour Eagles midfielder didn’t believe so as he showed his dismay at been taking off by the manager.

Super Eagles deputy left back Kingsley Madu ended up on the losing side with Belgium title challengers Zulte-Waregem who were beaten 2-4 by Anderlecht.

Madu was introduced for Brian Hamalainen with just seven minute left to play in the tie, which further reduced their hope of nicking the title at the end of the regular season in Belgium.

Uche Agbo’s La-Liga Bad Boy Tag Worsens As Eibar Thrash Granada 4-0

On loan Watford midfielder Uche Agbo was part of the Granada team who were hammered 4-0 by Eibar last night in a La-Liga game.

Agbo was on from start to finish in the tie that further compounded the relegation worries of Granada, who are 19th on the 20 team La-Liga table after picking up just 13 points in 22 games.

More worrisome for the Nigerian is his propensity to pick up bookings in games, as he went into the referee’s book once again in the 69th minute, when he was shown a yellow card for foul play.

The caution was his 8th yellow card of the season in 17 games, aside the red card he was issued against Osasuna on the 15th of January 2017.

Since returning from a three match ban he has picked up two consecutive yellow cards in the two games he has played against Las Palmas and Eibar.

So far he has three yellow cards and a red card in his last four games, a record that put him among the bad boys in the La-Liga..

Iheanacho Snubbed Again… But May Return Soon

Posted By: Adeniyion:
February 14, 2017

Kelechi Iheanacho continues to be snubbed by Manchester City Manager, Pep Guardiola after the Spaniard overlooked the 20-year-old and did not include him in Monday’s Premier League match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Nigerian international, who has featured for the Cityzens 15 times in the EPL and returned 5 goals has also been dropped from the club’s UEFA Champions League squad for the knockout rounds.

Though he has been training with the main team.

However, Pep may be forced to recall the City ADS graduate after £25m Brazilian import, Gabriel Jesus suffered a knock early in Monday’s game against the Cherries.

Sergio Aguero, who has also been dropped to the bench, was called in as his replacement.

If the 19-year-old Jesus fails to shake the injury off before City’s next game, Kelechi may return.

Cameroon Need A Win Against Us More Than We Do…Rohr

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr says Cameroon have a lot to worry about than Nigeria when both teams clash when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers resumes in September.

Nigeria will defend their four point lead over second placed Cameroon when both teams clash in back to back games later in the year, but Rohr believes the African Champions have a lot to worry about than his team.

“When we win the next game in Cameroon it will be very okay for us to be in Russia. I am always confident and I think we have a good team . The quality of our team is a good team and if we were at the cup of nations , we have stood a chance of winning it.

“We have a young team, our team is motivated . Cameroon are now a very good team now with different players of course, they are not so young when you look at the average age of their players it’s 26, the youngest ones Bassogog and the goalkepper so the other ones are not so young.

“We are a younger team we have an experience captain who now plays in China, we will have I hope so two new players who will help us when we get to play them, we’ll see very interesting games against Cameroon because they know they must beat us or at least a draw to stand a chance of going to Russia.”

. Cameroon Targets Picking Four Points off Eagles

February 14, 2017

Reigning African Champions, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are hoping they can pick at least four points off Nigeria’s Super Eagles when both teams clash in crunch 2018 World Cup qualifiers starting in August.

Nigeria is to welcome Cameroon to Uyo on August 28, while the return leg match will be played on September 2 in Limbe.

According to Assistant Coach of the Cameroon senior national team, Sven Vandenbroeck,
“We will need at least four points against Nigeria,” Vandenbroeck said on a radio interview yesterday.
“They will be two difficult games.

“But August is still six months away, it’s a long way to go.”
The Belgian coach further revealed he watched the Eagles beat Algeria 3-1 in another World Cup qualifier in November.

“I watched Nigeria against Algeria. They are a good team, have talented players and play as a group,” he remarked of the Super Eagles under Gernot Rohr’s watch.

“I believe they were disappointed not to be at the AFCON,” observed the coach who assisted Hugo Broos to return the Lions to the summit of African football once more at the AFCON hosted by Gabon.

Nigeria leads the World Cup qualifying Group B with six points after two rounds of matches, while the Cameroonians are on two points. Both Zambia and Algeria have a point each.

Vandenbroeck insisted that the Indomitable Lions will be lifted for the titanic World Cup double header after their AFCON triumph in Gabon.

“Mentally, our confidence has been boosted as we are now African champions,” he said.
Cameroon is due to play two friendlies against Morocco next month before they feature at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia in the summer.

Ilori was highly rated at Sporting Lisbon academy. He was their best player in the academy and later he emerged as the Portuguese youth team captain,a team which dominated European youth tournaments.
But for what it's worth, his progress haven't gone as anticipated. At 23yrs old, he should be inside the first team of his club. A footballer still playing youth football at 23 usually goes on a downward spiral.
I said the same of Semi Ajayi at Arsenal before he was binned by Arsenal.

Ilori is not good enough to displace any of our CBs. A player who can't make the Liverpool bench cannot make the super eagles bench.

I still remembered when he was bought by Liverpool for that fee and that was why I followed him.

However, I have seen Ibe and Ojo closely and I can you Ojo is more technical than Ibe.

The reason he is not making the first team the has to do with the injury he sustained before this season commenced and it has nothing to do with his ability.

I think he sometimes uses his right foot and he is more skilful than Ibe.

When I saw Ibe yesterday, it seems he doesn't know what to do with the ball when he has it.

Well, I want to assess him again.

Truth is that we have been kicked in our teeth by virtually all these foreing born Nigerians in the past.

I still have an old 2003 magazine where Charlton Cole identified his Nigerian/Sierra Leonean heritage and indicated interest in playing for Nigeria.
Even Celestine Babayaro was astonished by the somersault when England came calling.
How about Shola Ameobi? I still remember clearly in an interview by Dare Esan, where he said he pledged his alliance to England " for all the right reasons". Patrick Owomoyela flirted with the idea of playing for us. Immediately Klinsmann called off he went.
You remember Sidney Sam was invited by Siasia as a guest with his father in the friendly in Abuja against Argentina? Sidney Sam claimed he was ready for international football with Nigeria, a few months later he denied he ever considered Nigeria. How did you feel when you read him lie to the world?
How about Nedum Onuoha? His mom want out of her way to make sure he didn't accept playing for us.
The list is almost endless, you still have Jordan Ibe, Chuba Akpom Solanke at one time in he past declining.

The see guys aren't loyal to us, I don't blame them really. That's the Gospel truth.

Goldfish80,
As you already know playing tip tap football in Portugal is a world away from the EPL. When he first came to Liverpool he was fish out of water.

He couldn't cope with the physicality he spent a considerable time beefing up. But it's mostly synthetic protein muscle he lacks athleticism to compete for a CB place in Eagles. Saw him a live a month or so ago playing in a back three with Gomez (younger but much better) and Sakho playing against Burnley U23.

Forgiveness please open your korokoro, Ibe was initially competing with Raheem and was exceptional technically speaking. Ojo' s skill set is simply pace and run into space, once he meets a fast defender his options become almost zero. Ibe has lost form badly in this AFC Bournemouth team unfortunately.

However, Ibe is considerably better in technique, stronger not sure who is faster as Ibe doesn't just rely on pace. In terms of end product goals Ojo may edge him slightly.

Goldfish80,

Problem deh sometimes the family circumstance can impact negatively. But you could have highlighted those who did play and gave thier all.

Hope Akpan, Sone Aluko, recently then in the past Danny Shittu, George Abbey.

Chuba is not good enough simply, although he is willing. Ibe great kid you know say deh original Dad is not on the scene, it's his step Dad that brought him up. Solanke matter even more complicated just like Dele Alli absent Nigerian fathers have impacted negatively.

There are a few up and coming who we should be courting as future prospects.

Aina at Chelsea should be invited now. I don't know if he will I haven't asked him directly. Ibe I can say conclusively for now it's a No.

Aina at Chelsea should be invited now. I don't know if he will I haven't asked him directly. Ibe I can say conclusively for now it's a No.

Of course down the years a few of them have turned out for us. The likes of Anichebe took a lot of persuasion from national team captain then, Yobo before he opted for us. I don't know so much much about Hope Akpan. Abbey George is a pure naija boy. He cut his football teeth in Nigeria with Sharks in Ph. I think Yobo knew him from Ph, his relationship influenced his call up to the national team.
Sony Aluko is one stand out from the lot. The guy loves naija to the core. In interviews he can't stop talking about the national team. If all them forming borns were as committed and in tune with naija like him, we won't be having this discussion.

Aina I believe will play for us. Not so long ago, he sent some of his personal boots down to Nigeria to some academies. Something Jay Jay Okocha have never done.

There's this Switzerland guy Olishe capped. I have heard nothing about him. You know him?

Haba! How many have kicked us in the face? grin

Did David Alaba kicked us in the face or we kicked him in his face?

Did Kenneth Otigba kicked us in the face?

Did Leon Balogun, Troost Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Carl Ikeme, Tyronne Ebuechi, Brain Idowu, Victor Moses, etc kicked us in the face? grin

Don't forget that these players are currently the best in the National team.

Remember, we had Reuben Agboolar, Victor Anichebe, Olofinjana etc?

As you can see, your point is not correlating with the facts on ground.

The numbers of those who accepted to play for us are more than those who 'kicked us in the face'.

Moreover, we can't because of these black sheeps among them condemn the angels still waiting for a call up. grin

How many of our CB can make the Liverpool team and not to talk of Bench? grin

This same guy played regularly for Sporting Lisbon 'FIRST TEAM' before he was sold to Liverpool.

He played in the Spanish league with Granada and in the French league with Bordeaux.

How can you say he is not fit for the national team?

The truth is, he doesn't suit the English Football. That's all.

And what is happening to the likes of Sone Aluko? Rejected, forsaken and forgotten. Why? grin

Which player will see that and still want to play for Nigeria? grin

Bros no vex, the truth can be bitter

What makes good exceptional players is ability to adapt. That single out the men from the boys, Ilori failed woefully.

Liverpool bought him in 2013 at 19yrs old for upwards of £7 million 4 years later he has not smelled first team, sorry my Bro that is in football terms is FAILURE.

He has been warming not bench U23 and a few moi moi loan moves, for almost 4 years. 16 year old boys have played first team and he has not, 12 year old boys who were in thier nappies literally have over taken him.

He has been there so long because basically as Igbo man go say, Bad Market.

Goldfish80,
As you already know playing tip tap football in Portugal is a world away from the EPL.

I know Ibe was ahead of Ojo during their days in the academy but we are now talking about professional football, please.

The first @bolded said it all and the second @bolded put the nail in the coffin about Ibe. grin

Now, let us ask ourselves why Klopp allowed Ibe to go but kept Ojo. grin

Of course, na bad market, na but.....

Wait ooooooo. Do you know how many players have failed when they came to the Premier-league but after they left picked up again?
