The market surely knows how to distract investors.... grin
It is now that one should be concentrating on getting good dividend that JIJO opportunities are opening up everywhere.
I am a CHEETAH in this game. I never change my TARGET until DIVIDEND SEASON is over. NO FLIRTING.... grin grin grin
Shockingly, all these JIJO opportunities will ALL still be there after the dividend season..... grin grin grin
If you flirt now, you will only cheat yourself.... grin grin grin

DIVIDEND YIELD is important in this season.
A stock like WAPCO paying even the same N3.00 and selling at N42 may not match ZENITH.

You forgot WAPCO price appreciation moves at Jet speed.

If WAPCO drop N3 this year you wont get the stock @ N50.

Remember Conoil drama last year, people cannot buy after dividend was declared.

jideflash:
As a patriotic and hopeful Nigerian running a SME in nigeria with a small generator set (2.5kva) just to power few laptops, fans and other basic appliances in the office, if i include weekends as i tend to work at home also. i spend an average of N1,500 / day on fuel to generate electricity for just 10hours.
1,500 naira x 365 days = N547,500 yearly.

N547,500 is exclusive of maintenance and repairs, which comes often due to the Generator set overuse.

Lets not forget that Nigeria since 2015 has not produced a Litre of Petrol domestically, meaning All petrol consumed have been imported. Can you imagine the Revenue lost daily via Forex to this. Now with the total collapse of the Power Sector, we are only dependent on our Generators and Imported Fuel.

My Suggested Solution:
1. Improve the power generation back to atleast 5GW. this will give breathe back to still surviving companies and spring new ones.
2. Immediate repair of the Existing refineries, We need to stop our reliance on imported petrol especially in this time of volatile oil prices and escalated Forex Differential.
3. Give subsidy or incentives to alternative and renewable Power source. such as Solar and Wind ( which i feel should be Tax & Duty free). Most of the commercial-scale Wind turbines installed today are 2 MW in capcity and cost roughly $2-$3 million.
4. Setup of the modular refineries by harnessing the talents of the illegal operators in the ND, who already have showed possibility of local production is small scale.
5. Sincerely Develop the Niger Delta with action (not propaganda). Its their oil, they suffer most from it. If its not fair to them, the Restiveness will never end.

At the end of the day, We have a President that can Pickup Trump's call anytime but cant give Nigerians a simple 1 minute video to dispel the rumours of the death, Knowing quite well the rumours have a way of affecting economic and political decisions, hereby chasing away more Foreign and Local Investors.

If I have N547,500, I will use N40K to get a phone, N1K for Data per month.
The rest will be used for trading. No time for long stories. That is why you met us here.... grin grin grin.
Another option is to buy dollars and go to bed. They need no electricity to multiply..... grin grin grin.
CBN'S MMM is also available, called T-BILLS.
There are more opportunities now than in 2015 and there will be less again when things get better. Take it from me.

I am expecting a lot of Premature Financial Ejaculaction of results this time around.

We will position, chop and clean mouth then move over to late filers and finally complete the financial triangulation by heading to T-bills till UBA and access HY17 interim..... grin
The roadmap is quite vivid. No financial zombie formations this year.... grin grin grin

Good evening house,
I'm looking to actively trade in the NSE and i have opened accounts with both Morgan capital and meristem. I'm an ardent follower of this thread but as days go by, my confusion on the equities to invest/trade in mounts. My capital is ready but I'm scared of jumping in and making serious loses. I'm looking to get lessons and knowledge from anyone willing to teach me the pros and cons of the NSE even if it means paying for it. I reside in Abuja and I'm looking forward to replies from the experienced brains here.
Thanks.
