Hi Chiprettie, I am not travelling till end of July or very early in August, my budget is about $2,000 for accomodation. I intend leaving 2 weeks after delivery to stay with MIL who lives in Baltimore. It's a 2hrs 30mins drive by bus from Richmond to where she stays. I am really confused cos I don't want to save money on delivery fees only for accommodation to take the bulk of my funds. How close is your extended stay acc from the doc/hosp and how much? chiprettie: |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ChyG: 9:16am On Feb 17, 2017 |
chiprettie: You would be given cash but that's if you have had the account for up to 6 months. Mine is just 5 months old and I was told I couldn't apply for PTA with them. I had to resort to Stanbic. Thankfully, I got $2k at 402.9 yesterday |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by chiprettie: 9:34am On Feb 17, 2017 |
mimimum:Well the only option I have now is the extended stay and is about 1500 for a month. Atleast you have a place to go to after delivery so it depends on u, most pple living in Richmond Virginia are whites and they ask for ssn before they can rent out and it's relatively cheap as low as $600. So still weighing my option and still hunting. I have d hotel as a backup in case I dnt see any cheaper one and the hotel is about 2miles to hospital and doctor office which is a plus for me, so use so you have to consider the distance and also factor in transportation cost even if u get a cheaper accommodation which is far away from d hospital. So the option of sharing with someone comes into play. But u r a July mum and I'm april mum though there is an april/may mum using the same hosp, doc and hotel so we are stil working on how best to share or get an apartment to share. 1 Like |

My question is I wasn't showing in my last interview so no questions as to pregnancy. Will it be a problem now applying again so soon? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by MiddyO(f): 2:14pm On Feb 17, 2017 |

I think the 40 days was trigger especially as you claimed to be visiting. If you re apply so soon and your story changes to childbirth, it will be deemed that you lied or misrepresented certain facts at your last interview. You should have simple stated you were going to give birth and taken all your necessary documents eg Dr's correspondence along. 10 Likes |
