To think General Ojukwu was 33 at the start of the war is a pointer to today's youth. There's sth about his name that rings trepidation and sounds warrior-like on clashing against the ear drum. Ojukwu #Legend. That era when men were men. 4 Likes |

What's the fuss about the escape route? He was at war and at the time the most important biafran. Of course an escape route was precautionary and smart. If it houses a VIP, it definitely has an escape route! simple! 7 Likes 1 Share |

SalamRushdie: Every Soldier is trained to escape in a hopeless situation. Ojukwu would have been a fool to allow himself to be captured or killed. Both would have happend to him if he had stayed back. I dont really understand these people who say that Ojukwu is a coward who ran away. Are these people stupid? Why would Ojukwu stay back to die when he had an escape route? Staying back to die when you can escape with your life is not an act of bravery, it is an act of stupidity 2 Likes |

not very impressive bunker to be fair . thought it would hv been a lot more sophisticated. i sincerely dont understand why Igbo still support Ojukwu who brought war and misery to them. could have negotiated an end after Enugu was over ran. negotiated = meaning he could have tabled resolutions that would have been favourable to biafrans lime reinstating worker etc back to their previous posts remember he would have been negotiating with a meek yakubu who undoubted didnt have the stomach for war. why even bring the war to your home. why didnt he rather plot a counter coup , of which the war and destruction would have been in lagos . with the amount of men he had and arms concentrated in the heart of the government. he would have undoubtedly succeed at a coup. previous and latter successful coups had far fewer men and resouces. Ojukwu was simply egoistic. wanted the title of an emperor. a fantasy of a new country, his country. Did you know Ojukwu and his mercenaries had a backup plan to take over Equatoria Guinea when Biafra became a failing project ? 1 Like
