seyewest: At the border while seeking entry, you are not bound by same rights as someone already inside. They have the right to refuse entry if you do not provide password and any other information sought. You will not only write the password out, you will also explain things found. 1-Yes American citizens provide password when needed, read up on the NASA Engineer who was made to unlock a Government issued phone with sensitive information and data. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2017/02/a-nasa-engineer-is-required-to-unlock-his-phone-at-the-border/516489/ 2- Most Nigerians who are returned tell lies about their ordeal. 1 Like |

seyewest: You're seeking entry to a country that is not yours. You have no rights, well except the right to board the next available flight back home... where you would then be free to refuse to give your password to anyone. |

TWoods:Stop talking like the only people traveling to U.S is for vacation... The instance they demanded for your password then it's out of line.. if they asked for username to your Social Media accounts that make sense but password bro forget it.. Ask for your right.. maybe you thought it's a normal thing but I tell you it's not normal at all. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 1:51pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
constance234:Apart from this wildly talked about incident do you have anyother like this online? not the Canadian one.... it is a violation of your digital privacy right for them to demand password to your account,Social Media... they can ask for the username not the account. Because we are from Nigeria does not mean that we don't have right... You can ask for your right and attorney but they won't tell you that at POE. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by PHOOMI(f): 2:42pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
I was denied a visa to attend a conference last year June, in my form I filled that my salary is 120,000 instead of 120,378, and also my job description as a sales representative, I didn't explain further. I didn't include that I get quarterly incentives of between 8&12% of my annual salary. I also didn't include that I'm a cocoa farmer, though not exporting yet but sells locally for now, I make the bulk of my money from my farm. Now I 'll like to go on a vacation with my daughter to New York, I have some places in mind already, now that I made manager my salary increased just a little. I 'll like to know if I need to put all those other money I make and how in my form and where will I explain them and to what length. Thanks |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 3:16pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
PHOOMI: First of all.. changing your salary from N120,000 to N120,378 will make no difference and also you must include all the income you received in a month... if you get some incentive in terms of cash every 4 months you will divide the amount by 4 months and add the balance to your monthly salary.. about the cocoa business if you work in a bank I'm not sure about how much time you have to take care of the cocoa business also why do you wanna travel with your daughter alone what about her mom? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by PHOOMI(f): 4:32pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
seyewest:thanks for replying, I have workers who manage my farm I only supervise, I visit often too nd my salary now is 170,000, I don't work in a bank and I am the mom. |

seyewest: I was at the POE in Newark barely a month ago and watched this happen to two people live - one a European and the other an Asian lady. At the POE, you really don't have any rights at all. Fair warning. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by constance234: 5:03pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
seyewest:At the POE The Fourth Amendment, which protects people from searches and seizures without probable cause of a crime being committed, doesn't apply in the same way at the border. Please clear your phone and other electronic devices of questionable materials, simple. I bet when you are put on the spot, you will gladly add you ATM pin when not even asked.... I have added some legit links below on the subject, please read through. http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/16/us/border-legal-rights-faq-trnd/ http://www.businessinsider.com/can-us-border-agents-search-your-phone-at-the-airport-2017-2 https://www.quora.com/Is-it-legal-for-a-US-customs-border-protection-officer-to-go-through-all-the-pictures-on-my-phone-without-asking-my-permission https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/176/~/cbp-search-authority 2 Likes |

seyewest: Ha madam seyewest, I don't disrespect people and never will insult you. Before you can call someone a spammer, first of all go thru all my post and read carefully all my questions both on this page and on other forum. I said I'm still in school final year student and how do I fill my form to date cos it doesn't accept sept 2017. Also, I own my business with three branches as well which I asked question abt how to fill the income part and as a banana plantation farmer. I just need to enlightened and not to be called a spammer pls get that straight and if you can't save a soul you better keep mute than to insult. I also ask if I should print my company statey with my personal statey or just personal cos I don't know if I'll be asked of it. All I need is to be educated because I've applied before and got denied via agent and this time around I'm trying to do it myself and I believed there is no harm in asking series of question to avoid costly and silly mistake. Pls help me out, just want to know if I should ignore the student aspect of it and keep to being a biz man but the fear is if I'm asked have I acquire any degree since 2011 that I was denied student visa. cheldas: how did you agent fill your form before, did he jump the school, the answer is NO, .. to my understanding we have many successful story for students who are still in school, and they got B1/B2 visa, |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 8:46am On Feb 20, 2017 |
cheldas:Ist Seye is a guy 2nd. I purposely jumped your question because I wanted you to figure it out by yourself thru a little work/research.if you tried and a future date didn't go, did you try inputting same date as in the actual date you are filling your application so it kinda speaks for itself that you are a student to date and then you clarify if the vo needs that. Again why the repeated sttement of account question? Is it that you have not seen it said here that they aren't required...? Repeatedly so.if you still want to go ahead and print then print anyone that pleases you |

cheldas: I'm not a madam I'm a man and also saying you're spamming the thread is not an insult.. I understand you want people to answer your question as soon as possible but you've posted the same questions more than once that is spamming and I have no reason to insult you.. Hope we are clear on this issue sir. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by PHOOMI(f): 11:04am On Feb 20, 2017 |
seyewest:okay I'm still in a paid employment, a centre manager with one of the telecom coys, cocoa farming is seasonally but when we sell after all the process and all profits comes in couple of 6figures. I guess I 'll just divide the profit I make in my farm nd add it up to what I make at my job nd leave out explaining about my farm. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 11:06am On Feb 20, 2017 |
PHOOMI:You should divide your profit from cocoa by 12 months and add the amount to your salary.... |

Please who as booked and payed for airticket on skyscanner before? Did you pay in Dollars or Naira I need to book and pay for ticket to IAH Thanks |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 4:43pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
HelenaEdwin:Skyscanner will take you to the airline site except you choose to use an agent site which means you must pay with a dollar enable card... Try Travelstart or wakanow because it will be easier for you to use Nigeria local card for instant payment. |
