Reno is grasping at straws.

The lawyer has already disclosed his close friendship to the Judge, and has stated he gave a wedding gift to the Judge who happened to be the father of the bride.

N500K sounds about right as a gift for the calibre of people involved in the giving and the receiving.

How this is related to Buhari is what I am yet to understand with the apologists of corruption fighting tooth and nail for survival.

Nothing will stand in the way of the fight to rid Nigeria of corruption.

Now!! Hehehe......... grin

You have arrived at Grand Central Zero of 21 questions.

Let breakdown the matter, assuming PDP wasn't in pieces, this is the questions that they should have asked.

We cannot prove that Buhari sent the money, but by DSS and Buhari's lawyer's submission: Justice Ademola is a personal friend of Buhari's lawyer.

Is it proper for a judge to entertain a case before a personal friend?
If no, then the lawyer that Presented the certificate case can demand for a review of the Judgement on the ground that Awodein was a friend of the Judge, hence conflict of interest and bias.

Also, if truly it was okay for Awodein to present "gifts" to his friend, why do so through a proxy - Agi - transferring to Agi and then Agi sent to wife and the wife sent to Husband......... undecided

Why will a lawyer send cash to a Judge, through a proxy, before a Judge who gave you a Favourable Judgement in a case you had before him?

And if this weak deposition by DSS in court wasn't about protecting Buhari, why was Agi arrested and Awodein left alone. Why is Ricky Tarfa facing trial for the same offence that Awodein/Agi is about to go Scot free for?

The DSS guy said they didn't investigate whether Agi or the people that Contributed cash had a case before the justice.

A simple invitation and check of Awodein bank statements would have revealed if Buhari ever sent #500,000 to Awodein; but Babatunde - the DSS guy - is claiming that when they saw the letter stating that the cash was a gift to Justice Ademola, they stopped investigating....Why?

If they are not protecting or trying to avoid investigating Buhari; why did they stop the INVESTIGATION? angry

You don't get proof by making assumption, but by investigations.

And in this case when they saw Buhari's man investigation stopped......

All you keep asking for is; is there any link between Buhari and the #500k sent to Justice Ademola. According to the DSS guy, Buhari's lawyer said no, so it is true.

But you forget that the same DSS, came to court and said there was no petition of corruption against Justice Ademola. But when they arrested him, they claimed they had a petition which they used to get a warrant from magistrate court to effect his arrest. Shey you see contradiction.......

Also, why haven't they arrested Awodein till now?

The DSS guy said that when he saw the letter showing the cash was a gift for Justice Ademola's daughter's, he ended his investigation.

But Agi was arrested for bribing Ademola for cases, since he knew that Awodein was part of the people that brought cash, wouldn't an investigation into cases Awodein had with Ademola have been the first thing he would have done to justify the arrest of Agi?

It's obvious that there was no petition before the DSS and the one DSS presented to the press before was a fabrication to justify the way and manner Ademola was arrested. Plus the DSS mandate doesn't include cases like this, which is why EFCC is prosecuting it and not DSS.

But to say that they didn't know that Awodein had defended a case before Buhari is to call themselves dumb, just so that they can exonerate Awodein and Agi and The Ademola's.

Period..........

If you were Yoruba or you know the culture, you won't have made this stupid remark.

Close family and close friends of the parents of the bride and groom give money to the parents, even if they will still buy gifts for the couple.

It is not conceivable that a learned, experienced SAN would be oblivious to the glaring ethical implications of GIFTING a judge presiding over an important case of which is he, the SAN, is the defending counsel.

Even the stupidest, the most ignorant layperson would understand that a Senior Advocate, one who is assumed to know and be the champion of legal ethics, should not under any circumstances, have outside courtroom contacts, talkless of giving a GIFT, even if a Penny, to a judge presiding over a case, a very politically important case of great national significance, of which the Senior lawyer is the defending lawyer.

No layperson could make such a thoughtless, monumental error, talkless of a legal luminary representing a presidential candidate, unless the senior lawyer knew exactly the nature and envisaged reward for the GIFT giving .

Your argument is very factual and logical, yet you ignore that culture and friendship demanded that the lawyer support his friend financially for an event that would not be postponed to avoid such conflict.

Except you can prove that no social relationship previously existed between the two?

Except you can prove that N500k was too much a gift between two accomplished mature friends for such a high society wedding?

Except you can prove that Buhari wired same money to the lawyer who then forwarded same to the Judge?

This bullshit, and you know it.
If the judge and defending lawyer had a relationship that transcends professional ethics, then both or either would have rightfully recused themselves from the case.

Is there any culture in the world that doesn't value friendship ?
Are you saying that our culture puts or should put friendship above legal and professional ethics, common decency and the law ?

Do you know what the designation ' Senior Advocate Of Nigeria' stands for , and how it is earned ?

Just listen to yourself.
Whether N500k or N50, it is still an inappropriate, unethical gift to a judge- the very definition of Bribe.
Now, if Buhari's lawyer says that he bribed a judge without Buhari's consent, then that's another issue we would address when that time comes.
For now, all we know is that Buhari's lawyer bribed a judge, obviously for the benefit of Buhari.

Nigeria my country.

So let us get something straight. The SAN in question is only PMBs lawyer and no one else's? Is that even possible?

Let us assume it was a bribe, the bribe couldn't be from any of the SAN's clients? It had to be from PMB, now, because Justice Ademola is in trouble?

Is this not a cheap lie and blackmail? The same kind Ngwuta tried to pull when he claimed Amaechi tried to bribe him too, and after he refused, they sent DSS and EFCC at him?

So PMB wants to bribe a sitting judge in a case of such high magnitude and popularity, then he uses 500k grin grin while the Judge himself doesn't alert constituted authority and decides to conveniently do that through a witness only when he is charged for financial crime in another unrelated issue?

500k is now sufficient enough to buy cases in Nigeria when GEJs people would have paid the judge well over ten times that number so the case could favor them. Yet Justice Ademola collected the 500k?

I think this issue is as asinine as asinine can be.
. In my book, u've showed from your deposition here to be one of very few thinkers on this platform. And I like to believe u already know these wailing wailers are only interested in points that satisfy their thoughts, their own warped, mischievous logic. You are just beating round the bush, did Buharis lawyer do something ethically wrong, yes, did he do it on behalf of Buhari, we don't know, was the judge wrong to accept it yes, revisiting the case is left to the judicial commission, leave Buhari out of it, as u have no case technically and hold the incompetent DSS and EFCC responsible.

Again, this shows that many have no appreciation of the ethics of their profession. I also insist that culture plays a lot in this problem, same way the African family culture also makes corruption of the office holder a problem that is difficult to tackle.

Let the lawyer prove, he was sent to do so by Buhari

This is where you are wrong, the fundamental standard in law is that the burden of proof rests with the accuser and not the accused.

I don't order for your arrest and ask you to come and prove yourself innocent, rather I arrest you and come and prove you guilty. That where the concept of "Innocent until proven guilty cones up".

The accuser in this case is DSS/EFCC and not Agi, Justice Ademola or his wife.

For the record, EFCC is prosecuting the case, but DSS is the one handling investigations.

Both agencies are directly answerable to the Presidency and not the Judiciary in any way. Both agencies are not answerable to the NJC nor NBA but Buhari himself.

So it is not the Job of the lawyer to prove Buhari partook, it was the part of the prosecutors - DSS/EFCC - to do so.

Only for DSS to say they didn't investigate because they didn't see the need; why? Because they saw a letter from Buhari's Lawyer saying it was a gift.

Does that sound like sufficient evidence to prove a man as influential as Buhari innocent in today's Nigeria?

You arrest a man for collecting bribe and another for sending bribe but when it's time to investigate/arrest the source of the bribe, you said no need? Why?

Because the source of the cash wrote a letter to the sender of the bribe saying that the money is a gift, coincidentally that source of the bribe or "gift", defended a case before the judge - who received the bribe - and got favourable judgement.

Coincidentally, the person the source of the bribe defended is your Boss and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You all of a sudden are now willing to believe that it was a gift and not a bribe and stopped all investigations immediately. ..........

Alot of Nigerians may not have the influence to push for Justice in this case but that doesn't mean a lot of Nigerians are naive.

I Can bet you that if an investigation was allowed to go through, Cash transfer of #500k would have shown on Buharis bank statement. That is all they need to rope in Awodein inside that case, that is also what the NJC needs to see to autonomously demand for a review of Ademola's judgement on Buhari's certificate case.

Most assuredly, Buhari will fail and that will be the end of his Presidency.

If that happens, it first and best person to argue case. Either Kwakwanso or Jonathan will be up for the seat, assuming APC or PDP puts the best argument in court.

That's why the investigation into Awodein gift was never allowed to sail through in case you don't know.....

False again (as usual)..........

The accusation came from the press based on information leaked by anonymous sources which explains why Awodein had to issue a denial and the Presidency too did same.

The question is, to which an obvious answer already exist; why will DSS suddenly stop investigating, if truly the entire process wasn't initially meant to malign Ademola for refusing to cooperate in some cases on his table........

So Awodein says it's a gift and it doesn't involve Buhari and that wraps up an investigation that prosecution lined up 19 different witnesses for?

So Awodein says it's a gift and it doesn't involve Buhari and that wraps up an investigation that prosecution lined up 19 different witnesses for?

But Andrew yakubu also said the $9.7million is a gift too but the investigation and trial is still ongoing. Which level. .......

Na God win sha. ...........

You said here Buhari paid this money through his lawyer

ehissi:

Agi, who is a lawyer sent his own through the wife, Buhari sent his own through lawyer because the circumstances are similar. If the case is pursued further, even of they escape conviction, a case may be established against them by NJC/NBA.

like I said if the said lawyer, committed an ethical misconduct by giving and the judge exhibited professional misconduct by accepting, the should face the music.
What I want you to prove is how Buhari bribed a San with 500,000 through his lawyer. That the EFCC and DSS are now trying to close the case proves nothing.
Simply prove beyond reasonable doubt that the N500,000 was paid on behalf of Buhari as u claimed.

Former Aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has mocked President Buhari and his Lawyer, saying PMB calls his "bribe" a "gift".

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari believes in "transformation Agenda".. Recall that the Ex-President Jonathan had a "Transformation agenda" during his tenure.

He said "So if I take bribe and call it gift, according to @FemAdesina, it transforms from bribe to 'gift'? So PMB believes in Transformation Agenda!"

President @MBuhari and his lawyer have shown us the way. Call your corruption 'gift' & EFCC will look the other way. All hail PMB & Awodein!

If you're PDP, your gift is defined as bribe, but if you're PMB's lawyer, your bribe is defined as gift. Welcome to the new improved Nigeria

Everybody gives gifts but some gifts are more equal than others. For tips on giving EFCC approved gifts, see President @MBuhari's lawyer!

The DEODORANT has been sprayed on Lawyer Awodein and the INSECTICIDE is being sprayed on Justice Ademola. Now I understand @shehusani well!

If you will like a GIFT retweet this. If you would prefer a BRIBE, fave this. If you don't know the difference, contact @MBuhari's lawyer!

He added; "RIDDLE: What do Arik and PMB have in common?"

ANSWER: They are both prone to frequent postponement/cancellation of flights back to Nigeria
