I studied civil engineering, graduated 15 years ago with a second class upper. I have worked in a bank for 10years. now I want to move to a career I think I will enjoy since its 15 years ago. I'd like to do an environmental/civil engineering fast track 2year advanced diploma to refresh my brain, and then on to a masters program. I plan to sponsor myself. would you advice that I do the advanced diploma or go straight unto a Meng/MSc considering the 15 years in between? how can I prove a home tie? I'm married with a kid but I'm going with my child. I've got landed property alone and with my spouse. will these suffice since I can't use my job as my home tie, as I plan to resign? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 10:32pm On Feb 26, 2017 |
katyamizotta:I highlighted your above lines so you also see where you might have a big problem in your proposed study intention. Having graduated 15 years ago and without any indulging activity in civil engineering till now, the burden of conviencing a Visa officer about your intended program is almost non existent. It will speak for itself and It WONT fly! Your next possible chance will be a higher degree in finance(if your core job in the bank was finance related) considering your long standing activity in the industry. It will be assumed that it is where you have found a career and an endeavour to strive on, anything outside that will be questionable and may lead to rising doubts about your purpose of visit. Advance diploma should completely be out of your picks, You will be expected to be pursuing an MBA and not even a PGD because of your years of experience. So first make your study plans more objective, have projective intentions about your choice of propose study, It will say alot when a Vo picks up your application to review. It has to reflect perferment towards your present career and desirables in all sense of judgement. Things must be presented with a visa officer convictions in perspective and you use that stance point to put your application together They also look out for what you will be bringing to their country as well as your overal personality. So address this main issue and then you come back here for further assistance concerning other issues and i trust the great guyz here will always profer assistance to you. Best regards. 1 Like |

LMay: Cheap. Very cheap. Are you sure this is it? Cos SAS usually provide scholarship for such cheap program. If you are sure, apply. Think how you can borrow, not easy to raise such fee and upkeep. All the best 1 Like |

guzzst: If you graduated 2004, means you have 12 years experience plus nysc. You stated you applied for a 1 year course, so it's most likely PGD/PGC. These courses are often geared towards those looking to enter the job market (often those fresh out of college). You have 12years experience so thats a big question mark. Also, I'm not very knowledgeable of your field, but is supply chain management closely related to economics and your work experience? |
