robosky02:

if he keep staying at the top one day his performance will compel his demand back home
He has been so consistent in the past two seasons but I do not see him top striking for the Super Eagles because he is not in EPL.

If you are not playing in more fancied leagues, you are on your own.

It is not good, but that is how it is.

Antonio Conte: Victor Moses is now a complete player

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has described Nigerian Victor Moses as a complete player following his fine form this season.

The Super Eagles flyer has been converted into a wingback by the Italian manager and has gone from a peripheral figure at the Blues to a key player.

Conte said he knew of Moses before he arrived at Chelsea but believed he was weak defensively. Through the course of the season, the manager believes Moses has improved due to the demands placed on him by the new position.

“I knew of him, but to see him live is very important to judge a player,” said Antonio Conte, as quoted by Allnigeriasoccer.com.

“I always saw him as a winger, very good in one versus one, but a bit poor defensively.

“Then, when I decided to change the system, I wanted to try him in this new role. Now we have a complete player.”

Moses last week signed an extension to his Chelsea deal which ties him to Stamford Bridge until 2021.

NFF set March 20 as deadline for players to report for duty

Tuesday Mar 07, 2017. 10:00
Nigeria’s players called up for friendly matches later this month must report for duty by March 20, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Allnigeriasoccer.com reports that the NFF has set 13h00 on March 20 as the deadline for players to arrive at the team’s camp in London, with training under coach Gernot Rohr set to start later on the same day.

The Super Eagles are set to play two friendlies in the upcoming international window: they will face Senegal on March 23, followed four days later by a clash against Burkina Faso. Both matches will be played at the Hive Stadium in London.

Nigeria are using the matches to prepare for the start of group stage matches in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Their first game will be against South Africa in June.

Of the 25 players called up by Rohr for the March matches, no less than seven are based in England, including the likes of Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Moses.

NFF Technical Committee -Why Osimhen Was Preferred Ahead Of Odey By Gernot Rohr

The reason why the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League Stephen Odey was left out by coach Gernot Rohr has been revealed by a member of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Odey who took his goal tally to seven for the season with the winning goal for MFM in their 1-0 win over Remo Stars yesterday, was the one player many expected to be included in the Eagles squad for the friendly tie against Senegal and Burkina Faso.

The exclusion of the NPFL top scorer made former Nigeria international Emmanuel Babayaro to lash out at the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, insisting that the 18 year old deserve to be in the squad ahead of Wolfsburg Victor Osimhen.

However a member of the technical committee of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com that the exclusion of Odey was done in good faith without favoritism by the Eagles coach.

” It’s okay to criticise the list of a national team coach, but we all know that every player can’t be called up at the same time. Osimhen has been part of Rohr’s plan from the start of his reign as coach”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Odey will be given a chance by the coach in the future, for now Osimhen has the edge over him. We have to understand how Rohr works, he is a progressive, Osimhen time will come”.

Victor Moses Goal Line Clearance Rescued Chelsea Against West Ham – Bilic Suggest

Coach of West Ham United Slaven Bilic has suggested that Victor Moses saved Chelsea two points in their 2-1 win over his team in yesterday’s English Premier League clash.

Bilic whose team scored a late consolation believed the final score would have been different, if Moses didn’t clear a Soufiane Feghouli’s shot on the line with goalkepper Thibaut Courtouis beaten.

The coach believed, if that ball had gone in the 61st minute it could have changed the complexion of the game, than when they scored in time added on.

” Maybe we were a bit unlucky, we had a chance to get back into the game quickly, but it was cleared off the line. If that had gone in, we probably would have had a different result, than scoring at the time we did”, Bilic said at his post match conference.

His thought was also shared by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte who also agreed that his side were lucky to have conceded in stoppage time, saying if they had conceded a goal earlier. West Ham could have had a share of the spoils.

Rohr Retains Leicester City Ahmed Musa As Super Eagles Captain For Senegal, Burkina Faso Game, Onazi Appointed Vice

Out of favour Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa will wear the skipper band when Nigeria take on Senegal and Burkina Faso in two high profile friendly games later in the month.

Musa has fallen out of favour at Leicester City under new coach Craig Shakespeare who is in charge of the team in interim capacity following the dismissal of former boss Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri reportedly lost his job after senior players questioned his decision to start the Nigerian ahead of Demarai Gray in their 1-2 UEFA Champions League loss to Sevilla in the first leg of their round of 16 clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Shakespeare has not selected Musa since taking over as coach of the team in interim capacity, but Rohr insist on him as captain for the Eagles friendly tie despite his club travails according to a source close to the German coach.

” No way will Rohr replace Musa as vice captain. He will retain his position, he is one of the senior players in the team, you have to respect that”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Ogenyi Onazi will act as his deputy in the games against Senegal and Burkina Faso, but when Mikel Obi is in the team, they fall back to first and second assistant”.

Key Defender Ruled Out Of Nigeria Vs Senegal Friendly

Senegal coach Aliou Cissé will not be able to call on the services of R.S.C. Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji for the upcoming international friendly against Nigeria in London.

According to Jourdesport, Kara Mbodji will not be fully recovered by the time Senegal face off with the Super Eagles at the Hive Stadium on March 23 as he is expected to be out of action for at least ten days due to injury.

Since returning from the 2017 African Cup of Nations, the 27-year-old has been struggling to overcome a knee problem, which ruled him out of the Europa League fixture against Zenit St Petersburg and last weekend’s league match with KV Mechelen.

This week, Kara Mbodji has not participated in full training with the rest of his teammates at Anderlecht.

The ex-Racing Genk star has 39 caps for the Senegalese national team and has scored 4 goals.

Fifa Clarifies : Noah Bazee Can Play For Nigeria If He Has Permanent Nationality

The international governing body for football, Fifa, has cleared the air regarding the eligibility of Hannover striker Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee for the upcoming international friendly matches against Senegal and Burkina Faso.

A Nigeria Football Federation international expert earlier insisted that the German-born wonderkid will play against the West African opponents with or without an international passport.

When quizzed about the possibility of Noah Bazee representing the Super Eagles without an international passport, Fifa brought out its rule book, Regulations Governing The Application of the Statutes, stating :

“Any person holding a permanent nationality that is not dependent on residence in a certain Country is eligible to play for the representative teams of the Association of that Country.

“With the exception of the conditions specified in article 8 below, any Player who has already participated in a match (either in full or in part) in an Official Competition of any category or any type of football for one Association may not play an international match for a representative team of another Association.”

Lower Saxony-born Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee has no caps for Germany at any level, and it is believed he can represent Nigeria in international games if he obtains a Nigerian passport.

Fanendo Adi has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for the opening day in the American top-flight.

The Portland Timbers striker was recognized on the back of his performance in the Timbers 5-1 rout of Minnesota United in which he scored two late goals.

In a 4-3-3 formation, Adi was named in attack along with Romell Quioto (Houston Dynamo) and David Accam (Chicago Fire).

Adi and Diego Valeri combined for eight of the Timbers 13 shots against the Loons – four of them hitting the back of the net.

Mali also out of the WYC. That makes Nigeria and Mali, last U17 finalists, out. Mali even losing 6-1 to Zambia in one of the group matches.

The fact remains that no nation has won the U17 and 2 years later gone ahead to win the U20.

I keep saying it that, an U17 Success if not well managed would usually lead to an U20 Failure. In most cases, success at U17 would not allow for the best players under the age of 20 to be selected. I have been pointing out this fact for ages.
Teams that didn't do well at U17 would usually open the doors to other players that were not part of the U17 but teams that did well at the U17 would usually promote them automatically to an U20 level which is far more competitive and requires some level of professional experience.

Look at Nigeria's cases for instance:

U 17 1985, Winners but U20 1987, group exit @ WYC
U17 1993, Winners but U20 1995, finished 3rd @ AYC & pulled out by Gen Abacha from the WYC
U17 2007, Winners but U20 2009, 2nd round exit.
U17 2013, Winners but U20 2015, 2nd round exit.
U17 2015, Winners but U20 2017, Crashed out at AYC qualifiers.

Our U20 Teams that performed best (1989 & 2005) never won the U17 WC. I have once x-rayed the structure and composition of both teams.

The NFF needs to call a stake holders meeting and look at this worrisome trend.

The U20 age grade is more important in terms of graduating players into the senior team, but we keep failing.

Gent’s Kalu: Mechelen Clash Like A Cup Final

By Johnny Edward:

Nigerian forward Samuel Kalu has outlined Gent's ambition to finish in the Belgian Championship play-off spot following a hard-fought away win over Waasland-Beveren on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Kalu provided two assists as the Buffaloes came from a goal down to beat Waasland-Beveren 3-2. It was Gent's 13th win of the season and Kalu believes that the final league game against Mechelen on Sunday will be played as a 'Cup final'.

Mechelen defeated Anderlecht 3-2 to move fifth in the Belgian First Division A.

The victory saw Gent move to seventh in the log and close the gap on sixth placed Sporting Charleroi to just one point after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kortrijk.

A win for Gent and a defeat or draw for Sporting Charleroi who travel to Lokeren in the final league match next Sunday will secure a Championship play-off spot for Gent.

"We knew that three points were badly needed and we did everything to win them," Kalu told the Gent's official website.

"We did not really panic, even after trailing 2-1. We had confidence in a good outcome.

"Next week awaits us a heavy decisive match against KV Mechelen, we will tackle as if it were a final. We will already do everything possible to win that," he concluded.

Hibernian Goalie: Ambrose Great Addition In Our Promotion Race

Goalkeeper of Scottish Championship club Hibernian, Ofir Marciano, says Nigerian defender, Efe Ambrose's experience at the highest level will be a big plus to the club's pursuit of promotion back to the Scottish top flight.

Hibernian are currently top in the league table in the Scottish Championship on 51 points, five points ahead of second placed Fa

They are also on course to retain the Scottish Cup which they won last season as they will face Aberdeen in the semi-final.

And since joining Hibernian on loan from Celtic, Ambrose has played two games for the Edinburgh-based club, a 3-1 win against AYR United in the Cup and in a 2-0 loss to St. Mirren in the league.

And speaking on Ambrose joining Hibernian, Marciano, also a teammate of the Nigerian defender at FC Ashdod of Israel, described it as a good transfer deal.

“He’s been playing at the highest level, so for us, it’s a benefit to have him here," Marciano told Edinburgh News.

"I think it will be good for us and good for Efe who is happy to be back playing again.

“Efe obviously has that winning mentality, but when I look at our squad, I see good fighters, good players who want to win even in tough times.

“He jumped at the chance to come here which is good, but you don’t look on Hibs as a Championship club but as one of the top four in the country.

“It’s a massive club, one that Efe knows from playing against Hibs and I know he feels he has made a good decision.”

Recalling their days together in Israel, Marciano said: “There were a few Nigerian players. Israel is a nice country, nice weather and warm people so it was easy to adapt. It’s like that here in Scotland, I feel everyone has welcomed me and so it’s been easy to adapt to the football and the lifestyle.

“But Efe is the sort who could adapt to living and playing anywhere, he’s a happy guy. He’s a good friend of mine, so I’m glad he’s come to Hibs because he will be a good addition to the squad.

“We had a good partnership at Ashdod and, to be honest, it’s as if we’ve never stopped playing together. It’s good to have someone you have played with before and the chemistry will get better, not just with me but the rest of the team. I don’t think either of us would have thought for one minute when we were together at Ashdod that we’d be team-mates together again in Scotland, never mind Hibs.

“But that’s the nice part of football, you never know what might happen. You have to dream if you want to achieve good things.”

The proof is in the pudding. Look how many of Manu's boys are already in the super eagles, that is the job not winning a youth trophy. I still support immediate promotion for champions. If u are the u17 champion of the world it is obvious to go on to play u20. Manu's boys won the ayc with style, I don't know why people keep trying to erase that. His team destroyed our top local clubs at the time. Looking at Sudan I will go to my grave knowing that what happened in Lagos was a sick fluke, if we play again we will destroy Sudan.

He’s Played In Champions League – Neil Lennon Backs Hibernian Signing of Efe Ambrose
Hibernian boss Neil Lennon has defended Efe Ambrose after signing the 28-year-old on loan from Celtic, reminding his critics that the Nigerian has played in the Champions League and regularly collected trophies.

Ambrose has found life at Celtic tough in recent seasons and was expected to join English Championship side Blackburn Rovers in last month's transfer window.

But Ambrose saw his proposed move to Ewood Park fall apart due to work permit issues and was looking at another six months of kicking his heels at Celtic until Lennon came calling.

The defender has joined on an emergency 93-day loan and Lennon insists he has a top notch player.

"It's almost as if the previous four years has been erased from his football career", Lennon explained to STV.

"This is a guy who's played Champions League against the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan.

"He's won doubles, he's won league championships, he's won the Africa Cup of Nations. The list goes on."

Lennon admits Ambrose has often been guilty of errors, however he insists mistakes are just par for the course for any player, stressing he feels Hibs have done well to bring in the Celtic man.

"Yes, he's had some mistakes but I played with players, Bobo Balde for example, who made a couple of high-profile errors as well.

"Sometimes there's nothing you can do about that. They're human beings at the end of the day.

"For me, he's a very consistent player and I think we've done good business", Lennon added.

Hibernian currently sit top of the Scottish Championship table with a seven-point lead over second placed Dundee United and Lennon will hope Ambrose can help push his team over the line in the promotion chase.

Stop making up lies. U can't even tell me of one instance that Efe Ambrose was beaten for pace yet u say he lost speed. If u like read this article and still continue the charade.

Can you tell me the lie I made up? You are just quoting articles. Ambrose was not a poor player for the Super Eagles at the World Cup. That was after the AFCON. If you can just understand something so basic, you will dump the theory.

Ambrose faded out after the World Cup and lost his speed. Ambrose is no more that player who would pick the ball from the defence and run forward with ease.

I can not give you the date but I am mentioning basic fact. Your ideology of Ambrose error causing him to fade is totally wrong. He went to the World Cup as one of the key players after that.

I wonder why something so simple is hard to grasp. After that, Ambrose injured and it came to a point, Onazi played as a right back for the team. This happened after the injury.

After that, we have not had the Ambrose we used to know.

Point out the lie in what I said before throwing accusations.

How can you even ask for one instance Ambrose was beating for space? Very funny. Please go and watch the Neymar clip when he ripped Ambrose to shreds. It even made some of Neymar skill clips. It was like a Keke Napep (Ambrose) vs a Ferrari. How many times does Ambrose name ever come up in suggestions for our full back roles.

Ambrose didn't fade away because of injury, so that's a lie right there or at the least u are mixed up.

Somebody has been reported injured. Out of london friendly and football for 12 weeks. Guess another player should be called up in attack. Onyekuru, kalu or adi
How come our centerbacks of leon balogun & Ekong has not played club footy for almost a month now? And yet that seem no big deal to our team selectors

Hahahahahahahaha I thought u said Ambrose was superman back in 2013? So why bring ur instance from there? That clip u saw was from the 2013/2014 champions league, the one before the world cup. Celtic actually won the return leg and Efe was key in the match. Ambrose didn't play against barca this year. So please state ur instance, tricks are for kids.

What point does this post make for you before saying I am making up lies. Does it disprove any point I made?

What are you posting and bolding here? Ha.
.

The article calls out ur lies. No mention was made about injury. It clearly states that his problem has been mistakes which took his confidence. This is coming from his former and current coach, i am pretty sure he knows more than u.

Which one is take his confidence again. At least, you now know the mistake you pointed earlier did not take his confidence.

Please, we analyse here and give our views. Not all points are taken literally from articles. You read, study and make your point. That is analysing. Not lies.

You will hardly find an article that said Aluko attracts players to him with his style of play and frees room for other forward players to shine.

That is analysis from watching. That is reasoning with your head. After Ambrose's injury, I never watched a dominant game like he used to do.

That is not a lie. That is what we do on this thread. We make our points and back it up with past instances.

If you disagree, like I did of your AFCON rushing back theory, give an instance to explain why you disagree. Just as I pointed out Ambrose being good at the World Cup.

I did not call you a liar. I disagreed and showed you why.

I am not trying to trick you. LOL.

On a serious note, I actually thought that match was after the World Cup. My bad. However, still remember Ambrose making some amazing runs at the World Cup. Not after.

That is not a lie. Say you disagree and give me your reasons why. You were talking of AFCON and saying I am lying for saying he faded about two years after.

Haba.

When u don't know something and u act as if u know and even go as far as making up details then u r lying. I am not just some bozo who likes to hear myself talk, this is something i know for a fact. I have given u as much proof and all u say is he got injured but Efe has not had a major injury in his career. I view this thread as a place where people come to get informed and educated, it is not about who wins an arguement. I do not agree with the lenghts at which u go to not be wrong.

Thank God Iwobi played no part of that one.
