Is that what this is all about, high profile? Is that why your country didn't go on a nation-wide mourning period over the Ile-Ife massacre? South Africa values the life of its citizens. We mourned the Marikana killings, mourned the people who died in that church in Nigeria & we still commemorate past events where people lost their lives. Until you learn to value the life of your fellow man, don't expect South Africa to treat you any differently. We didn't adopt you! I don't condone the xenophobic attacks, but don't be surprised when they happen again & you're given something to really mourn & talk shit about next time. Because we see how you carelessly disregard the deaths of your people, in your own backyard.
Yes,the same way you have "mourned" the racially motivated plaasmoorde that keep occuring to farm owners in SA almost every year, with hundreds of thousands killed already?.
Spare me the petty sentiments, and fix your rotten country.

How about you take your own advice & fix yours. While at it, go lay a wreath in Ile-Ife to show how truly affected you are. And spare me the fake concern.

I daresay that we have our issues, but at least,we dont murder fellow human beings in the name of job opportunities, or God save me,something as mundane as "stealing" women!
I dont need cosmetic gestures to show my disapproval and sympathy for the unfortunate incident in Ile-Ife; unlike you,we dont shed alligator tears in front of the TV and then turn around to massacre our neighbours in broad day light.

Yeah, that's because you'd rather murder them for rituals, soup & for belonging to a different tribe. Your OWN people at that! How honourable! How 21st century grin People who live in glass houses don't throw stones. You lot get zero sympathy from me. You're as evil as the people you point your dirty, blood soaked fingers at. Blacks kill whites in your country, many have died in racially instigated farm attacks and homicides. But I dont care about how you people treat each other anyway, what I care about is how you treat my countrymen.
Almost every country in the world is prone to having internal bias and isolated ethnic/tribal/racial crisis now and then, even the most developed nations do.But only South Africa has xenophobia, this signifies a society at the pricipe of oblivion.
For when the foreigners are all devoured, such a society will then turn around and devour itself inside-out till naught but ruin is left.

If we treat all South Africans in Nigeria the way some of your black citizens treat their white counterparts, then all South Africans in Nigeria will be dead already.
The fact that you need any form of justification to treat a fellow human being cordially shows how morally backwards and animalistic you guys are.

mature what??you mean the highly incompetent onyeama, who doesn't know what his job description is.the one who required out cry before he could do his job ,and in fact is only trying to save face because it is clear to him that the Diaspora do not like him but rather Hon Abike,Onyeama is incompetent and even himself knows it our letter has been sent out to the Presidency and we expect him moved for competent people to take up the job

freeborn76:
This is mature diplomacy displayed by Onyeama and his team, not the hyperactive glory seeking reactions of Abike Dabiri. We should learn to follow constituted authority in this country.

Nigeria is a weak country that doesn't value the lives of her citizens, this country needs spiritual and physical cleansing... In saner countries the primary aim of Government is the provision of welfare and protecting the lives of her citizens, but in Nigeria the primary aim of government is very vague because even now, the government has not and will not react in equal propensity to the south African aggression, we play politics with everything in this country. Hopefully someday God will give us reasonable leaders. Ameen

but it's not just Nigerians who have suffered from Xenophobic attacks.. atleast the govt is duin well to hold talks with counterparts... how better do yu think Nigeria shud handle this issue attack South Africa??

Tell me again HOW you saved us from Apartheid. I love Nigerian tales by moonlight grin Listen, YOU didn't liberate South Africans! The anti-Apartheid movement was a worldwide effort, which included South Africans at home & those that went into exile. So unless you experienced the trauma 1st hand, don't expect us to be grateful only to you, for the struggle we also fought. Thank you South Africa & South Africans! You guys are awesome! As for the billions you claim to have given to us, how, IDK...go dig them from the asses of your corrupt leaders that duped you! We never received monetary assistance during Apartheid. How, when the security was so tight you couldn't even fart without them knowing about it. South Africans fought alone, you & the rest just did what you could, from a very safe distance. Don't expect to be revered alone for the effort of many, many who don't even make as much noise about it as you do. In short, to you & your sense of entitlement...

Have you ever stepped out of Nigeria before? Do you have any idea of what your countrymen do outside the country to make ends meet by all means?

Young man I have been outside the shores of this country, most Nigerians out there are hardworking doing legitimate businesses while others are just lazy, the problem is that the lazy ones have tainted even the good ones so all Nigerians are seen as lazybones.. Thank u

Talking to you is a waste of time,i strongly advice .you go and find out where they went into exile,i strongly suggest you equally go and find out where the money and weapons you use in fighting came from,i suggest you go and find out who educated you leaders,i equally suggest you go and find out why till date Nigerians need visas to go to the UK.the problem with Nigeria is that they didn't not demand a public statement from Mandela ,rather the south African issue was treated as covert, but would help you to trace where you should start your research,i would attach the reply of our then Prime minister to your leaders when they came begging for help,i know you where not born then so you do not know your left from your right, you do not know who financed your freedom

Jacob Zuma himself is very corrupt and so no good can really come out of it. He is corrupt and doing his own in destroying the country and the thugs in the streets are also doing their own in the ways they know. That is corruption in Africa for you.

Mnxm. Listen, we have neighbouring countries who carried more load than you did. So stop blowing your own trumpet. In makes reasonable sense to believe our neighbouring countries took in more & did more than far-flung Nigeria, even if Nigeria did shelter a few. Get over yourselves! Beside, you were also experiencing internal struggles of your own at the time to be "spraying" billions at us as if you were having one of your owambe parties grin You just got punked by your thieving leaders into believing that all the money went to aid South Africa, when in fact, it probably went into their own pockets or aided their own political agendas. I repeat, if it didn't prevent me from inhaling tear gas & hearing gunshots, I don't care much about it.

You are damn wrong. Try to visit South Africa and see what's going on there. What South Africa government and South Africans are taking from those drug dealers and women traffickers, Nigeria and nigerians can not take 10% of it. They are trafficking and recruiting their young girls for prostitution, giving them hard drugs while using business to cover up. You are an ignorant on this.
