Theelectlady1:Consider for a moment that it might be difficult for both of you to get a visa if you apply together. It's either you apply first or your husband. |

Theelectlady1:Consider for a moment that it might be difficult for both of you to get a visa if you apply together. It's either you apply first or your husband. F1-F1 is okay if you plan to get a job and probably remain in the United States after your studies. |

DeeTus: Thanks DeeTus. I do appreciate your input. Pls shed more light on either of us applying first then the other second. Our admission states Fall 2017.Are you advising that one of us defer our admission for next year while the other applies now for fall. or do either of us go first to the embassy then if by God's grace we get the visa then the other person can apply afterwards for the same fall session. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by omoluabiguy(m): 5:10pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
Theelectlady1: Since you both have admissions with partial fundings, just apply for visa as separate applicants and get F1-F1. Not like going to the embassy as a couple. You have more chances of getting the visa as separate applicants than as a couple. All the best 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, pls I need your advice. My husband and I plan to go study in Fall 2017 in the US. We both have our admission letter and we also both got partial scholarship. We are attending the same school in New Jersey. so this means that we will both be applying for F1 VISA INDIVIDUALLY and not F1 and F2 visa. What do you advice we do? shd one person apply for F1 while the other apply for F2? or shd we both apply for F1? Do we apply together for F1? or shd we apply individually? What are our chances of getting student visa since we are both going to study. Also I had my son 1yr and 4 moths ago in the us. My husband and I did NOT take medicare or is it medicade it is called. We pay monthly for my son bill since we gave birth to him but for the last 5 -6 months we have not been able to meet up monthly payment as I lost my job and my husband office has not been consistent with salary. What are our chances as we plan to go to the us embassy to apply for f1? I have called the hospital several times to ask for a smaller payment plan as I cant meet the previous naymore but they keep saying that they cant help with a smaller fee. |

Theelectlady1: You will show up as non payers on the system. Why risk wahalla with visa officers or worse CBP at point of entry! Make your plans to study in another country, plenty of good schools worldwide. Also perhaps think of paying your bills before spending money on school! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Chinewon88:open normal Skype account. You don't need anything business. Send him your Skype ID or request for his. You can add him or he would add you then you both can meet at the appointment time online for the call. |

Theelectlady1: My advice : Dont go near the US embassy for now until you clear your debt.Even if you scale through and get your visa,CBP officers are really on top of their job now, hope you know what that mean. 1 Like |

The electlady1, even if you are given visa, dont ever take the risk of flying cos of POE. Pls clear the debt first 1 Like |

Theelectlady1: Although no one can predict how the interview will go or POE but not a good package. Most times they will ask you for proof of payment for the birth so if you cant show full payment then how can you prove you have money to be F1 for both couple. If i were you i would wait till the bill is paid off but that just me. You can take the risk and hope it won't be asked but if it is asked then that a major no no Couple with the timing of Trump now there is extra scrutiny at POE ..... best to clear the bill first 4 Likes |

Theelectlady1:Your husband should go for his visa appointment while you wait in Nigeria. Settle the bills. I don't know if CBP have privy transaction information between you and the hospital or doctor. If you can state the process that resulted in the payment plan then I can comfortable give you advice. I don't think CBP are privy or have payment information upload of your transaction. I highly doubt they do cos I've had a lady who came here to deliver, couldn't pay all the bills, she returned to Nigeria and came back after a year and never had issues at the POE. I can't say for your situation except you can give more details of the transaction. |

Theelectlady1:Exactly. Do not defer the application. Any of you should apply first, once the first gets the visa, then second will have to start warming up as well. There are so many past questions and answers here that you guys really need to study for and watch out for questions like where's your husband? Why don't you travel with him? Blah blah blah. |

Theelectlady1:Try more. Tell them there's economic depression in Nigeria. In this case, your husband needs to apply first. |
