Very true. A friend who is a role model in his working place was asked to recommend another Nigerian for them to employ because of his exemplary conduct, he recommended me and during the interview the HR man was still praising this Nigerian staff. He took me to the Nigerian and introduced us, (the guy nor even know say we know each other) and practically offered me the job. If we behave ourselves we can dominate this city but I doubt if we all can behave ourselves and not be greedy or over smart.

lets keep hoping for better behavior of our peeps.. I also hope you remember to recommend your peeps thats how the filipinos, indians and the rest took charge of those influential positions in the city

In my opinion, Dubai is much more "in your face" than Abu Dhabi is. Dubai shouts at you 24 hours a day, lights blinking and advertising sign boards try to lure you in with their glitzy, shiny facade. Cars are constantly on the roads non-stop even as late as 3am while Abu-Dhabi is more on the quiet side


Rents are expensive in both cities, but much higher in Abu Dhabi than Dubai. Traffic is now much much worse in AD.

Less malls in Abu-Dhabi, if you look for them.

No SkiDubai in Abu-Dhabi

No metro oh so get ready for steady Bus and Taxi like Natty said.

Jobs and Accommodations check Dubizzle.

My choice would be Dubai without a shadow of a doubt. I would say Abu Dhabi to live and work and Dubai to go out and have fun...

Yes sorry you cannot get sim card with only your passport any longer, they stopped it since last year even here in Dubai it has to be strictly with your Emirates ID only, it's either you beg someone with Emirates ID to assist getting one for you or you ask someone coming in from Nigeria to get one for you at the airport because i think you can only get at the airport with your passport when arriving.

What about those of us that bought about 2 years ago with our international passport, would they be deactivated or we can still use it.

You will be prompted to go and update it with your Emirates ID as soon as possible to avoid disconnection. The old line won't work anymore if you don't update it with your Emirates ID.

I was in dubai in 2013, had a Sim card. I came back and bought credit card and load.....No way. Was told the tin don expire.so don't count on your old Sim.
