uso84: I think Eraytee has given you the best advice there is. Apply first, and when you get your trv approved, you'd apply for the rest of your family. Use your family in nigeria as hometie. |
If both you and your husband have the financial capacity for you to go with your son, why not!. You will still have to point it out that him needing attention will not in any way be a distraction to your study and with good financial strength and strategies, you MAY convince a visa officer that adequate attention will be given to him while you indulge in your study. Your husband and your other two children are good hometies for you including your business. Now, aside all the circumstance and profile of you and family, the main reason for going to study must be put into perspective. 1. Is your master admission in any way related to your current activity or degree? (hoping it is accounting/financial related) Once your purpose of visit is in line with your current activities and overall aspiration and interest and your financial capacity can withstand any additional family member you intend to apply with, you sure have a good chance of obtaining your study permit. However, everything must be put forth outrighly, simply and convincingly to indicate that you the principal applicant is the whole idea of applying for a study permit. When you eventually obtain your study permit, you can decide to apply for a spouse open work permit (SOWP) for your husband or he renews his current visa before it expires. Your other kids also will have to renew their visiting visas too. You can find useful info about extension of visiting visas from within canada here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp Regards. [/quote/] @Austineep and other gurus. Please if someone want to apply for SOWP for his wife, does it necessarily mean that she must have gotten a Job in canada first? Thanks |

Thanks Austinpee. i have a law background but as i said i work in a big four for over 8 years and am in a manager. the MBA will help me gain general competency in all functional management role. As i said , my intention is to have my twin girls (1o years) come in after some months before their visitor visa expires and then get it extended in Canada. hubby has business in Nigeria so he wont be applying for spousal permit but will renew his visiting visa and be coming in and out should i include the fact that my son has a medical condition and on medication and support with all doctors report? or i should be silent on that. Although he is independent despite his medication but he just needs to be monitored. My son is 8years. can i include my pension statement in my application? does it count as financial asset? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 8:11pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
wealth360:No, a job offer is NOT a requirement for a spouse open work permit. She will get the work permit to work full time while you study and MAY work part-time. The OPEN means she can apply without a job offer and can work without restriction. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 8:31pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
bosbebe:Well, since all your family members have visiting visas already, there really won't be a need to file any further application for him. He can go with you to canada on the visiting visa he has without even mentioning it in your application. Not like you are trying to get a visitor's visa for him, he has one already. So just apply for your study permit, once it's approved, you travel with your son and possibly extend his visa in canada as a dependent child or when you find a school there for him to enroll. The must also be reasons for further visa extension for your other children. You can enroll them in school when they arrive later and apply for a change in their visa conditions as well as extension. And yes, you can include your pension statement. It serves both as financial asset and home ties. Every other thing seems alright. You should be good to go with your study permit application. All the best to you. |

oluwaCanny:Good decision to declare your US refusal this time around. You should write you were refused a US visa in so so year and also refused a study permit for insufficient funds. By the way, the correct box to tick for the question " Have you previously applied to enter or remain in canada" should be NO. It should be Yes only if you applied for or were denied a permit/visa renewal or extension after one was previously issued. Tick YES to the question of being refused a permit or visa to canada or any other country. |

Good day most respected ladies and gentlemen, elders and newbies. I acknowledge you all. I have been following as a guest and I must commend this particular thread and it's members. You all are superb. I have read through from part 1 (trust me) and have gathered vital information. God bless you all for the inputs and insights I just want a few things clarified for me please: I graduated high school in 2008, worked in a school where I was just paid with an envelop (not through the bank) for about a year and half then stopped. Gained admission in 2010 to study accounting in a polytechnic and got a National Diploma from there in 2012. Worked in an Accounting firm from 2013 to 2015 (still paid with enveloped package) then left by December 2015 precisely. Started arrangements to kick-start my own business and finally got it registered in August 2016 but haven't commenced business. I took up a short job with a school as the School's Accountant from September to December 2016 (I was paid through my account this time) then stopped again. I am currently working with an Artist promotion company in Surulere as the accountant again and being paid through my account too (started on Feb 2017). Now here's the thing. I want to further my studies in Canada and I am going to be 25 by April. 1. Do I go through just my WAEC result and start as an undergraduate or is there any kind of programme in Canada for OND holders? 2. If I am going with my WAEC, how do I address the issue of gap in the years 2008-2017 and will certified letters from the people I've worked for suffice in place of pay slips (since I was paid through enveloped packages for two jobs I took on) I am very sorry for the epistle but I had to be as detailed as possible to avoid asking and asking questions all over again. Let me learn now, proceed with my app, get my trv and come back to contribute immensely to this wonderful thread. Thank you as I get your responses. 1 Like |

bosbebe: Madam, let me offer some piece of advice here. First post! The medical condition of your child may be a reason for visa refusal. There are certain conditions that if found exist on kids, will hinder their parents from getting into Canada(Bear in mind you will do Medicals with everyone accompanying you in your visa application). Eg Autism, Down Syndrome and stuffs like that. So please be properly guided! No hiding place for any medical condition , the examining physician will report all . I wish you luck. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Osemigho: 11:22pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
bosbebe: 1: kindly do upfront medicals and ask for the doctor's opinion on that. I dont think you be silent however. Or you can apply alone very early with upfront medicals and pray for early approval. Then submit his application immediately after yours with upfront medicals too. This way, his health won't be a determining factor for your approval and his own too is likely be approved if you present a good case that he needs adequate monitoring that your husband may not be able to provide due to his job nature. Also, that you have acquire or will acquire a nanny, child-support caregiver, when you get to Canada to support you and himself. This second option will need a very shining account to fly sha. 2: include it. Particularly it is in high amount. 1 Like |
