Tradition... Shiv was the only one in the sitting room. The others were around the house, some were out, some in their rooms, some in the garden or the pool at the back. She sat with her legs folded up. She had her head rested on her knees. Her phone rang. She raised her head and tucked her weave behind her ears. It was a foreign unknown number. She sighed. Choudhary again. She wondered if picking the call was the right decision. So she ignored. It rang thrice before she finally decided to pick. It was her intention to tell Choudhary off. It was completely over between them and nothing was going to bring them back together again. Never. 'Choudhary why wont you just spare me? Spare me please! I told you i'm married to someone else here. I dont love you anymore, please stay away from me please?!' 'Shivani?' The cool familiar feminine voice spoke. 'huh? Who's this?' She asked not to sure. 'its me, Richelle' 'Richelle?' Her heart thumped 'Richelle is it you?' 'live and direct baby! How are you?' She let out a loud scream 'Rich, is this you?!' 'ouch! Keep it down will you? You wanna block my ears?' 'Richelle, are you back in New York? When did you come back from India? You surely aint calling from India are you?' 'i just got back from India three days ago. I went to your house and they said you travelled. I also spoke with Choudhary and i heard you two broke up. I got your number from him and i decided to call you' 'wow. I'm so happy you called. I missed you seriously' 'but what happened bae? Why did you break up with Choudhary? Are you married?' I was silent. 'how could you do this Shivani? You two were a wonderful couple. You both had plans to get married and start up a family together. How could you do this to him? Do you realise he's turned into a drunk and a drug addict overnight because of your betrayal? You disappointed me Shiv. What did he ever do to you? Was he unfaithful? Did he assault you physically or sexually? Tell me, because i dont understand your reason for being this heartless' 'Rich, you dont understand anything' her voice was low and she felt the tears burn at the back of her throat 'you dont understand that happened. I didnt break up with Choudhary because i wanted to. I loved him. And i still do. But we werent meant to be. I'm married to someone else now. Against my wish' 'tell me what exactly happened dear' her voice was filled with pity and concern. Shiv sniffed 'i came back from the states only to have my mother tell me my marriage to a royal crownprince had already been arranged' 'a royal crownprince?' 'yes. Even though my mother claims she did all this for my sake, i still know deep within that she did it for her own selfish reasons. My mother's easily taken by wealth and affluence. I know all this. I know i should have refused. But you know me Rich, i cant bear hurting my mum. I love her so much. She's been through alot for our sake, my sister and i. You know i'm not easily carried away with material things. I love Choudhary and the love i have for him could never surpass that of material things. But as it is now Rich, i'm stuck. I'm not even happy. I have no interest in royalty whatsoever but what can i do? It pains me so much. The fact that i care about Choudhary but yet i cant show it bothers me so much. You cant even begin to imagine how horrible i feel. Its like i've committed the greatest sin of my life. I feel so horrible Rich. I just want to end everything. I feel like turning back the hands of time, but i cant, i just cant' A stray tear touched her tongue and she felt its saltiness. 'i'm so sorry dear. I understand everything you're saying. I'm so sorry' *** Dike dragged his legs tiredly and lazily. He was tired and hungry. What he needed was good food and a sound sleep too. He noticed the house was too quiet. Maybe there were swimming or at the garden, he thought. As he was about opening the door however, he heard someone sniff. He paused. Out of curiousity, he leaned closer. It was Shivani. And he heard everything she said. TBC 16 Likes 1 Share |

Shivani shuldnt av sacrificed her happiness for dat of her mother. She is sad while her mother is happy and also turning d once innocent fiancee to a drug addict. Jst pray dey could come back together even though d probability is slim. |
