saninwa: This is questionable. Probably you're mistaking high school record (transcript) for high school equivalent (waec) but was successful with your admission. Adcomm asks for evaluation from professionals from undergrad-transfer and graduate to simplify the job and get accurate cgpa. The evaluator has to deal with large amount of data (course by course) and take the burden from adcomm. High school applicants (freshman) don't have any substantial cgpa. SAT score and high school equivalent (waec) is enough to get the admission and to obtain scholarship, except where record (transcript) is required. If I was asked the same question, I would evaluate from JSS 1 to SSS 3 and submit my waec result as is. |

imperiouxx:I understand you sir, but International credential Evaluators like WES evaluate only WASSCE from Nigeria and other waec countries. They just regard wassce as our high school transcript, because it's standardized and can easily be verified by the waec. They don't accept internal results(high school transcripts) because such can greatly be manipulated by the school, trust Nigeria na the worst is that most rural public schools in our villages don't even know what is transcript or how to prepare such document. At least I have experienced one before while trying to get transcripts for a friend. I had to explain to the principal what transcript are, since they can't get the guy's results from ss1, they just manufactured scores for him they hardly keep records which is so bad. That's the reason Evaluators like WES regard wassce as our transcript and can't accept any other thing. |

In My case my mom just petitioned for me few months ago and it won't be current till 2024 or 2025 and I've just started my masters application. 2 : will applying to schools in the same state my mom lives be a problem for me at the interview ? |

saninwa:Some schools request for high school transcripts with WAEC Result. Not only Nigeria that does it, the Asians do so too. Infact, the Asians see it as pride whenever their students apply for admission. That is why they get most of these scholarships. 1 Like |

Guys please help!!!! Good day house. I'm new on this platform and I must confess, it's been educating. A quick one please. I applied for Msc to study Public Affairs in NMHU in New Mexico and I got the admission. My i20 was sent in January 10th 2017 and registration was scheduled to end on the 24th of same month so I deferred till fall in August 2017. The question now is, I had initially been denied a b1b2 visa and my dad is currently a citizen of the US. He resides in Philly, which is why I didn't apply to any school there. Please hope this won't affect my procuring of the visa coz I'm at cross roads and really need advice. Thanks in anticipation for the responses. |

saninwa: I got your explanation now. Thanks. Before, schools using ask for ss course work with waec. Like you said I guess they are using this to prevent boosted course work from those notorious private sec schools. |

Emmanuelson: Few months ago..lol..Don't worry, you case is not even close to a table. But since your mum is a permanent resident (guessing based on what you wrote), you would have to show really good home ties. You have a good job? Good grades? Applying to schools in the same state alone is a flag as well |
