Why won't I depend on the weather service when I know they won't be 100%? If they say rain I carry my umbrella whether it rains or not. Same way polls should be taken, with a caveat in mind. If we were only concerned about the success rate of weather forecasts (under 70% for same day forecasts and under 40% for week long forecasts) the weather service would be out of business. Yet everyday people still look up the weather forecasts.
