I thought you said you are a coach or....

Anyway, Rohr said he considered replacing Onazi with either Ogu or Etebor.

Why did he decide to play Ogu instead of Etebor? grin

Bc Etebo reported late to camp and may still be suffering from jet lag.

Etebo was even supposed to start if he had arrived camp early enough like others.

How many of Onazi matches in Lazio did you see? grin

countless. I used to watch their games because of Hernanez who later moved to Inter. I continued watching their matches even after he left because of Klose but then I lost interest later on

Mikel is not shoulder to shoulder with Alli... He is heads and Shoulders above Alli..... grin #fact

So Mikel shouldn't even come up at all.... Alli dreams to have Mikel's kinda career.... wink

That is it.

Lets not worry abt a future goalie. Let us focus and solve the problem at hand. A goalie will eventually emerge when the time comes.

I give Rohr kudos for keeping faith with Akpeyi who in my opinion has not been exceptional but has done well as a reserve goalie.

For all those calling for Alampasu, Nwokolo and Daniel can Rohr put any of them in goal against Cameroun? No!

Akpeyi haven kept goal against Egypt in Alexandria, Algeria in Uyo and Senegal in London has proven he is no shove over.

Let us use all we have at our disposal to qualify for the WC and AFCON first then start thinking abt building for the future.

The NFF even told Rohr that there'll be no contract renewal if he fails to qualify for 2018 WC and u expect him to be planning for 2022 WC?

Akpeyi looked shaky to me when I watched him play. Reports said he was jittery against Senegal. If Emma Daniel was a better choice in the Olympics, there is no way Akpeyi can be the better reserve Goalkeeper.

I am definitely not confident with him in goal. Looked amateurish in the goal conceded and showed same sign in his other game for the Super Eagles. He can pass though.

so you like watching an average performance? You are also forgetting that he played in the Seria A primarily as a DMF, De Jong is a typical seria A DMF, do I need to explain to you De Jong's style of play? Onazi's link-up play was bad, very bad, I don't know why you don't want to understand

How many clear cut chances did the team created and squandered when Onazi played? grin

it wasn't up to two, and the chances came through Ndidi. One was a cross field pass that set Musa on his way(probably a Leicester routine). But then I do not understand your point

Essien played a lot as a box-to-box midfielder but he was not the type of player you will say controls the midfield. Yaya Toure played as a box-to-box midfielder but I criticised his ability to control the midfield. Although he is reformed under Guardiola.

Go back to what I said, I said he was PRIMARILY deployed as a DMF, that means his main position was as a DMF. He played as a box to box CMF once in a while and even in those games he was the destroyer kinda CMF, and in many of those games he came in as a sub to sure up the game, you can't even describe that as a CMF. AMF?! No way!!! It was from you that I learnt that he played as an AMF during HIS DAYS IN THEIR ACADEMY OR SO.

@bolded.... looooollllll

Anyway shaa.... Rohr knows what he is doing I believe.... Ofcos he knows he needs to blood in a young goalie but that isn't his immediate priority right now.... right now it is the Russia 2018 ticket and the Cameroun 2019 ticket....

He has his eyes on Qatar 2022 but what is really before him is Russia 2018 and he is very much focused on that...... His team is young and vibrant.... he is inviting young players that he knows will have immediate impact and not take too much time to blend in.... example is Success Isaac...

I think we should just allow this man to work.... he hasn't put a foot wrong so far....

I thought they said that the Costa Rican's scored in the 82nd minute? If that's so, then by that 92nd minute every single outfield player will be pushing forward to get the winning goal
It was a typo. The snap was taken on the 82' just seconds before Costa Rica were awarded a penalty.

You first claimed Yobo played as a striker. Now you are trying to find a way to claim that he played in midfield. The truth is that you did not know Yobo was a defender then.

Now you know.
At Standard Liege he was a defender. I believe you watched a lot of Standard liege games to have seen him.
For the Flying Eagles, which I witnessed some of their games live at the stadium. At no point did Yobo play in defence.
Just like a Warri wolves fan would have been surprised seeing Etebor play as a DM against Algeria. Players play different roles for club and country in some cases.

Mikel! grin..

Mikel Obi concealed his talent at Chelsea and restricted himself to the DMF role with his trade mark sideways pass and short pass.

Nevertheless, we Nigerians know he is good but as a DMF he can never be rated above an attacking midfielder in this era.

Is he rated highly than Griezmaan or anything attacking midfielders?..

The world rates AMF and attackers than DMF nowadays.

Therefore, in the world scale, Ali will be.... grin grin

He simply asked, who in the super eagles can stand shoulder to shoulder with Alli.....

Me I just park because I could see one already above Alli.... grin

Iwobi can be arguably said to be on Alli's level..... I won't call Nacho because of his bench situation at City and heck... I am tempted to call Ndidi sef.... but only because he is still new in England.... grin

As I said before, a picture of a game can not give an accurate description of what is going on on the pitch. The link I showed you is the 1997/1998 Standard Liège team list. Yobo was a Standard Liège defender. We would not call a Standard Liège defender to play attack.

That is like taking a screenshot of a midfield and if you do not see Mikel there, you will say he did not play as a midfielder.

I repeat, we would not bring a Standard Liège defender to play attack for us.
We cannot call a standard liege player to play in the attack but we can call Etebor to play as a DM? We can call Chelsea's Dm to play AMf, we can call Chelsea's wing back to play as an out and out winger. Football is dynamic.
Funny enough you stated earlier that Yobo started as a striker at the start of his career.
What makes you think the local coaches still didn't see him as a player who could offer something in an uncoordinated attack we presented in that tourney?

Why didn't the screen shot I posted support your claim Disu stocked up our defence with an extra defender to protect the lead?
Why didn't the picture show we had 5 players at the back?
Is Yobo transparent that he could not be seen in the defence but he was in the defence? Is he a ghost?

Yea i was thinking along those lines, remember when Iheanacho got selected to train against Argentina? We have guys who represent some London clubs, maybe if they could ask their clubs to lend an hand. Btw, Victor Moses owes Rohr one, he should be the one asking Conte for some fringe players and I might be moving to fast but if we get say Chelsea reserves we could get to see Ola in action against African competition.
