I will advice that you shouldn't waste so much money on appeal. I have also heard that it takes a lot of time too. Just repackage your application and work on the reason why you were delayed . My opinion!

@Ell707....you may equally ask your spouse in Canada to apply for GCMS note on your behalf... So you will have full info about the reason for denial and be able to direct your new application appropriately.
What proof of funds did you provide in your last application?
Pls DO NOT forget to declare this or any other Visa refusal in your new application.... Very critical!

I have bad and good news.
The Bad- No response
It seems these officers are concentrating on something else. I sent them an email referencing another medical my wife did in January for express entry. I sent Ghana cic an email says it was full and can't accept any more messages . Sent emails to cic lagos & by specific case but still no response .

The Good - Another door opens
Fortunately for my wife and I, we were approved PR visa last Friday - I couldn't be any happier. She wouldn't be needing SOWP anymore and they can reply whenever they want .

I just hope they process WP applications faster in weeks to come, life is hard already for young couples.

Well, I don't know of any one that got PPR within one month. Medicals takes atleast 1month, background could be about a month or more afterwards and finally passport request.
But I think there is more emphasis in landing more immigrants this year and years to come. Thus, the rapid rate of application processing.

The same way you have linked the good and bad news is the way CIC have linked your applications. Don't always think the western world are like most African countries; they have and keep records.... That's their strength!!
I am not sure you should be expecting response from any other applications.

All you need to apply is her study permit, marriage certificate and a proof that she is a student in Canada. Proof of fund is just an advantage, it's not a main concern, let your company say in a reference letter that they will take you back whenever you return, a job offer in Nigeria is kind of a tie.

You can always apply to change the conditions of your stay in Canada and if you want to apply for a study permit then you will need proof of fund.

They always consider worst case scenerio, assuming u don't get a job. I am currently studying here in canada and I'm also working on sowp for my wife. I know a lot of my class mates that had sowp of deir wives denied. I had to speak to the immigration consultant for international at my school. Her advise was and i quote 'god forbid u amd ur spouse get into a fight and u separate' so dats 1 of d reason each spouse must have deir oen funding . additionally she said u need to show a proof dat u can live together, so ur wife may have to include her lease agreement which will show both of u can stay together, cos 90% of students live in 1 room and a shared space.

WHO CAN EDUCATE ME ON SPOUSE OPEN WORK

It's not necessary your spouse gets a bachelor's apartment. Including a lease agreement document in your application could help. Also, your wife don't have to change her name before you apply. Your marriage certificate and pictures will proof your union. The document contains both spouse name and other info. However if she decides to change before you apply, then include document to support that. My wife used her maiden name for her application.
She should send cic an email and CRA too
