If you have never had a bike accident, you would not understand what a power bike accident can cause you. I used to love the Harley Davidson, ducati and Kawasaki while growing up and seriously wanted to own one until the day I had a bike accident that almost took my life at night. A commercial bus knocked me and the rider off the road and we landed straight into a deep gutter. How we managed not to come out with broken skulls is still a mystery to me. While in the gutter, I heard people asking if we were dead and all that but we came out without bodily injury. However, I had internal injury and had a chest pain that lasted for about 7/8 months. After then, I still had another bike accident. It was then that I started hating bikes and wondering what a power bike accident would be like. Just a little pebble on the road, can send that thing tumbling on high speed and you can imagine what it would look like for a badly kitted rider. Everytime I see people riding it, I silently pray for them.

I like our way of calling it powerbike it rolls offf the toungue better than superbike.

Its definitely risky especially in Nigeria where the road is an aggressive race track. A rider must be very very alert and also disciplined to control the euphoria of the speed.

I interviewed a rider in this video on this issue and we agreed that as a rider you can get closer to God because the daily prayer for protection is important. As a biker you are more vulnerable. That being said its something everyone should try. Its the best feeling ever and i dont mean okada.. okada is like choco milo and a real sports bike is like ferrer rocher or malteasers, etc grin

This is why i don't really like the very big bikes and especially for the city i would stick with 250cc -400cc because sometimes you have to suddenly stop and the bigger it is the longer it takes to stop. Also for squeezing through go slow (another lovely Naija term) a bi g bike will frustrate the rider in the city.

No doubt bikes have killed many in horrendous ways gear or no gear. We must simply be mature as riders and sadly many riders are immature.

Please can anyone in the house link me with a good mechanic for my 250 bandit? And please check out my channel Naija Biker Tv below.

Everything in life is risky. It is when you throw aside your God given brain with all its safety checks that you end up killing yourself.

Once you have perfected your riding skills, nothing can discourage you from overspeeding is your bike is almost new. You will like to let other bikes plying the roads know that your bike no be seresere.

I have had more than 5 accidents: went down in 2, others damaged my bike without me down. I still speed till today.

The errors weren't mine, but from other eediots like vehicles and bikes. One oloriburuku bike rider carrying firewood tried overtaking another firewood carrier and hit it. While trying to balance, it hit me.

Yeah, they were riding from Lagos to Port Harcourt in group. He was hurrying to meet up on time, those behind met his lifeless body on the roadside. Don't want to remember this story

That's not generally true.

Bigger bikes have better brakes, 3 discs, multi-piston calipers and like my bike some have ABS. With the linked ABS brakes on my bike I can consistently out stop any moped on the street under any weather condition.

How come those SBK and Moto GP folks who fall off the their speeding bikes on the race track don't die?

We'd all die one day, don't let the fear of death to stop you from living life to the fullest!!

People have died while sitting in their parlours, some other have died peacefully in their sleep!

In fact bike accidents ain't the number one cause of deaths in the world so what's the fuss?

If I'm able to get any power bike, I'm so much gonna appreciate it... Whether I die from accident or hypertension, na the same 6ft all of us dey go!

Well said.

At the time of this accident, the S class was one of the safest automobiles in the world.

Still Princess Diana died in one.

PS: Speaking of Princess Diana, many people die each year from riding horses.

Those are professionals at the top of their game.

They didn't get there yesterday and have had numerous crashes over the years. Many do die, many have all sorts of steel in their body from surgery from previous falls.

Also riding on the streets is far different from a controlled race track. On a race track you can leisurely slide to your heart's content and if you hit something it's most likely something soft like car tires as opposed to the slab side of a Danfo bus on the street.

It's not even a race bike but a street cruiser, well maybe a tourer.

My coworker here uses his as a daily driver.

I bet you more NYSC folks have died on the roads than bikers.

How about street hawkers on Nigerian roads?
