However, it would have been nice if you had articulated what exactly the nurses and doctors did to 'Kill' your wife. However, going by your story, your wife had pregnancy induced hypertension(possibly pre eclampsia) and was probably admitted to be delivered by the fastest and safest means. She had a successful cesarean delivery following a failed induction of labour. It however appears that a post operative event which you failed to highlight led to her demise. While not blaming you, it appears that there were times your attention was needed to possibly make provisions for blood but you had 'survey plans, sites,etc' to attend to and we all know that time is of the essence in matters like this. May God grant you the fortitude to pull through this and may her soul find refuge in the shadow of God's wings.

They have started shifting the blame as usual, your post failed to comment on the fact that no doctor spoke to him either via phone or physically in the hospital when he desired to see one.

Remember these nurse sometimes do not act on their own , they wait for instruction from Consultants/residence

He left her at the hospital by 9pm, only to send his mother inlaw the following morning while he went to his site. He later come to the hospital by noon and left to come back later. This is pure carelessness. I am no happy with him here.

You are obviously just a child. This is Nigeria, he could lose his job for not being at the site that morning, and who would attend to his wife without money. He took her to a hospital and he was there for as much as he could, he's not the issue here.

I used to be go to a good public hospital because at least you will have a spread of doctors. I still am, private hospitals are places you go to only when the public are on strike in my opinion

Some Nigerian doctors have since joined the get rich or die trying club and no offense because they are also a part of our Nigerian society.

I'm not in the blaming mood this evening. His wife was indduced by a DOCTOR after being admitted by a DOCTOR. She was reviewed by a DOCTOR and a second dose of the induction agent inserted by a DOCTOR. After the failed induction, she was reviewed and booked for Surgery by a DOCTOR. An anesthetist(DOCTOR) reviewed her before surgery and she operated on by a DOCTOR. If he was really around, and not attending to survey plans and site work, he woud have seen the doctors. Doctors are not customer care agents that must be on the phone 24/7. The mother inlaw was not even allowed by the deceased to stay with. her in the hospita.

That hospital is useless of course a picture of the uselesd country. I was admitted in that hospital were I witnessed the death of an elderly man due to the negligience of the nurses to constantly monitor the man's blood pressure even after repeated calls from the wife who is now a widow. To add salt to injury the doctor ordered security to forcefully take out the son of the man from the hospital who demanded to know why his dad had died.

Arrangements for blood are not made via phone calls especially in a public institution. Payments must be made, samples taken for grouping and crossmatching, a donor gotten and bled and all that. Shouldn't the husband be available and not calling the lab from his building site?
