Distance, bigger gap in talent and NNL games mean less.

please explain ur comment to me cuz I don't understand, bigger gap in talents ke, distance ad how and how does NNL.games mean less. ko ye mi.

let me try and dissect ur comment based on how I see it.

Distance: only u can explain this

Bigger gap in talents: there is nothing like that to me because many talented players come from the NNL straight to the NPFL and do well, even those who don't are making good names for themselves for example, Stephen Odey played in the NNL for mfm as well as Olatunbosun, many former Ikorodu united players are scattered in teams in the NPFL I know one is in mfm and another in kano pillars etc, Ernest Governor of Abs who is also the captain of the team was formerly of kogi united, Victor Mbaoma of Remo stars was their highest scorer in the NNL last season in fact gan Wilfred Ndidi moved from Bath boys straight to Europe, nath are not even in the Nationwide league one so where is the gap, apart from all those players, do u know that former NPFL highest goalscorer Jude Aneke is with ikorodu united in the NNL currently, he has 2 goals and also scored their equaliser yesterday after scoring in their 2-1 loss to gateway united last Wednesday, Chigozie Obasi of the 2013 u17 team is with Osun united, Kogi united has got this their midfielder who is stunning with free kicks he score one in their last game, players like that are plenty and abound in the NNL but lack of insightful info from this teams and the NNL board hides them.

NNL games mean less: let me assume u mean that the stake in each NNL game isn't that much or its not important. if that's what u mean my beloved brother u are wrong, you know y u avnt met any of the team owners u would know how high the stakes are even when u meet the players themselves. The competition is higher this season that's y u are seeing many away wins, u should av seen the chairman of the Go round team, how he was shifting and moving with every move of the balls by his players.

so if I v misinterpreted ur comment or I am wrong please explan and expatiate

Sir DanyCusoe. I salute you!]
We have been looking for Chidozie Obasi.
As a matter of fact you are on point. Like I said in one of my posts, the NPFL is full of redundant players, besides the clubs that are tapping into youth and the NNL. I believe the NNL is where the magic really is.

Can't quite recall you promoting Ndidi on this thread, when exactly was that?

I actually did, trust me. Both here and on twitter. And in addition, I launched another blistering attack on the technical crew after he was played out of position against Zambia. I have been one of his biggest fans because I saw his potential, along with Etebo and Azubuike. Those three players are the future of the Super Eagles midfield. Mikel is done....he has chosen the Chinese money over football. And as much as I like Onazi and Ogu, they are destined to play second fiddle to the afore mentioned trio.

Certainly you are not talking about me because on one of the threads, I was one of the most vocal voices against the employment of Sunday Oliseh. By the way, I hope you watched the way Sterling brilliantly created two goals.

Take it from someone who knows. Raheem Sterling would always flatter to deceive, you need to look beyond the flatter to find out that there's nothing more in there. I cried blue murder when ManCity splashed $60m on his transfer fee, but it took Manuel Pellegrini more than half of the EPL season to realized what I had already known about Sterling. And I was shocked to see Pep making the same mistake by trying to build his team around Sterling, while neglecting potential stars like Nolito and Kelechi.

In fact, that's when I concluded that Pep is grossly overrated as a coach. I mean, to be fair, I have never rated him that highly even when he was at Barca. I felt that the Barca system along with Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi can make an average coach seem like a world beater!

Thanks sir Icon4s and Sir Tbaba123456789...... lol
I used to and still a supporter of Arsenal fc of London (because Arsenal fcs them plenty for Russia, Argentina etc) but I lost interest in the epl and other leagues sum few years ago,it's been a while I payed or even go to a viewing centre to watch Arsenal play. Since JSS class I always don't wanna miss any Nigerian game be it male and female team even beach soccer, I do beg viewing centre owners to show Nigerian matches but many do turn me down even the 2014 Fa cup final between Enyimba and Lobi stars I begged but they didn't show it.
also in 2014 just before my first semester ND 2 exams I watched the u20 women's world cup final match between Germany and Nigeria the midnight which I had exams the following morning it was a loss for Asisat Oshoala and her mates n Nigerians as well but I was consoled by their performance into the exam hall thankfully I had no carryover.

so to me as a Nigerian nothing beats our own thing if its not naija league den it's not making sense. I try and encourage friends to go to stadium to see our local league teams play but many don't heed, well they can keep their Epl I will follow my NPFL and NNL.

Right from primary school I wished I could become a footballer but not an outfield player but as a goalkeeper cuz I am exceptional at that but u know our parents na, if u no be doctor u better be an engineer my dad n mum saw me as an unserious boy they didn't really give me the go ahead they always say: ko mor ju boolu lor, I.e na only ball I know so meeting Rufai is like meeting a mentor n role model.

Thanks for the Advice sir Icon4s I appreciate and also for the compliment sir tbaba1234 I have a dream and plan for the NNL and NPFL even for the National teams as a broadcaster but it's close to my chest.

Only we can build our house ourselves not the oyinbos, when our own league had good followers hip and fan Base in the 80s and 90s the epl was having crowd and hooliganism problems, they didn't wait for Nigeria to help them rebuild their league rather they did it themselves, the same applies to we as lovers of the NPFL and The NNL only we can rebuild our league by going to the stadia and also shunning violence

A nice write up.

In fact I am encouraged that there is hope for Nigerian local league football.

I follow the NPFL but i am sure not as much as you do.

I only watch the games shown by Super Sports. And not even live, repeat broadcast. I also select the ones i watch eg games involving Enyimba(my club), Kano Pillars(our perenial title rivals), Rangers(Parade some of our bright youngsters) and MFM(Also parade some ex-junior internationals and upcoming teens).

I am making one plea also on behalf of other forumites here. We'll appreciate if u can be coming up with weekend matches preview and reviews. And even write ups on some of the NPFL stars. A lot of us here know little or nothing about what is happening in our local league.

Well done , you are a great guy.

My comment was not meant as a diss to the NNL let me say that first.
With distance I was actually giving credit to the NNL for being innovative. By dividing the league they have made transportation a bit easier, right now Maiduguri is dead on arrival. By the time lets say Enyimba gets there from Calabar their players will be drained and can never perform to their abilities.
Talent should be easy. Yea the NNL have good players but lets be serious a second tier can never have a better talent divide than the first. For example Akwa Starlets can never have a better team than Akwa United, their level will always depend on the level of United.

NNL means much less until promotion comes into play and even then i don't think it is even close. NPFL clubs are the teams of their state, there is alot of pride at stake. U can lose at home in the NNL and everyone goes home but the NPFL is like life or death.

Firstly, I said KC has done exceptionally well. City is a world class top club with a huge brand and money to spend. That comes with huge expectations and pressure on both players and managers.

I do not recall one player that has come out of City's academy in the last 7/8 years that has had the meteoric rise KC has had. That's an achievement. Please let TheGoodJoe correct me or inform of us these stats. I almost certain that KC has broken a number of records at City in modern times.

Your claim smacks of premeditated sentimental prejudice.

I have never said that KC is not good, I have said repeatedly he is exceptional. But he is not World Class yet or one of the top strikers in the world. If indeed you wish to call him a striker or No.9

I said that staying at City is still a viable option. I alluded to the performance of Delph waiting for his chance now it seems he has fought his way into the team.

KC can still do the same.
Or he can move to another team if City will let him go.

Isaac Success in my opinion considering his price tag and supposed hype. Is still currently a waste man. I haven't changed my opinion. He has been in the EPL and he has done nothing and doesn't look like he will do anything.

The claim you make, the see the bold is a very strong indeed. But please I am open to criticism and will not be offended in fact I might be encouraged to see your point of view.

Be specific, objective and not evasive show who I defended with bias and how I am the most biased in this thread.
I dunno if d guys currently breaking into pep's squad will still be der Wen d injured gundogan ND Gabriel return.

Improved massively ke? Well, that depends on what you're watching.

Are you aware that Sterling is the cause the of ManCity's poor defensive form this season? The dude only plays at one end (side) of the pitch.
His defensive contribution is near zero thereby putting pressure on Yaya Toure and Ferdinandiho/Fernando.

And moreover, his game is very predictable.

Do you understand what biased means? I gave an explanation but you have omitted to accept, understand and or appreciate.

This forum is about individual opinions and indeed some opinions are informed opinion, as well as some generally held opinions.

I have in earlier posts given my rational for rating Onyedinma higher than Ademola. Apart from the fact I have watched both players.

So I don't know what bias has to do with anything in this regard.

It's definitely time for Arsene Wenger to retire. The man has lost his touch. On hand he's begging for Arsenal to move mountains to ensure that they offer an average player like Oxlade Chamberline a new contract; yet he's demoting a potential super start like Alex Iwobi to the B team. How does that makes sense

That's why Arsenal will not win another league title with Arsene Wenger in charge. Mark my words! The man has lost his touch.

Much respect to Dodo Mayana! It's funny how living legends like Peter Rufia and Emmanuel Okala don't make noise about the Super Eagles goalkeeping situation but, on the other hand, a useless goalkeeper like Emmanuel Babayaro tend to always run his mouth!

LMC is holding a NPFL under 15 tournament...Really cool way to get it right..
sincerely if half of us on here r members of d lmc, our local league would be overwhelming. each club is supposed2 have age grade teams, but i sense they knw the damaging effect. this idea should gain a foothold cos it would help a club wit any promising youngster on their hands. are old men truly wise and fast, better thinkers atall?
