Guys, chill about Iwobi's issue. The same thought crossed my mind few days ago. Was Wenger actually the coach that worked with Iwobi before his explosion? I wondered maybe it was one of the junior coaches.

Gatting was Iwobi's coach in the U21 and he was the one who worked closely with Iwobi. I think it is okay for Iwobi to work with him and let us see if he can revive our young star's instinct.

Making a biased statement and or proposition simply means you have have no rational and or objective substantiation that underpins it. In other words there is no substance to explain and or justify the statement, proposition, view, etc.

I like this forum for its in-depth analysis and criticism sometimes constructive criticism.

So we can agree to disagree but you would expect a discourse based on facts, reasoning, historical trends, etc. That's what makes this forum unique and interesting. Even if we remain anonymous there is still depth to the discussions. As a result I have become informed, educated and even conversant with football in Nigeria.

But back to you Sir, make sure your assertions are factual.

I have said I rate Onyedinma higher than Ademola and others, I have never said Onyedinma is World class that would be ludicrous. I have said KC is an exceptional player but World class not yet.

I actually don't rate Ojo that highly if at all and I don't recall a comparison made with Success. But if I was too I would probably rate Ojo slightly higher as a bona-fide winger than Success.

When I do make an assertion I would mostly be quite clear as to my reasoning that's not bias that's objectivity. It helps the forum and raises the quality of discussion if you proferr your reasons.

But to present such a high handed allegation of bias without any rationality or substance beyond, When you say does not put you in the best light.

If you think Isaac Success is a great rationalise your
view be objective, be factual, that helps everyone to understand and appreciate your view even agree with it. But to do otherwise is sentimentality or might I even suggest prejudice.

Success was Granada's player of the year 2015/2016 ojo has just made cameo s for Liverpool . Success went to 013 as Nigeria's key man but injuries held him back it's still his problem till date, some of the clubs justling for his signature last year were athletico madrid, Napoli amongst others. but he settled for Watford based on connections with granada, Success was amongst top 10 young la Liga players to watch last year ojo might not make top 5 young players in Liverpool.

Well, he is not part of the team's setup tonight for what so ever reasons.

I feel wenger took him to the U23s to still keep him active so to avoid match rustiness. I believe he will be back for Arsenal's next game.

It's definitely time for Arsene Wenger to retire. The man has lost his touch. On hand he's begging for Arsenal to move mountains to ensure that they offer an average player like Oxlade Chamberline a new contract; yet he's demoting a potential super start like Alex Iwobi to the B team. How does that makes sense

That's why Arsenal will not win another league title with Arsene Wenger in charge. Mark my words! The man has lost his touch.

O pari

I find this interesting.

I have two views of football the pragmatic results orientated hard work and endeavour approach. Which is essentially the English approach.

And my preferred technical biased and flare approach. Which is the more Continental and indeed African approach. The marriage of athleticism and techniquefor me is the way modern football is progressing.

I have said this before my preference becomes irrelevant in matching players to clubs in England.

Quite some time ago we had a discussion on the player with the higher rating in England. I explained that it was Ox and that Iwobi was some places behind him. And of course that word was brought in to qualify my assertions and dismiss them. That word was BIASED it was stated in the context that I support all things English and dislike all things Nigerian.

That action of demotion is limited vindication, however, the issue may be about attitude. Iwobi has not achieved anything yet and I hear rumours of lack of focus and indiscipline which are not corroborated they are just rumours. However, it may explain the current situation, Iwobi is a definite first team player. Maybe it is designed to get him back on track.

Considering the Ox I personally think his delivery outcome particularly where are goals are concerned is very poor. However, that's not the complete story he drives Arsenal forward and bring real quality and competitive edge to the team. Statiscallly poor but as a team player he injects much energy into the side. If only he could remain injury free.

Nonetheless, Iwobi can still move forward if he can learn his lessons and not believe his own hype. Get focused, be more disciplined and push his career forward.

Petre Czech and David Ospina are out injured.

Wenger had to promote the U23 first choice goalie, Matthew Marcey, to deputise for tonight's first choice, Martinez.

Iwobi was the player sacrificed for Marcey to be in match day squad.

Iwobi to still be match fit had to play with the U23.

So nothing to worry about. Iwobi has not been demoted to team B or U23s.

Rohr: Friendly with Germany in the Works

The Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr says a host of friendly games have been lined up for the team later in the year, to help them in competitive games.

Nigeria will be heavily involved in AFCON 2019 and World Cup 2018 qualifiers later in the year, starting from the AFCON qualifiers against South Africa on the 10th of June.

Already test games to put the team in shape for more daunting and challenging games have been arranged, with coach Rohr eager to test a host of players before using them in competitive games.

Rohr confirmed talks are underway to play two friendly games in France, where the team are expected to hold a training camp later in the year, revealed talks are underway for a high profile friendly game with the German national team.

”We have made contact with top executives in the German FA about a friendly, so we could play them”, Rohr said in an interview on Brila FM.

Suderland's Anichebe delighted to be back after lengthy injury

Nigerian star, Victor Anichebe, has expressed delight with his return following a knee injury that kept him out since January.

The 28-year-old was thrown straight into action against Manchester by manager David Moyes but despite his best efforts, the Red Devils ran out with a 3-0 victory.

Speaking with the club’s official website after the game, he said: “It’s nice to get back out here. You know, I’ve been out for a long time and trained just six times so the touches are not great yet and confidence is not high but it’s good to be back out there but it’s not about me it’s about the club and improving our team.

“I had a good chance to score but it wasn’t to be and like I said, we will carry on.”

On the game, he said: “It was a difficult game and obvious the sending-off did not help us.

“I feel the first 20 minutes we didn’t get up to them and we were poor – We gave them too much respect. You know the position we are in, the anxiety and fear was in our performance. I think they were just the better side and we didn’t do what we were supposed to do.”

Ndidi rested for UCL tie against Atletico

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, was rested by Leicester City in their 4-2 defeat against Everton so that he can be fresh for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg clash against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

The 20-year-old has become a huge success story for the Foxes since he joined from Genk during the January transfer window.

However, with the game against Atletico Madrid coming up on Wednesday, manager Craig Shakespeare decided to give the Nigerian a deserved rest after playing every single minute in the premier league for Leicester since he joined.

Shakespeare tried to play the absence of the Nigerian down in his post match interview.

He explained: “I think the team selection was with the games coming up in mind. We’ve got a lot coming up – Wednesday, Saturday and Tuesday – but we’ve got a good squad.

“Players have had to be patient and the idea was that whichever team we field who try to be competitive and try to win the game. We didn’t come to try to get a point, the team was picked to try to get three points. The selection was about squad rotation more than anything else.

“Footballers are resilient. I’ve just said to them in there that we have been on a good run, but we need to start again now and go on another run.”

Rohr Suffers Another Setback As Chelsea Prospect Tammy Abraham Snubs Nigeria For England

Highly rated Chelsea teen forward Tammy Abraham has asked to be left out of Nigeria’s squad for their upcoming AFCON 2019 qualifiers against South Africa, as he wants to focus on playing for England.

Abraham who is on loan to Bristol City went into the record books when he scored his 19th league goal of the season in the English Championship to become the first teenager ever to score 16 or more goals in a Championship season.

Overall he has 22 goals this season, a tally which could have been more if not for the injury he sustained that saw him missed some games.

Nigeria approached the father of the England youth international, who incidentally is a close childhood friend of the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick, but their request to see him switch allegiance to Nigeria immediately was turned down.

” Tammy won’t be in the Nigerian team for upcoming qualifiers, maybe in the future but not so fast. He has confirmed his participation for England at the U-20 World Cup in Korea, which is around same time when Nigeria will be taking on South Africa”, Owngoalnigeria.com United Kingdom (UK) correspondent Michael James reports.

” He is keen on progressing through the ranks of the English national team set up. He has been told he is the future with age not on the side of Wayne Rooney, Jamie Vardy and Jermaine Defoe who are all ahead of him in the England pecking order”.

The 19 year old becomes the second Anglo-Nigerian player who has opt to represent England instead of Nigeria within the space of one week, as Everton Ademola Lookman also did same last week.

Elderson Echiejile Nets Consolation Goal For Sporting Gijon In Loss To Real Sociedad

Sporting Gijon hopes of avoid relegation suffered a big blow when they were thrashed 1-3 by Real Sociedad in a La-Liga Monday night game.

18th placed Sporting Gijon are five points away from safety, and their woes was compounded by a Real Sociedad team battling for a spot in Europe.

Sociedad raced onto a three goal lead with goals from Willian Jose, Juanmi and Yuri Berchiche at the Jose Luis Gonzalez Stadium before Elderson Echiejile popped up with a consolation for the visitors in the 87th minute.

The goal is the first by the defender since the 2012/2013 season when he scored in the Portuguese league during his three and half year stay with Sporting Braga.

On loan to Gijon from Monaco, his second loan spell of the season after spending six months at Standard Liege of Belgium, he has so far made three league appearances this season for the La-Liga strugglers.

Rohr Scouring Europe For Full Backs, Confirms Chelsea's Aina Has Opted To Represent Nigeria

Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is searching for tested fullbacks to bolster the Super Eagles squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifier versus South Africa and the double header against Cameroon in the World Cup qualifiers.

The German ran the rule over ex-England U19 skipper Ola Aina last month at a training camp in London and has confirmed that the right wing-back has committed his international future to Nigeria at senior level.

''We have Tyronne and Madu who may have game time issues, but we're working to get more options. I am confident we can get players,'' Rohr was quoted as saying by Brila FM.

''We have committed time in finding full backs.
''We have an option in Ola Aina of Chelsea , who has committed to Nigeria.''

Fifa must approve Aina's change of international allegiance within the next two months if the Nigeria Football Federation hope to hand him a call-up for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa.

I am confident we can get players,'' Rohr was quoted as saying byBrila FM.
