Aftermath of social media, u can not be reading and at the same time be vying to take a top spot on nairaland, face booking, Whatsapp and so on. If our youth can limit their access to social media, their problems will be half solved.

only d rich can browse during my time at d university, and I really thank God for that

It's so obvious from ur narration that d op is one of those pple that paid their way to gain admission at all cost, now he's facing d reality,,, my advice for u is to rediscover yourself, know when best u assimilate when u read , withdrawal from any irrelevant social groups on campus will b of great help, it's most likely u are being distracted from ur primary assignment in school, leave jujuman out of this ,,, next semester check ur cgpa and u can thank me later undecided

The problem lies with your mindset.
First ; you do not like the school
Secondly : you had sorting in mind but unfortunately 4u,it isn't possible
Try to look on the positive side of the school.
Develop ways of loving your lecturers n your courses.
Lastly, stay away 4rm women, most of them are destiny killers. cool cool

Bros, we are in Nigeria and the earlier you tell yourself the truth, the better. If reading and schooling is proving difficult for you, simply tell your parents and invest the money in learning a trade (I recommend Onitsha). In 4 or 5 years time, you will know where you are and even if you wanna further your education (preferably as a part time student), you continue

It is not to late to make better grades. Try to organise one of the best student in your class to take you on turorials pay him/her if possible and above all be closer to God.even if you don't finish with excellent grade at the end of it all just make sure you graduate so you don't waste your time and your parents money

Its just your first semester, so you still have a long way to go. You only need to restrategize. Perhaps your problem lies in the fact that you often overstretch your reading limits. Find out what works for you.
Take my case for example, I studied history back then in one of Nigeria's first generation universities. I started with a very poor result during my first semester, second semester was slightly better. Seeing my poor grades made me restrategize my reading methods. I realized that my problem was I couldn't read for long hours unlike other colleagues when I read for long hours before exams, I end up forgetting almost everything. So what I did was that after every lecture I read the course notes and related materials of every course often carrying extensive research on the topics, skimming and sweeping through for an hour or two daily. Such method equipped me strongly before exams thus before exams there was no need for me to carry out extensive reading. Well my method paid eventually as I ended up with a very commendable grade on graduation.
You have the potentials to make the best out of your studies irrespective of your present predicament or what you think. You need to rediscover your reading strengths and weaknesses and see how you can utilize them to make the best. Find out what works for you. We've all got varying ways of achieving results, all you need do is to think inwards and rediscover yours. You need to discover and adopt your own reading strategies; it will help you a lot.
