I don't think he is the type of player to replace Carrick. His passing is not crisp and imaginative enough and he can be sometimes clumsy with the ball.
But the first step is for Mourinho to decide what his primary formation will be next season and buy players who by and large will fit best into that system.
With Pogba being the 100m dollar man I think we need to play more 4-3-3 with a single CDM in order to give Pogba the best opportunity to succeed.
