Why is that local football academies seem to have much more succes in selling players to teams abroad. Comparatively to the same age bracket players playing competitive football in the NPFL.

It doesn't make sense.

I think, it is a reputation thing.

Many of the players from the league are much older than they claim. You think, you are buying a 20 year old but the player is closer to 30 and has just a few years of active football left.

By going to renowned local academies, you are more likely to get younger players.

So should we leave it that way and tell the people playing in the NPFL go die?

No, we should keep working to improve the standard of the league. The LMC have done a good job in the last few years.

Nowadays, big clubs would rather go pick a player from an academy than from the NPFL. That is why NPFL players end up in NorthAfrica, Israel, Malta and the likes.

That is why i am pleased with the LMC introducing youth teams.
What is it you see in these so called Street academies you hype up so much. The Federations cup is on currently at the state level, a club manager invited me to watch their game this evening and I did oblige.

You could see real talents on the ground if you watch these local teams. However, the plight of these teams and management structure is nothing to write home about. The only training equipment they have doesn't go beyond a couple of balls and a few training beeps. Players transport themselves to training and games, no training cones and dummys, medics zero, basically they train with nothing.
I don't know why you hype these academies so much. As far as am concerned, we have impostors pretending to run academies. How you compare these teams to fully equipped NPFL teams with a management structure and state allocations running into hundreds of million per season.

The kwara academy was the only academy I visited and dropped my hat. They had fully developed gym, about 7 training pitches and so many other world class facilities. I don't know what have become or that academy.

This is an academy player someone reported Shaktar were looking at. Just look at how unkempt he is. The scene if I am to say is probably a local primary school. This guy will run himself to the ground in a trial game just to sign for Remo stars.

It is like you don't get it.... Iheanacho leaving that CF role is not about whether he loses form or not or improves.... He has already shown he can deliver in the role of a CF... hasn't he?

But in the Super Eagles shirt, Osimhen, Tammy, And the other out-and-out no.9s rising will be too good to ignore... and Nacho's talents as a lethal AMF will come Into play to make our attack even more lethal, more dangerous and super fluid....

We will need to structure our Eagles based on our maximal strengths and that will mean Nacho eventually playing off a "fantastic" main striker as an SS or playing in the hole as the AMF... or in a 4-3-3 as the R-AMF otherwise called RWF.

Players from the leagues people call the best in Africa have not done much un Europe either. Without looking I know the NPFL has more players in Europe than Egypt and South Africa combined. We know we can get them there after all Ubong Ekpai is in Isreal without having to win the CAF champions league but now we want our clubs to get the right money. That will help our league with player wellfare.

Egyptians and South Africans don't go abroad too often because they earn enough at home. If NPFL clubs pay well, our players would rather stay at home instead of going to obscure leagues.

Sponsorship, ticket sales and jersey sales are critical for revenue. Clubs have to move away from government to private owners and run like proper businesses.

to be honest...the league has barely improved.
a league where away team can barely grab a win and even if they do...their lives are in danger...
a league... where non of the clubs can live up to expectations in the continental football unlike in the past where the likes of enyimba and heartland did so well....
a league where the players are massively owned their wages...

abeg...NFF really need to think outside the box to improve the league even if it involves taking the club off the state government and auction them to private companies and individuals and do so to the league...let it be run fully a private company..

to be honest I really think we need a good and functional league...just like the RSA and Egyptian, Tunisian etc league to win a world cup...
we can't expect European nations to develop players for us...just watch as the world cup draw close now... how some of our players we begin to sit on bench unnecessarily...

Published on Tuesday, 11 April 2017 14:51 Hits: 1488

•Sanctions Kano Pillars, Katsina United and Remo Stars
•Enyimba’s goalkeeper and two Pillars players suspended

Following recent pockets of fans restiveness at a few match venues, the League Management Company (LMC) has moved to reassure fans, players and coaches of their safety at league venues on match days.

The league body said it will continue to enforce safety regulations and sanction every acts of violation to deter unruliness at match venues.

“We recognise that football is a game of passion and there are bound to be emotional outbursts when people pursue their passion especially in supporting their favourite clubs. It is also in recognition of this that regulations have been put in place placing responsibility of on clubs to ensure safety of all on match days and expecting our players and coaches to uphold the highest level of decorum and discipline in carrying out their duties on the field”, the LMC said.

The LMC says that towards preventing repeat of some of the observed breaches, clubs have been strongly admonished to ensure that their ball boys are properly trained to uphold the very best standard practice.

Talented Hannover Striker Noah Bazee Back In Full Training

Noah Bazee has resumed full training with Hannover ahead of their German 2. Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Braunschweig on Saturday.

The Super Eagles hopeful had been on the sidelines since returning to Germany from London, where he attended a training camp with the Nigeria national team, but trained with the Hannover squad for the first time on Monday.

Bazee practiced for 95 minutes with the first team yesterday without suffering a relapse of his persistent knee injury.

Coach Andre Breitenreiter has four more days to observe the talented striker before deciding whether or not to include him in his 18-man squad for the game at the HDI-Arena.

The 20-year-old will train with the Super Eagles next month and is in line to make his debut against Burkina Faso in a friendly in France on May 26, according to Gernot Rohr.

Wenger will stay as Arsenal manager

Arsene Wenger will stay as Arsenal manager for another two years – whether the club miss out on the Champions League or not.

The manager and the Arsenal board have now finalised details over a two-year contract extension and are ready to fly in the face of growing unrest by announcing the deal before the end of the season.

Even missing out on Champions League football won’t alter the decision, though there will be a slight change to the structure with a director of football being brought in. Staff across all levels at the club have been working on the understanding the Frenchman’s reign will continue for the last few weeks.

Even with the club lurching from one crisis to another, there is no appetite within the Arsenal hierarchy to tell Wenger he is no longer wanted as manager. So despite mounting calls for a change at the top from an increasing number of supporters, Wenger will be cleared to attempt to clean up the mess he has helped create.

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi says he's not perturb on Leicester City's chances of knocking out Atletico Madrid in the quarter stages of the UEFA Champions League.

The Foxes will come head-head with pundits 'favourite' Atletico on Wednesdays in Spain despite going down 4-2 in Sunday's Premier League tie against Everton at Goodinson Park.

The Nigerian international was one of the big stars rested by Craige Shakespeare in order to avoid injuries that may prevent them from playing against Madrid.

Ndidi, who has featured in Champions League games, in their 2-0 win over Sevilla in the second leg after the first leg had ended 2-1 in Spain,

Sunday Oliseh Narrowly Escapes Getting Caught Up In Dortmund Bomb Blast – I was 200 Metres Away From The Scene

Former Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Sunday Oliseh narrowly escaped the scene of the blast which rocked the bus of Borrussia Dortmund few hours before their UEFA Champions League game against Monaco.

Oliseh who played for Dortmund during his playing days is a regular at the stadium during key games especially UEFA Champions League game, where he acts as one of the Technical Study Group the UEFA Champions League.

Yesterday was no different for the Fortuna Sittard coach as he was due to be at the Signal Iduna Park for the game, and was according to a statement from him 200 metres away from the scene of the blast.

“Thank God! I Was just 200 meters from the Dortmund stadium when D bombs struck Dortmund team Bus! Really Scary day but grateful to be safe!”, he posted on his official Twitter handle.

The game was moved to later today following the blast, which left Dortmund defender Marc Batra injured, with some reports claiming he underwent surgery to remove debris from his arm picked up from the blast.

Strongest Nigerian Player Anderson Esiti Makes Team Of The Week In Belgium Again

Hard as nail out of Favour Super Eagles midfielder Anderson Esiti has once again earned a spot in the team of the week in Belgium after his strong showing for Gent in their 0-0 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League Play Offs.

Esiti was rated as one of the best player on the pitch for Gent, who also had two other Nigerians in Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu taking part in the game as well.

Known for his hard tackles and strength in duels, the former Estoril of Portugal man neutralized the threat of Club Brugge going forward.

It is the third time he has made the team of the week in Belgium this season, a sign of how well he has settled down to life in Belgium following his switch from Portugal, where he spent four years following his move from Nigeria.

However despite his fine form, he has failed to convince coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr who has not called him up since the 2-1 win over Zambia in Ndola in the Super Eagles first World Cup 2018 Qualifiers game.
