That moment when you are done with an interview, on your way home you keep talking to yourself and people in the bus start to stare at you. For information purpose, the interview lasted for about 20 minutes to 30 minutes and i was told to present any topic that interested me on the businessday newspaper i was with. They expected some form of short and logical analysis of the article of choice, then they started launching questions right, left and center. |

Today was 'discussive'...... you basically have questions about the economy, recession, cbn policy, how to improve the economy, being thrown at you by a 5 man panel. I was tensed i entered but we had a little detour on introduce yourself in 30secs and a good laugh as well. The confidence began to stroll in gradually till it came back on fully. Then came the questions and i was answering using figures and so on. And then they asked if i found any other interesting article in the papers and asked me to discuss...... took a while and aftet that if i had any questions and it was a wrap. So all best guys. 1 Like |

For GMTP Seeing as we haven't been given any further directive, I suppose we'd be dealing with some sort of group activity (could be anything really, but guys I know that applied to Sahara in the past told me to expect some sort of group activity). As usual, keep an open-mind and all the best. |

Yes exactly for gaap...but I thank God mine wasn't tensed..it was fun..after the introduce yourself part..I was asked if I read the news normally..I told dem yes..I was asked about the senator with the certificate scandal..I talked about it..I stood up to do the "ajeku iya ni oje" song, they laughed..I chose a topic in d newspaper which I talked about...I was later asked about my thoughts on Nigeria being a mono economy...it was all good 1 Like |

My experience (GAAP): Summarised version. After the initial getting to know ourselves and banter, they asked the reason I felt they asked me to bring the paper. Then, they asked I should mention two things (from the paper) that was interesting to me. The first was an economic issue. The second was a sociocultural issue. The chief interviewer asked for my opinion on the first issue, and asked follow-up questions that if you're not versed in Nigeria's economy, you're likely to stutter. For the second issue, I was told to give a thirty-second presentation; no followup question was asked. The interview was more formal than the first. Their expressions were the same from the moment they began asking questions. I wasn't nervous though, except for the first minute. It was a six-man panel (well, a woman was there). |

Was i the only one that noticed we were just "Twenty something" on the list we signed on. Are we the last set of GAAP candidates left or others still have their interviews fixed for today or tomorrow? LaRochelle agroronnie et al. |
Re: Sahara Group Graduate Program 2017 by agroronnie: 1:02pm On Apr 12, 2017 |
I think we are only 29 left...GAAP candidates. And they will succeed in cutting off about 18-20 candidates, i dont think GAAP will be more than 5 candidates. Plus i heard there are two more interview stages. I was equally asked on why i was asked to bring papers.... my answer hovered around having analytical skills, i found it weird that they first asked questions about how recession started and how to resolve it and what is the aim of promoting SMEs. then asked me to speak on a topic i found interesting. I also felt they were assessing presentation, time management and communication skills. I spoke about stock market's latest results, felt extremely comfortable discussing stocks. I was tempted to ask how many more stages left but i thought this was the right time so i skipped that. I guess results after easter break. ......... i wish everyone luck and i'd really wish to work with the GAAP team that i met yesterday. ..... funnny and well informed people. Meanwhile who else has noticed that Sahara has not yet asked for credentials or checked Nysc certificate, o levels and bsc certificates or any of those age requirements things...... i guess one of the next levels with be benchmarking. My thoughts |
