Humility017: You don't want Eguavoen. But na him discover Mikel Obi, Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi, Isaac Promise, Ambrose Vanzenkin and co. But i think Eguavoen would be made the U20 coach while Manu Garba remains the U17 coach. Eguavoen has coached the Super Eagles so why cant he coach the Flying Eagles. The main challenge we may have is players selection. If he selects the right crop of players tactics will not be a problem. If NFF doesn't appoint him then Siasia should be called up. |

tbaba1234: That still doesn't make sense to me. The structures in the NPFL are considerably more grounded than a lot of these set up to make as much profit as possible individual academies. I believe age cheating is not unique to any sector. I actually think the individual academies built on individual funds are more likely to carry out age cheating. The only difference is that will by nature have younger players comparative to NPFL clubs. These are desperate to make money by hook or crook local academies, unlike the majority of NPFL clubs. Who want money yes but not as desperate. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 7:03pm On Apr 12, 2017 |
NPLF clubs are not in the business of falsifying players' age anyway IMO. I think players themselves do that, because they believe that will give them an advantage in the long run. As regards the academies they have no option but to present youthful players anyway even if it means the fake age is pretty close to the real ages of the players. Hence the case of age cheating in NPFL players is worse. I think @tbaba1234 and I are saying the same thing. komekn: |

komekn: Academy players usually do not get paid and as such tend to be younger. A 30 year old would normally not be found in an academy. He will be where he can earn some money. The last few young teams have come mainly from academies and are considerably younger than what used to obtain when we used league players. Apart from teams like MFM, Many league teams parade old men with football age. Also, Some academies have built a reputation with foreign clubs so they simply look for talents within those academies. |

Rangers players are ready to work with me, says Agbo Published on Wednesday, 12 April 2017 16:56 Hits: 109 By Ayo Olu Ibidapo Chukwuma Agbo, interim coach of Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Rangers International, has said his players are ready to work with him as he takes over the reins of the Enugu-based club following the sack of Imama Amapakabo. The management of Rangers International terminated the contract of Amapakabo on Monday evening following weeks of ultimatum mixed with strings of back-to-back poor results. They did make a swift move to name his little known assistant, Agbo as his replacement for the time being. Agbo who is also an assistant coach of the national beach soccer team, told npfl.ng that the body language of the players have shown they are ready to work with him. "I was a little scared and unsure of how the players will react to my new position. But they surprised me when in my first training they all responded fine and told me they were professionals and will give their best and help save Rangers from the current position we find ourselves," revealed Agbo. The Flying Antelopes are currently rock bottom of the NPFL log and Agbo knows his work is cut out as he would need to get all the support he needs to rescue the sinking champions from a position he maintains the management are keen to change and have promised to support him. "Myself and the management have had a robust discussion on what we must do to rescue the team. They have promised to support the team and give all necessary to change the fortune of the team," revealed Agbo. Agbo further confirmed that he plans to take advantage of the mid-season transfer window and sign new players to shore up where he has discovered the team are struggling especially in attack. Rangers' next game is against Zambia's Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup. The first leg ended 2-2 in Enugu. Agbo will be looking forward to his first major test in charge. A win will possibly brighten his chances to be named substantive coach of the team. The Rangers caretaker coach was a former striker in his playing days who played for Stationery Stores, 3SC and Julius Berger. He also featured in the CAF Champions League with Ivorian side, AS Beogouro. Agbo has had coaching stints with Bussdor United and was the coach who took Abia Warriors to the National League from the Nationwide League One. 1 Like |

Danycrusoe:their matter don tire me. Good to hear that Brila are planning to have a TV station. Even our national team games are no longer aired. I thing d last super eagles game aired was in 2015(Nigeria's friendly games against Cameroun n Luxembourg). Imagine how ridiculous it is for Nigerians to tune to foreign stations/cables just to watch their darling team play even here in Nigeria. What suprises me most is that things weren't like this in the last in decade. I still remember vividly that d old NTA showed live NPFL matches on sundays even when de were without all these affiliated stations of theirs(NTAsports, news24 etc). The most annoying part is that even NTA been a national station only give us picture of players when reporting(no highlights). NTA Sports which ought to be d pace setter are even d biggest culprit-they are always busy showing Athens, London n Rio Olympics replay. I'm still waiting for the first local cable network in conjuction with the LMC to break this jinx and bring us closer to our clubs. 1 Like |

ADO Den Haag Talent Ebuehi : Omeruo & Troost-Ekong Helped Me Settle Into Nigeria Squad ADO Den Haag young star Tyronne Ebuehi has revealed that defenders William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo helped him settle into the Super Eagles squad during last month's training camp in London. Understandably, Troost-Ekong took Ebuehi under his wing because he was born in the Netherlands, while Omeruo spent time with ADO Den Haag on loan shortly after his under the radar transfer to Chelsea in January 2012. ''I will not forget. William Troost-Ekong, who also has a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother, took me and showed me around, '' said Ebuehi to De Posthoorn. ''Kenneth Omeruo also came right to me. Nigeria have players from Manchester City and Arsenal and that is a difference in operation speed with what I'm used to.'' Ebuehi could not make his international debut against Burkina Faso as the friendly was cancelled, and will be assessed once again by Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr in France next month before the AFCON qualifier against South Africa. AIG07: I tire for NTA useless for everything. about our tv stations when they are reporting about foreign leagues they will gladly dedicate 5 minutes for the whole weekend's highlights but they v "error 404" like a Web page when it comes to national team highlights. channels TV annoys me more by showing training clips when reporting national team matches. MODIFIED @AIG07 brila fm has been on that tv station since 2013 or so |

Emeka Inyama REWARDS TEENAGE PROSPECT WITH CASH GIFT Chairman of NPFL side Abia Warriors, High Chief Emeka Inyama was a surprise guest at the Owerri centre of the ongoing NPFLU15Promises Tournament on Tuesday. Inyama who we learnt supervised the screening exercise of his team back in Umuahia to ensure only players under the age grade were picked was impressed with the lads' output despite going down 0-3 to Rivers United U15, a day after they lost 5-0 to Akwa United U15. One of the stars of the show, Abia Warriors' No. 10, Henry Udezuka who thrilled spectators with some lovely footballing skills however had cause to smile after the game when Inyama, the former NNL Chairman rewarded him with a cash prize of #10,000. Udezuka who was shocked and delighted by the gesture immediately sent #8,000 to his mum through one of his coaches while he shared the remaining #2,000 with his teammate. Inyama stated that it was his own way of encouraging the young lads who he believes have a great future ahead of them in the game regardless of what results they post in this year's tournament. The youngster while speaking after the game thanked the club Chairman and stated that the skills he used are natural gifts from God. He also added that Emeka Isaac in the senior team is a player he likes and wants to surpass in his career. So, keep that name: Henry udezuka 3 Likes
