nemesis2u: Imo,you're the best poster here! You have real doable proposals and simple solutions-but then again you know your poo! Others would've lectured on a combi of Mwaris and 20 mn$ gunships. Ideally,it'd be a twin turbo;but can the Pucara/OV10 handle a 23mm 2 barrel or even a 30mm? The WW2 Airacobra had a massive 37mm gun but it was fixed I still see a need for dumb bombs and/or fixed gun/rockets;occasionally even these 5$ 'tards do dig in. 1 Like |

Fidha254: Many forumers here are totally naive about the realities of the int'l arms trade. No less than Eeben Barlow S African COIN expert stated many countries are bamboozled into buying wrong equipment. Not to mention our exchange rate which makes everything even more costly than they should. Luckily, things have changed and India increasingly is a producer of all products. This is their version of a light attack plane, the HTT 40. 1 Like |

The reincarnation of an iconic battle rifle,DSA SA 58. The carbine version of the venerable FN. Its still 7.62 NATO,but lighter and shorter barrel. These are the variants. The intended FN replacement, the FNC for some reason had nowhere the success of its original when it came out in the 80s (no idea why, though)and IIRC only Indonesia and Belgium adopted it. If it were up to me we'd all have the DSA SA 58 cause in life the biggest lesson is go with what works. 1 Like |

DEATHMACHINE:The veterans group to which Leon Lotz belonged obviously has it wrong then. And so does this and other accounts: The icirnigeria.org learnt two of the South African mercenaries were killed in what military sources said was in “non – combat circumstances” that still remains unclear till date. The two foreign fighters were said to have been killed by friendly fire in an incident that could easily have been avoided. PICS: STTEP Archives 1 Like

frumentius:Correct marfa ! My bad ! although it shares close proximity to gwoza, there are established line of actions to determine friend or foe whenever an advancing force is detected including communication unfortunately that wasn't the case because 81BN elements couldn't establish that with the advancing force according to the account of my colleague cos I was at another axis at that time. Truth is what happened that night was unfortunate. This conflict has installed valuable lessons 4 Likes |

Moroccan AML-20. Interestingly this was the most heavily armoured turret ever fitted on the AML vehicle to date. When they ordered these the Moroccan Army specified they wanted an armour thickness of at least 20mm on the turret face. The heaviest armour plate used on any AML up until that point was only 16mm!

To those saying the CH3 are not operational. Boko Haram: Air force introduce drones and L-39ZA aircraftIntelligence shows locations of insurgents The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday said it has introduced an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) and L-39ZA fighter aircraft into the ongoing fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the Northeast. During a press conference in Yola to give an giving an appraisal of the operations of the NAF in the first quarter of 2017, the Air Component Commander (ACC), Operation Lafiya Dole, Air Commodore Charles Owho said the introduction of the new platforms was necessitated by the enlargement of the NAF Area of Responsibility (AOR). The additional platforms deployed would join the now ageing Alpha jets, F9 jets, Mi 35 helicopters which have been in action since the beginning of the war on the insurgency. Already the UCAV CH-3A has already conducted Air Interdiction on March 27, 2017. Air Commodore Ohwo also revealed that several Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations by the NAF has revealed that following the fall and capture of the insurgents former headquarters in Camp Zairo, most of the fighters fled to the West of Sambisa stretching up to the Southwest of Maiduguri and into Yobe State, while some others had moved to the East and Southeast of Sambisa towards Gwoza Hills and Tagoshe Hills. Owho said the Air Component of Operation Lafiya Dole has concentrated its air power the areaswith a view to further decimating the remaining BHT elements and facilitating the activities of own surface forces in the area. In a series of air operations including Air Interdiction, Close Air Support for ground troops, Air Recce, Combat Air Patrol and ISR, the ACC said the Air Component has successfully prevented the regrouping of Boko Haram Insurgents while providing effective air cover for ground troops for clearance operations. Among the operations conducted by the Air Component was the provision of daily air support for clearance operation in the south-west of Maiduguri at Boko Haram camps in Talala and Ajigin. At the same location, on February 1, 2017, Alpha jets provided Close Air Support for ground troops to repel an attack from Boko Haram. Also, operations conducted by the troops of 21 brigade of 7 Division also provided ISR for the clearance operations in Ngoshe and Mabila high grounds. Also, the ISR platform also conducted various operations in Arege, northern Borno where a platoon of Boko Haram insurgents was sighted. “Our ISR aircraft maintained visual over BHTs in Arege and tracked them as shown on the screen. The BHTs took advantage of poor visibility and the terrain to escape imminent air strikes. “However, the efficient communication of the ISR ac with MNJTF forces eventually led to the dislodgement of the terrorists in a firefight. In this encounter, about 57 terrorists were killed and many injured while technical, weapons and ammo were recovered,” Ohwo said. |

This version posts pics BUT still likes sticking his behind out just for us to whip it while enjoying the pics. We're hoping he reaches a state of enlightenment and that's when he'll call himself Henry360. That's a complete turn around of behaviour. Until then, enjoy his pics and whip his a$s while at it. 2 Likes |
