The interview humbled most of us. Till now, I am yet to recover. believe me, no matter howit is described or explained, you will never get the true picture until you experience it.

Hey, sorry it's coming in late. I knocked out once I got home.

It's a group presentation combined with some sort of group interview too (they wouldn't ask anything serious for the group interview). You'd be given a case study, within which a couple of business related problems to solve. Be analytical and think outside the box. On the bright side, you'd have quite some time to prepare the presentation and even more time to prepare yourselves for the presentation. Every group member should understand every aspect of the presentation too. I hope this didn't come in too late.

All the best.

Just finished my interview, how I wish I saw mrmuttons post earlier.
Mrmuttons has everything you need to know.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
This was the worst interview I have ever been to, my group sha, we did all the wrong things right and all the right things wrong. It was easy for the panel to poke holes in our defense. It got to a point we just freestyled. One or two of my group members talked well sha. Anyways this is where I sign off, I would have wished for a second chance, but too bad there isn't one.Adios.
P.S we were about 131 on that list.

Please don't feel bad especially since it really isn't over until IT'S OVER.

I honestly do not believe that seeing the post earlier would have adequately prepared you to do better. Especially since the post wouldn't have chosen better group members for you and you'd still have been left with the uncertainty of which case study you would be given. As bad as you think it was, there must have been something you learnt - maybe even something new about yourself. Ruminate more on the lessons learnt and keep the hope alive.

Hope is always useful, even if it doesn't get you Sahara as your reality, it would definitely yield you a reality - watch out for it wink
In any case, please don't sign off your mind just yet. smiley

Good evening Jazmiynne....How was yours?
Lolz

Good evening.

Mine was An Experience smiley

You might have noticed that I like long posts to explain what I really mean.... So before I start my epistle, let me say that as much as I LOVED the experience yesterday, my heart has been in my mouth as I've replayed the interview a million times trying to place some kinda score for myself... Lolz I can't wait to see the mail #anticipation #hope #faith

I'd start with plenty kudos to Sahara. Oh my word! They can keep to time shaaa! in time not on time cheesy I think this is part of my crazy affection for the firm.

My team was fabulous! When I realised twas' to be a group work, I prayed for a good team. And I loved what I got. 3 handsome men, 3 beautiful ladies and the team was set! We got on like wild fire. It was fun to brainstorm with them really and it was even more exciting as we presented and nobody was stuttering or fidgeting. Choi! I silently said HalleluJah! I don't know their monikers, but mehnn kudos to my team, we made teamwork look so sweet. Yaayyy and the sweet feeling was evidently mutual for them as they decided to make me team leader. Lemme quickly add that... my best part facing the panel was where they asked the team why they chose me to lead, tell you the truth, I had no idea why! But one of my teammates gave a reason that humbled me. It felt really good to see myself in another's eyes.

Owkkaaaayy now that I've totori you and you are now feeling how sweet it must have been.. ... grin

Facing the panel was another level of experience. They asked questions that must make you use your brain. The discussion was engaging. And my team and I gave it a really good fight. At some point they asked a question which I think confused some members of the group cos their response to the question had me dropping my jaw in surprise. We had our flaws wella but I loved the fact that none of us seemed to get deterred by it. We just kept on pushing. It was an exciting one really.

In all, I loved learning and seeing for myself how quickly we could get to work together as a team to yield success.
It was fun meeting with individuals I'd never met and yet we just clicked intellectually.
I LOVED the brainstorming
I enjoyed the experience
It taught me some new stuff about me
It taught me the power embedded in a team focused on success

Really, I don't know what mail I'd get... I sincerely hope it's a success mail. Nevertheless, I'd still repeat again that I LOVED the experience. Loved the test of thinking ability... Loved the brainstorming

Hi guys. I just joined.Well for me the experience was a different one. Very interesting, intellectually stimulating and fun. My team did the best we could. And so we just hope for the best. Remember the race is not for the swift, or crafty but it is of God who shows mercy. So let us wait and have faith that we will be called to the next stage.

Ok want to speak about something I noticed, hope I don't write too much(which I will probably do in the end). I believe the method of randomly grouping individuals varying capacities in order to assess them using a level measure is flawed. It ends up in the formation of runt packs, super groups amidst other groups with the same general level of experience and member skills. Multinational coys usually try to reduce this discrepancy by using the cvs of the members to create the groups. This leads to the second issue, one which is easier and less tedious to correct but has a greater impact on the level of equality amongst candidates. All groups where presented the case study exercise at the same time , and where given the same time to complete the slides. However the time of presentation was different , memebers of group one where immediately bundled away to make presentations with little to no time to prepare and polish their presentation while other groups had more time to work on this, and if you're lucky to fall in the final group where you'd meet a tiring panel team (they're human after all), all the better. If this added disadvantage for earlier groups isn't taken into consideration (I doubt it is) then as usual many qualified people end up falling by the way side with a certain bitterness of "what might have been"(I'd like to know what group the gentleman who posted earlier about throwing in the towel was in) not being avle to truly shine in a process not purposely but nonetheless setup against them. A uniform system where all the groups present at the same time in different panels, or on different days(like pwc) will rectify this . I'm saying this not from a victims perspective as I was in a later group, but knew someone who had thrown in the towel a day earlier, because he had suffered the raw end of the system, which made me sympathize with those in the first group on the day I had mine.

It is clear the first interview was by HR panel and this second interview was by the managers. Usually, a standardized interview should be 3 or 4 stages. Now having met middle or senior managers (cos i noticed a lot of cars and SUVs parked outside) and also with rumours calming 2 more stages, which am thinking would be documentation, benchmarking or medicals, because if we have to sit with another panel higher than the last level of managers, it would certainly be the CEOs Mr. Cole or a panel of Jesus and his angels, because having Mr. Cole and co would be misappropriation of top management's time.
My thoughts. ....

Sadly, I'm pretty sure we have one last interview . If you check the last gmtp process in 2015. After the group presentations , there was the final interview. With who? I have no idea as The group presentation panel were senior managers. So maybe we just might get to meet Jesus and his angels shocked
Re: Sahara Group Graduate Program 2017 by Nobody: 10:20am On Apr 16, 2017
Lol, @agroronnie. Meeting Mr Cole wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Ozymandias69 you made complete sense. I for one had identified the too many flaws in working with a group that was randomly selected, so i vehemently prayed for a standalone interview. We have different goals and perspectives, i might give 100% while others put in less due to various factors. At the end of the day if the group performs poorly it'll affect everyone irrespective of how well you've performed.

Lolz

It's an ongoing initiative spearheaded by the world bank that advocates for investing in Adolescents to propagate the Sustainable Development Goals especially in poor countries.

The idea is that the Adolescents are the GenerationNow... If we invest in them Now, we would have the Tomorrow we wish for; Rather than waiting for them to grow and then attempt to teach the old dog new tricks.

There'd be live streaming of an online lecture about it by the world bank on April 20 at 4pm.
You could get a reminder by registering your mail on http://live.worldbank.org/investing-in-adolescents
Re: Sahara Group Graduate Program 2017 by Nobody: 8:18pm On Apr 16, 2017
wow, not bad. even me i need investment for my life o grin grin.

@jazmiynne but how do they select the adolescents they'd invest in? We all know they can't invest in every adolescent, so hopefully they wouldn't just pick rich kids from nations they have a stake in and call it quits.

Well, the initiative projects itself as focusing on Adolescents in poor countries. Even at that, they truly can't on their own support every adolescent in these countries.

I think that's why there's the conversation to advertise the #GenerationNow live streaming. I think that the lecture would be aimed at enlightening individuals, groups and nations on how to empower their Adolescents. Thus, the bulk of the investment burden is passed from the World Bank down to the nations, groups and individuals. So all who watch the lecture should 'go home' thinking of "how can I invest in the Adolescents around me?"

Truly, if all who watch the programme make earnest practical efforts to invest in the Adolescents around them, I believe that the goal of #GenerationNow would be greatly achieved. That's because the investment becomes a culture which permeates the society and gradually becomes norm.

cheesy You know when a public holiday falls on a weekend, the next working day (usually Monday) becomes public holiday. That's how you people started calling it Easter Monday.

See the way I'm talking with authority. That's my opinion though. I don't know if that's the reason for today being called Eatster Monday. Agroronnie, do you suggest we write to the Pope to ask him?
