I will say the facilities are owned by foreigners and have powered their work stations. The issue with Nigerian government is, they never ready to make electricity project work.

How did you know that?

Learn not to misinform people in public, the foreigners own the facilities in part while they are allowed to operate them.

Some of you wil l be in america and be getting angry when we insult Nigeria, you dont know how much we are going through, you dont know how hard we struggle to feed daily, you dont know how we sleep in darkness all the time, when your parents have labored so much to see you through school, and you come back home after graduating without job, you dont know how frusterating it is, how painful it is to see your family suffer without been able to help, if you are lucky and you got a job lets say like 20k monthly, its either you are been owed your Salary or one Oga is there frusterating your life, theres absolutely nothing to enjoy here, my friend travelled to Romania with the help of his parents, his first message to me was, guy we are living in hell in nigeria, Please nobody should come here and spit trash again o, None of you is even willing to help.

With your narration, will you rather live in Venezuela where water is rationed?
Guess that place should be........

Nigeria is bleeped because of the people in it, most people who live in Nigeria don't qualify to be humans let alone deserve a society.

A fvcked mind can not raise a decent society.
I have lived in places in Nigeria where the numb skulls are denied access and those places are very organised.

A natural process just has to occur to carefully eliminate the numb skulls before Nigeria can make process.

Average salary for entry-level paralegals in California is around $50k. Those with 5 or more years of experience earn around $65-$70k.

The market for paralegals is quite saturated within San Diego; but other parts of Southern California aren't so saturated

Hello etisoa97,

I would have loved to just read and pass, but i could help but drop this.

Yes, 2 million is too small. Wait , before you come for my head let me brake it.

I heard you wanted medicine in US or Canada. with just 2 million, even 5 million self you will really struggle.

Here is what was posted on the US student forum,

Anywhere in the world, Medicine and cheap don't go in the same sentence. Anywhere you go to in the world to study Medicine, they see you (an Int'l student) as a cash cow. You need all the money you can get. Even native Americans take crazy loans for their kids to study Medicine, with the hope that the money they make later will pay back those loans. A pre-med program is a standard four-year degree, during which you satisfy the requirements to get into a Medical school. In the US, you can study Biochem, Math, even Philosophy; as long as you're able to satisfy the app requirements during those four years, you're good.

So, your options: -

- Apply for the Federal Govt scholarship to study Medicine abroad (if it's still active). OR
- Find someone with a deep cash pocket to pay. In the US, it's 4 years of pre-med, and then 4 years of Med school. Thereafter, you might offset the costs, if you'll be getting a PhD in clinical research, which would then be free. But expect no free money for the first 8 years. In Ukraine or Russia, it's six years of Med school, right after O'level. OR
- Sit down and work really hard on your O'level courses. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math, English. Read until you get it. Turn off Facebook. Resist cramming. Take UTME, post-UTME, and get into a top Med school in Nigeria. E.g. UI, UNIBEN, OAU, UNILORIN. They don't have great Int'l standings, but for now, they're the best we've got. Of course, work hard, and complete your med school in any of those

Okay, so as you know 4 years pre-med plus 4 years med school
Cost for pre-med (using Northwestern University as reference): Total tuition only cost for the 4 years is $52,239. Using #300 to $1, amounting to #15,671,700
Cost for med school (using Emory University as reference): Yearly Tuition cost is $25,000. For 4 years, is $100,000. Amounting to #30,000,000
Your Total tuition only is about #45,000,000.

With this, you see that the 2million is a joke, I'm not belittling your effort or looking down on your dreams. I just want you to be realistic with your options.

On your family issue, the greed of many relatives. I would ask, if you the first son was around and they took 70% of the company if you go manage to leave now, don't you think they will make it 100%? I'm giving thinking ooh!!!

Despite all these points i raised, I still believe it is still achievable. Yes, i heard of my mum's colleague son that got a fully funded pre-med school. No joke. about 30million scholarship.

My advice, marry the usa student visa page, start reading from maybe part 7 if you can. Take SAT and TOEFL, smack it with your life, who knows, your story can be another fairytale we would talk about in the coming years.

Please for your good, Never, I repeat Never use any agent. You can do all these your self, just plan early

Frank, sorry for the long post, I won't do it again.

Welcome, we help one another.

yes, you can work and school but, no matter your work you are only eligible to 20 hours per week during session and 40 hours per week on holidays.

I intentionally based my calculation on tuition alone. As someone can work and pay for his/her accommodation and living expenses. After that, you would have little on nothing left. So how then do you pay for tuition.

Let me remind you, if americians get loans for their kids in medical school despite, mother father and the the kid working upto 3-4 jobs, how then will someone limited as an F-1 student be able to foot the bills. Well, you might if you are able to write a coding to communicate with aliens. Believe me, the money silicon valley and NASA will pay for the 20 hours per week will be more than what you need for 30 years med school.

Wait, @franknetter, sorry again for the epistle. one love bro

Now I know why suarez and barcelona players like diving on the turf. grin the thing be like carpet, very comfortable grin grin.

So, as a soccer lover, I've always been on the lookout for places to play ball close to my house. While driving, I normally come across soccer pitches, but I rarely see people playing. So I did a Google search and it directed me to "google meetups". I searched for a venue closeby and luckily, they were playing. So i packed my old nigerian gear which includes my okirika (second hand) boot and jersey, enter motor and zoomed off. After driving for about 30-35 mins, I arrived at the venue. They had started playing sha, so I had to wait and see if a space would open up. While waiting, I did two laps round the pitch. I had to stop 'cos I was panting like a goat grin

Someone made a hard tackle and had to leave the game, so I was presented a bib to join the game. As I show up with my old boot, everyone just dey look me with one eye. Needless to say, I really enjoyed myself, but I'd be looking to buy new sports gear sha.

Nice move Frank. Congrats! It's a different ballgame living in a western world most esp the US or UK in terms of food, weather, advancement in technology, lifestyle etc. Seems you were studying medicine before migrating. However, you dont really need to pursue a career in the medical field in the States to make good money unless you have a passion for it. I would suggest you delve into computer science or information systems and you will never regret you did, since you already have a penchant for computers. Once you get your SSN, DL and GC you are then "ripe" for the job market lol. Please dont be so excited in getting a job and then grab just any kinda job you find. Some jobs may not be worth doing.. lol. Although, you have to start from somewhere. God bless your hustle!
Please do go back to school asap. That would put you at great advantage in the US. Also, the friends you keep would either make or mal you.
#Shalom.

Haha grin when I was in Nigeria I used to calculate it like you. Sorry bro it doesn't work that way o. Here you are heavily taxed from your income that is what they use in developing all the social amenities around.
Let's say I earn 43,000€ per annum that 3,500€ per month in naira @ 450 exchange rate its 1,575,000 million naira per month (chei this people are killing us here) however, after uncle SAM or Aunty Merkel in my case is through with me(deductions from tax, social insurance, health insurance, job loss Insurance, church tax, TV tax, etc) I am finally left with only about 1900-2000€). Mind you government must take their money first before it gets to you. When you see what comes back to you, you wont find it funny o. Like my last salary, I looked at my Gross, smiled then came down to the bottom of the paper and wailed cry
Then I pay rent in a small apartment for 1,100€ monthly! That's about 495,000 naira per month! what is left is transport(expensive!), feeding(thank God its cheap), send money home etc To get major things done like to buy a good car, house you need credit. Cost of living abroad is very expensive. So never use your Nigerian judgement to evaluate our pay here. Its a totally different ball game here. That's how advanced countries operate. Even if you aim to earn higher its higher taxes too so at the end of the day everyone is around the same bracket. You won't be poor, you will be comfortable but defibately not rich in Naija definition. Throwing money all around, and employing cook, driver, house maid etc nobody can afford that except the very very wealthy.
And when you work here, you work HARD, no lazying around or gisting, work time is work time.

let our brothers in the US reply. I don't know the names of taxes they take but Uncle SAM will sure take his money grin
Your rent will depend on where you live. My friend in east Germany pays 250€ for same apartment. However most people won't want to live in those parts. Then any credit taken will also be deducted, phone bills and many more will be deducted. What comes back to you after all deductions is the main thing. Your savings is the koko. This is something that is way easier to do in Naija- to SAVE
