i think you should explain it if its quite different from what has been seen in the history of the account, so explaining it would totally eliminate any concern about lodgement in your account, the way those VO's they reason mehn, u need to clear their doubts oo. its well.

Good morning all, I have some questions Regarding the study permit application
1. If I live outside Nigeria do I need to submit a police report from Nigeria or only from my country of residence
2.can someone please share any sample of a well structured letter of explanation (LOE) here?

Thank you!

1.You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18.

check CIC link on this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

2. Check this link for a sample of SOP. im aware u asked for LoE but u can use this as a guide for urs as well.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

If the bank draft will cover the cost of tuition and living expenses for a yr, do I still have to include bank statement? I do not wish to include bank statement.

No, you don't have to. You may need to include the bank statement or any other financial source if your program is more than a year.

The idea of including statement of account is to show that:
1. You have available balance to fund your studies and living expenses for atleast a year.

2.You/sponsor can earn enough to fund subsequent year(s).

If you have other means to show these, by all means use them including your pay slips.

The bank draft issued in canada in YOUR NAME will even make it convincing as it will show funds are already domiciled in canada. So YES, you can use it as long as the funds available meets IRCC requirements. This is the most IMPORTANT thing.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Nobody: 7:29pm On Apr 17, 2017
Please I need some clarification on fixed deposits as I seem to be reading conflicting reports here:

1. Can I present a fixed deposit as funding for my TRV?
2. I understand that GTB will give me a fixed deposit certificate. I suspect that will just show the amount I have in FD
but will it show the period I started the fixed deposit? I have called GTBAnk care line several times and they have not
satisfactorily answered this question.
3. Is it advisable I transfer my fixed deposits to my savings account? Hope it wont look like money lodgement since I may not
be able to get a FD statement to show the trail? I dont even know if there is such a thing as fixed deposit statement.
4. The source of my funds are long term savings and some of these funds were originally transferred to FD like 2 years ago, though
there has been some liquidations and re-investments over the years which a 6 month bank statement will not show. Should I print a statement from previous years to show when those monies were transferred to fixed deposi?
5. Is there any banker in the house that can help me?

Please if you have any idea, help me with clarification or ideas. Thanks

God bless you guys for the great job done on this platform.
I was introduced to this thread by a friend who used information gotten here to successfully secure a TRV.
I was refused in my 1st application in December 2017 for these reasons;
1) Have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
2) Purpose of visit.
3) Personal assets and financial status.
My Details and Submitted Documents;
Proposed course of study; MEng University of Ottawa (Electrical and Computer Engineering) Winter Term 2017
Undergraduate Course; BEng University of Benin 2.1(Electrical/Electronic Engineering) 2012

Siblings Birth Certificates.

I have gotten my GCMS notes and intend to apply again by mid May for Fall term Sept. 2017.
I plan using a co-sponsor (Elder Sister) and paying my fees for the fall term.

I need help in reviewing my SOP and also Tackling reasons for my refusal to avoid stories that touch.

Emeify. Fixed deposit, no problem smiley

Print the statement of your account in which the funds for the fixed deposit was obtained 6months.

If the fixed deposit has been running for several months, attach all the certificates. I attached seven months' history certificates in my application; I was rolling over monthly.

Explain in your SOP including all the dates.

This is what I did and I got my TRV.

Cheers. wink

Kindly share what ur GCMS file read. What is d relationship between ur present/previous employment with your proposed course of study?

How many dependants has u sponsor (mum)? You should pay atleast a year tuition fees plus have the 10kCAD in deposits for your living expenses. If u have any personal assets (land docs, shares certificate etc) include it, for your financial status, what is ur annual earnings? And probably boost your account over time and avoid money lodgment.

My above stated points are just solely my opinion.

Thanks. Problem is I was not getting any certificates from GTBank, only emails, and I have already deleted the old ones.
What i thought of doing is: specify the dates when i transferred to fixed deposit from my savings account but goes as far back
as 2014 with some roll overs ans some liquidations in between.

Can I print some months from previous years showing when I did the transfer? It would be too
much to print from 2014 to date right?

House, I graduated in 2008 with 4.11 cgpa (Business Admin). I have been teaching Commerce and Business Studies in secondary schools since after my NYSC programme in 2010 till date. Now, i got admitted by NBCC to be sponsored by a friend to study Business Analysis (PGD), which is in line with my undergraduate course. Please, what are my chances with regards to TRV approval considering the time lag between when i graduated and now, with unrelated work experience. And will the PGD fly in the eyes of the VOs? Can a good SOP do the magic? The gurus in the house, please help me x-ray my TRV approval odds.

with that CGPA you need to go for a masters program do not waste your time and money for PGD I had similar experience 2015/2016 the VO will need reasons why you want a PGD not a masters program and that is a long thing....

and for the time frame its just ok as long as you can explain what you have been doing with evidence

Apparently you didn't convincingly establish the relationship between your undergraduate study and most especially your current work with your intended master in electrical and computer engineering.

Sometimes, applicant will need to broaden a visa officer's scope about program fields and relationships. A good and detailed statement of purpose will serve and enlighten more. In your next application, expantiate further on COMPUTER and ELECTRICAL aspect of your current job. Do not expect that they will know, there might be horizons to your job that is unknown to them.

Talk about how your undergradute study evolved through to your current job, the specific content of your program and or job description of your current job. The main thing to focus on is showing that the master degree will be an addition to your profession. Attention will be paid to what you are currently doing and how it relates with what you are about to study. Every details about this must tend towards a need to gain further knowledge.

Also make your aspiration very clear and explicit. Your undergraduate study and intended master discipline is WELL in-line but a greater percentage of how it is right and best for your career lies in the POWER of the tool called STATEMENT OF PURPOSE. That is going to be you weapon. However, pay closer attention to the VO's inference on the GCMS file.

To your tuition, a year school fees should be quoted on your offer letter. This is a standard CIC requirement from schools admitting international student.

So quote the exact tuition on your letter and get the equivalent in naira also subtract the equivalent of your living expenses plus your first YEAR tuition from the 9.5M..it should give you an idea of what went wrong regarding insufficient funds for tuiton. Another issue may be money lodgement was noticed in the account statement.
