BABY MOURINHO who thinks he invented Football.

'What kind of nutcase are you?' Schmidt yelled. 'Do you think you invented football? Shut your mouth.'

That was former manager of Bayer Leverkusen yelling at Julian Nagelsmann, the coach known as the one in hunt for the signature of the promising Nigerian striker Iheanacho. This is just a snap view of what makes this young coach, youngest in the history of the Bundesliga when he became head coach of Hoffenheim at 28 years old, a good destination for Nacho.

Nagelsmann is a coach who worked under the promising Tuchel who is respected for his possessive style of play and eyes for promising young talents. His team plays at tremendous pace.

After Nagelsmann suffered knee injuries that put an end to his playing career, Tuchel who was coach of Ausburg gave Nagelsmann a job as club scout and part of his technical analysis crew. Nagelsmann was just 20.

He later became a youth coach at Hoffenheim and had a successful spell, including lifting the title. That was where he was dubbed the Baby Mourinho.

He rejected a job at Bayern Munich to work with their youth team and got an almost impossible task to save Hoffenheim from relegation. Being the youngest coach in the history of Bundesliga, this looked impossible.

Nagelsmann did not only save Hoffenheim, they now sit third on the Bundesliga table. This is remarkable considering he is 29 now.

A coach to watch out for. He plays a high intensity pressing style like Klopp when his team loses the ball. He also likes his team to keep possession like Guardiola and Tuchel.

With his history as a scout and working Tuchel who is good at Managing young talents, he seems a man who can spot quality young talents.

With his ability to transform a relegation threatened club into a team close to qualifying for the champions league in few months, it shows Nagelsmann has a lot to offer the game of football.

He may not have invented football but he is inventing something special.

If Nacho wants to make a move from City, I see Hoffenheim as a right direction.

I am suspecting Rohr who has deep knowledge in German Youth football.

A good one.

So, would you and Pep now release Iheanacho?

Nice write up but with some misconceptions.

Sterling is performing better because Guardiola gave him the license to run at players. To have a more direct style to his play. That is the way to get the best from Sterling. He was the man of the match in the last game he started. I do not think that I too bad.

Joe Hart refused to sit on the bench and learn. His ego got the best of him because Caballero showed the footwork Guardiola wants can be mastered.

As for Bravo, the problem was how poor our defenders was coping with Guardiola's defensive build up plays. As the defenders get better holding the ball, Bravo looks more a nice fit.

There is no misconceptions anywhere. 100 people cannot all be blind. You just dont wanna admit it and its fine. I knew you were so gonna defend that to the letter. But the same Sterling makes unforgiveable mistakes. And another thing is, people have strengths and weakness. Why not play them in other areas of strength. For instance, i see no reason why Iheanacho cannot work as a 10 or as a winger or better still as a supporting striker.. the truth is Pep wants only one man upfront. And it still has not translated to better performance on the part of Aguero. Aguero has gone goaless a ouple of games and he still has the confidence of his coach. And thats all we are askin for Nacho. Or is it too much to ask? Remember.... even in city, apart from aguero, none of his players have hit the 10 goal borderline. So all scam of development and all that should not be emphasized at all. I believe in 2nd, 3rd, 4th chances until you get it right. I believe in bringing out the best in a player. Mikel was never a holding midfielder. Mourinho moulded him into one. The almighty mikel who was only second to Messi as MVP. One can only wonder what would av been if mikel went on to be a fearless 10.

OK. I see the point here. So in order for the clubs to do well at continental level we need to give the players international exposure. Like flooding them into the Super Eagles team? Don't u think it should be the other way round?

Besides we have all agreed that the CHAN is there for them.

As for the Manu's boys my take Was The hyping was too much. I never bashed them.

Then don't complain when they don't do well. Its simple as that because u already know why they lost. Zamalek has members of the African runners up on their squad but yet people can run online and say i told u so. This is not about calling players up, we all need to be behind Rivers United we win as a country and lose as a country. I don't know why u should be happy that our teams are not doing good. Even if u are in Alabama this looks bad on all of us.

I think Rohr had something to do with the failed leverkusen move. I don't see anything going on in Germany without his knowledge. Iheanacho was dropped from the match day squad right before the window closed. I still feel a falling out might have happened.

So u sincerely feel reason why our clubs are not doing well continentally is bc their players do not play for the national team?

I repeat, don't you feel it should be the other way round. That is reason why the NPFL players are not in the national team is by they do not do well continentally.

Let's draw a case from the all conquering Enyimba team of 2003-2004. Before they won their maiden CAF title how many of them were playing for the national team? Just enyeama. Recall that after that back to back CAF tittle win players like Obinna Nwanneri, Onyekachi Okonkwo and Dele Ayenugba earned places in the Super Eagles.

Also the Zamalek players play for the Pharaoh's bc they do well at continental level.

And let me correct one impression. None of us is happy about the dismal performance of our clubs. I am a core Enyimba Fan. My loyalty lies more with Enyimba than even Arsenal.

The clubs just continue to justify what coach Salisu said about their players.

As I said previously, that if Rivers United manages to scale through to the next round. Good for them and their fans. And let me also add: good for Bascovanveli. Lol!

So biko.... I smell the hands of Rohr and also the same pattern with De bruyme repeating of Nacho makes the move (most likely a loan move... I want an outright sale) to TSG hoffenheim.

The coveyour belt in Germany keeps churning out world class managers every season, Nagelsman is another of such example.
From what I know about him, he's a former student of Tuchel who in turn was mentored by the legendary Wolfgang Frank. Jurgen Klop also went through Wolfgang Frank's mentorship. David Wagner, the manager at Huddersfield is another of the Wolfgang Frank philosophy. He's been impressive with Huddersfield this season.

Kelechi will be fine at Hoffeinheim, Monchenglabach, Schalke and Hertha Berlin. These clubs have been great training youngsters. In England, Southampton will be very good for him.

Outside of this Kelechi matter, am surprised nobody have brought this up. Carl Ikeme have been ruled out of the season. This means he is out of the South African game and maybe out if the Cameroun games (I believe he will still be recuperating). Where do we go from here?
I think Rohr brought up the recall of Enyeama because he had prior knowledge of Ikeme's condition.
The Gk position is more worthy of discuss than Kelechi at the moment.

Zesco United. A big club.

So what do you say of clubs like Zamalek, Al Ahli, Esparence, Sfaxien, TP Mazembe, Mamelodi Sundowns.

I sincerely really didn't feel much bad when they lost away to Zamalek 4-1 and won 2-1 in Enugu.
But drawing 2-2 with Zesco in Enugu and losing 3-0 away is unpardonable.

Iheanacho is in the best position to decide if he wants to move. If he feels he is ready and he can continue his development without Guardiola's guidance, he has my blessings. However, If Nacho notices improvement and feels he will gain more at a rapid rate staying at City, he also has my blessings.

Although I suspect Rohr wants to regularly monitor one of his star players on the pitch.

People have strength and weaknesses. At a young age as a footballer, it is the ideal time for a young player to work on strengthening his weaknesses.

As for City, the improvement will become clear with time.

Zesco was in the semi finals of the champions league last year. For Africa they are a big club jare.

What else is there to add about Ikeme if not that Akpeyi would be in goal yet again?

We can talk and shout all we want but we have said it already.... alampasu and Nwokolor and Emma Daniel are the best young goalies we have right now.... but will any get the nod to start in a competitive game when Rohr has not seen them in a friendly esp. when he has Akpeyi who has kept goal against Algeria and Senegal under Rohr and also against Egypt under Siasia??

And the Kelechi matter is very important biko.... we are talking of one of Nigeria's brightest young talents in this upcoming generation. It is as important as that Gk position because whether we like it or not or you like or not... he remains our biggest goal threat and it is important we talk about his future.

No More Match Bonus – Super Eagles Players Agree To Play Remaining World Cup Qualifiers For Free

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reached agreement with players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria to play their remaining World Cup 2018 qualifiers for free to bring to an end the constant row over match bonuses.

Nigeria currently lead their World Cup 2018 Qualifiers group four points more than second placed Cameroon , who they will face in back to back games in September when the qualifiers resume.

” We (NFF) have a very good agreement with the players to ensure that row over bonus won’t break out and derail our chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Russia. To be candid we are broke, better to let the players know early ‘, a source from the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” The players understand our plight, and have agreed to play for free in the remaining games. The aim is to be at the World Cup in Russia, it will be a win win situation for the players if we make it to the World Cup especially for those who will be out of contract during the World Cup period”.

Rohr wants the best for the super Eagles.... he was behind Mikel choosing any destination as long as he got enough playing time.....

Now he is saying to Nacho.... "You have to be playing... you are one of my most trusted and finest players in this team... I need you to get playing time even as you grow...."

People think say Rohr na fool? this man knows what he wants... and he will go as far as helping his players grow and be in the best position in their clubs...

TheGoodJoe:

Iheanacho is in the best position to decide if he wants to move. If he feels he is ready and he can continue his development without Guardiola's guidance, he has my blessings. However, If Nacho notices improvement and feels he will gain more at a rapid rate staying at City, he also has my blessings.

Although I suspect Rohr wants to regularly monitor one of his star players on the pitch.

U just nailed it.

Iheanacho, if he remains at City next season, is very likely to get less game time than he is even getting this season. The World Cup is next year. Are we going to field a non-playing striker?

See, I don't care about City or Pep's philosophy.
That one concern them. I am concerned more about Rohr's philosophy and plans for the Super Eagles. If Rohr's Philosophy and plan will lead to iheanacho moving to a club that will give him playing time and also ensure his development I am OK.

We are tired of all these talks of drills without game time abeg. At this stage we should be analysing Iheanacho's goals and assists and not all these drills, drills, drills and bench talks.

Tactical Insight

Still on Julian Nagelsmann (Baby Mourinho), the coach who wants Nacho. This excerpt shows some thing about Julian Nagelsmann's philosophy. He beat Bayern Munich earlier this month playing a beautiful brand of football.

Nagelsmann's men rarely played the ball long – Oliver Baumann played out every goal kick short in the first half. Bravely and skilfully the home side opted to work their way around the tight spaces with short, quick passes.

The back three of Niklas Süle, Kevin Vogt and Benjamin Hübner worked perfectly, as did the impressive wingback pairing of Jeremy Toljan and Steven Zuber. Nagelsmann was full of praise for his winger-turned-wingback, who had to deal with Arjen Robben cutting in on his left and then Kingsley Coman using his right. "I don't know many defenders in the league who have dealt with Robben as well,” Nagelsmann said afterwards.

On the pitch, Hoffenheim delivered some of the most intelligent and impressive football the club has ever seen. Süle and Sebastian Rudy played like Bayern players as the combination of swift transitional play and aggressive defending left Robert Lewandowski with very little for very long.

Southampton are poised to join the chase for highly-rated striker Henry Onyekuru.

Celtic made a bid for the Eupen starlet in January and it's believed he was keen on a move to the Premiership champions.

But the Saints are said to be keeping tabs on a player who has improved his burgeoning reputation this season.

The 19-year-old forward has attracted rave reviews for his performances in Belgium where he has been tipped to become the country’s Player of the Year.

Onyekuru, rated at around £7million by his club, has scored 12 goals this season and his skills have led to a host of clubs keeping tabs on him.

Bournemouth, Liverpool and West Brom are also keen on the versatile Nigerian international who can play on out wide or through the middle.
