The Dellema of Intertribal/International Marriage: Among many:- =>It cause mixed geneticism. =>It causes the children to be of mixed blood, hence will not and will never stay in your heritage/place but in another mans land. =>It colludes with the freshness of nature. =>It brings about hybrid children [remember the characteristics of an hybtid fowl!] =>And plus others, it causes long distance inlaws, and relations. THIS MARRIAGE WHICH SURPOSE TO BRING PEACE IN THE WORDS OF MORTAL MAN SETS DISCORD AND ELIMINATE THE FAVOUR OF NATURE. WHEN WE CAME TO KNOW OUR SELVES AND OUR DIFFERENT PATH IN THE POWER OF NATURE THEN WE WONT BE DISTURBED BY SUCH INTERTRIBALISM ANYMORE. WHAT DO THE FOREIGN WOMAN/MAN HAVE INSIDE HIS/HER DRESS THAT YOUR OWN TRIBE DOES NOT? ITS CAUSED BY MEN WHO ARE BLIND TO DIFFERENCE, AND WHO WANT TO TASTE A DIFFERENT HOLE AFTER TASTING THAT OF THEIR ABORIGENES. Lets someone to say am wrong, please. If not, then return to your origen oh souls who need an temporal like eternal bedmate! |

Fresia01: No need to be scared dear. Let me give you a little hint in case you really love him to the point of marriage. When you meet his parents show the usual form of Yoruba respect, kneel with both knees when greeting them. Don't ever call any of his siblings by name even If you are older than them. Learn How cook Yoruba delicacies. Finally, I hope you can speak Yoruba, If not, start learning. But remember, respect and humility is key. All the best. 9 Likes |

All those saying they can't marry from another tribe, its very obvious their parents didn't do their jobs well in preaching to them about unity in diversity. It all starts and ends with the family. . if I as a father tell my children to embrace all tribes, I have don my duty as a patriot of Nigeria.. 6 Likes |

People quote cultural reasons why they cannot marry from another ethnic group, however, I observed most people in the younger generation are not well schooled in their own culture. This can be as a result of growing up in other cultural enclaves, so many Igbos grow up in Lagos and many Yorubas live in the nothern part of the country and they still want to hold on to the idea that they cannot marry outside their tribe when they themselves are no longer in their tribe. 4 Likes |

Nigerians aren't one after alll We cant live with our individual differences, Igbo will say una omo yoruba sabi dirty ennnn and Yoruba will say omo igbo can do anything just for the money. Only good Christians can deal with challenges faced in inter-tribal marriages. 1 Like |

My candid advice to the men/women that cares: do not let this so-called 'love sentiments' blindfold you into marriage. You are going into a relationship that will last for more than 40 years, so why choosing to spend that long years of marriage struggling to hold it together. There are so many more beautiful and good ladies from your tribe, so, why not choose from them and enjoy a fruitful marriage with peace. See the following: 1. if you are a yoruba man and your wife is igbo, what language did you think your child will adopt and speak fluently; certainly igbo and not yoruba. That means your child will not be able to speak your own language. 2. Your family will not have an official local dialect, except english. 3. You stand the chance of always going very far (more than 7 hours journey) whenever your partner is having a social function. Think of the transportation costs and its stress. 4. Anytime your in-laws are around, you will look like a stranger because you cannot hear them when they are discussing in their dialect.[/b] [/b] 1 Like |

(my opion dou) d advantages are endless wic i wnt b mentioning! wen it comes to love, we choose who to love n spend d rest of our lifes wit! as for me i've found mine she aint perfect but i love her every imperfection! i n her are one! 1 Like |

I am experiencing this...... first, I saw it as a problem. On a second thought, I realised it my life and I am responsible for it. I found a girl my heart loves and cares for, a friend and a companion so I decided to do things my way. If they decide not to come for the wedding..fine. I ll move on. As long as you are an independent person, this should not be a problem. There is nothing your parents or in laws will offer other than checking on your welfare. They lived their life, enjoyed I and should not dictate how you will live yours. The problem with many Nigeria parents is they don't ever understand that their children have grown and have a right to their choices. Whatever one does, as long as it contradicts their opinion and ideas... it will be seen as wrong to them. It's best to avoid them in such issues. 4 Likes |

Some of these people typing crap don't know shit about what it takes to raise and keep a family in this 21st century. BTW ,Romantic love is actually the least of the considerations for a viable and long lasting marriage. That type of love will fade very fast.there are so many pressure facing couples and marriages today, that it is often better and wiser to marry within homogeneous cultural group, there is nothing wrong with inter-ethnic marriages, just be ready to take the pressures that come with it .at the end of the day,it depends on what you want for yourself and what gives you the most peace of mind. P.s graduates who still call 40M Yorubas or 36M igbos''a tribe'',should please hand in your certificate, you don't need it.Nigerians bastadize words and concepts, tribes refer to group of peoples numbering at most in hundreds, the colonial masters invented these terminologies to keep you thinking small, what you have in Nigeria are ethnic nationalities not tribes.SMH. 4 Likes |
