How can that ever be a pure penalty when Victor Moses was already falling before the contact? It is a very clear dive. As long as Moses was on his way down before the contact, it means he went down on his own.

I marvel at your analysis sometimes

son...simply went for his leg and not the ball...
if son had touch the ball with his feet it would have been different... I guess u know more than the commentators and analysts

u first said..alli was just ordinary all through the match...his ball control bla bla was poor..
same alli I watched today played well..he was so deadly upfront

your analysis is ridden wit sentiment I think

Keep in mind that Gabriel Jesus is a natural winger converted to a forward. It is impossible for him to play as a fox in the box.
Nothing unique here really. The morden way to train strikers is to first develop them in the wings then later convert.

I think Kelechi would have developed better if he started out his Man city career as a Right winger then later converted into a striker a few years later.

Playing on the wings allows a player the liberty to take people on and polish the creative side of his game. And also develop the strength and conditioning of the said player.

Iheanacho was on that pedestal at the cadet level, unfortunately he was converted too soon to a striker in my opinion.
Martial is also suffering as a result of this. He was converted too quickly to a no9 by Man Utd.

I will have to watch more of Jesus to have a strong opinion of him. But from what I know of Firmino from his days in Germany, he was a top quality ATM /SS.

All in my opinion.

He and Sterling found it so hilarious... really crazy children undecided

Well, I believe Iheanacho is smart and knows what he wants.... He is just 20... if he sits out most games at age 20 and 21 but gets to explode at 22 and carries on the fire from there till he is in his thirties ... then fine... so be it... what is far more important I agree with Nacho and theGoodJoe is his development.... and not just Headline news....

In the longest run.... it is true deep quality that outshines other top quality... I just hope this pays off.... From now on... I am in #ObservationMode in this Iheanacho issue. No more major comments.... He is already a beast in training, as even pep attests to that.... just prays he turns that beast into world class on field or all the wait will be for nothing.... but I strongly believe and know for a fact that Nacho will become World class.... yes I said it... comman beat me if you disagree.... ntorrrrr smiley

Iheanacho ready to fight for place at Manchester City

By Oluwashina Okeleji
BBC Sport, Nigeria

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho says he is ready to fight for his place in the team, amidst competition from Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero.

The Nigeria international, 20, has scored seven goals this season but has found first-team chances harder to come by than during his debut campaign.

Despite only five Premier League starts this season, Iheanacho welcomes the extra competition and insists he is improving by playing alongside great players.

"I cannot pretend that I don't hear what people back home [in Nigeria] say about my lack of regular football but I will continue to fight," Iheanacho told BBC Sport.

"I don't worry about those comments. All I need to do is to keep working, keep doing well and keep improving every day.

"Sergio Aguero and Gabriel [Jesus] are really really great players that we need in our team.

"As a young player, I'm happy playing alongside these fantastic
because I learn and get better every day.

"It's a big thing for my career to compete with these players. I'm okay with the way things are going and I wish Gabriel a quick recovery to return and help the team."

Iheanacho scored 14 times and produced seven assists last season even though 25 of his 36 appearances were as a substitute.

That feat saw him finish as City's third-highest scorer in all competitions, behind Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne.

At international level, Iheanacho has scored five goals in eight appearances for Nigeria since making his senior debut against Swaziland in November 2015.

He starred as Nigeria won the 2013 Fifa U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates for a record fourth-time.

He emerged as the tournament's outstanding player, being voted the Most Valuable Player.

Iheanacho scored six goals to secure the Silver Boot as the competition's second-highest goal-scorer.

same thing with Mikel...
the only problem is we have no replacement for him presently in SE..because should he start sitting on the bench in SE games...
I guess he will have a rethink

how can you fight for your place in a team...when you're not given the chance to do so.....

there is a difference between fighting for your place when given the opportunity and not being given at all....

I just wanna trust Iheanacho knows what he is doing... it is his career after all... not mine... I just want the best for Nigerian football just as I dreamt of it since I was a little baby kid.

I'm not making that comparison based on their age difference although it's a huge factor. I'm doing that comparison because Brazil are excited about the prospect of producing another R9.

Ok, as a Nigerian, would you prefer Igalo or Iheanacho leading the lines in Russia?
Brazil will benefit more with the flourishing partnership of Firmino and Coutinho. World Cups have proven to be won by teams with a very close unit and relationship among players from the club level.

The nucleus of the Spanish world cup winning team was Barcelona/ Real Madrid. Germany had the nucleus of their team from Bayern Munich. Italy had Milan/Juventus/Inter forming the nucleus of their 06 winning team. I can go on....

Here is the average age of the past world cup winners from 2010 down.

1962 Brazil 30.7
2006 Italy 29.6
1934 Italy 29
1954 West Germany 28.5
1994 Brazil 28.5
1998 France 28.3
1982 Italy 27.9
1990 West Germany 27.8
2010 Spain 27.3
1974 West Germany 27.1
1930 Uruguay 27
1970 Brazil 26.9
1966 England 26.7
1986 Argentina 26.7
2002 Brazil 26.6
1958 Brazil 26.3
1938 Italy 26.2
1950 Uruguay 25.9
1978 Argentina 25.7
Total Average =27.5

From this data you can see things for yourself. Numbers don't lie.

FLEXIBLE

Jesus is in the infancy of his City career but the versatility he offers is already a notable plus. Brazil’s No 9 can play anywhere across the front three but often drifts into different pockets if he is deployed through the middle.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-4183624/Man-City-news-Gabriel-Jesus-Sergio-Aguero-work.html

Firmino can play just about anywhere from the midfield to the no 9. He has two very excellent feet, deadly from free kicks, skillful, unselfish, highly tactical. He has everything in his locker, jokes apart.

That is what Nacho gained from starting off as a ten. Although, the Vieira trained Iheanacho was sweet.

Arsenal: Alex Iwobi Must Honour His Uncle’s Call For Perseverance

Alex Iwobi has seen his position in the Arsenal squad diminish. He must now honour his Uncle’s call for perseverance and work his way back to prominence.

The development of young players is a turbulent ride. As ever with raw, unpolished, unrefined talents, they will always enjoy times of searing success, where their youthful exuberance shines through, alongside times of great struggle, where their inexperience and naivety plagues their performances.

Arsenal have experienced this on a number of occasions.

It is a reason why Arsene Wenger has grown enormously patient as he harnesses the natural talent of many of his players. He is willing to endure the times of trouble as they grow in their consistency as they age.

The latest star who is benefitting from Wenger’s tutelage with young players is Alex Iwobi.

The Nigerian burst onto the scene a little over a year ago, with a series of dynamic, direct displays, showcasing a willingness to drive at opposing defences and a guile and nous to engineer opportunities and create chances. However, more recently, struggles, as they always do, have come.

Wenger has subsequently dropped Iwobi from the first team squad, providing him with an element of protection and safety amid growing criticism from fans. And now there are suggestions that a loan departure could be the best course of action to further his career.

That is not the opinion of his Uncle, though.

Jay-Jay Okocha has stated that he believes Iwobi should stay in North London and fight for his starting role:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z7g3z8i1b8

“We can’t forget that this is his first full season in the first team and Arsenal have all their players back now. There’s a lot of competition, so it’s not easy. I think it’s better for him to stay at Arsenal, because the style of play suits him perfectly. It might not be easy for him to go on loan and adapt somewhere else. He needs to stay and fight for his shirt."

Okocha is acutely aware of the natural struggles that come with being a young player. His advice for Iwobi is simple and safe: keep working hard, be resilient and determined, show perseverance and grit, and success will come as a result.

It is now up to Iwobi to honour such demands. He is undoubtedly a talented player who, if he works hard, has a bright future ahead of him. Although his recent struggles are disappointing, they are not all that surprising, and can be worked through. It will simply take patience, resilience and whole lot of dedication.

Moses was going to ground before Son Contacted him. It is clear as daylight. The reason Victor Moses was going down before the contact is because he dived.

A lot of renound managers have said they prefer developing young players on the wing first because they develop their speed and skills out wide. I was particularly elated when I heard K. Nwakali was being developed out wide.

Jay-Jay Okocha: Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi has developed “really quickly”
By Jeorge Bird 22nd Apr 2017

Former Nigeria international Jay-Jay Okocha insists that his nephew Alex Iwobi has developed very quickly at Arsenal .

Iwobi broke into the Arsenal first-team in the second half of last season with some composed performances and, although his chances have been limited of late, the prospect remains part of the Gunners’ squad.

As reported by the Daily Mirror , ex-Bolton Wanderers star Okocha said: “Alex and I speak a lot and he is not just my nephew, but like a son to me.

“Alex has always shown signs of becoming a great player, but his development has been really quick compared to some of the young players in his youth team.

“He is not only a good player, but he has capitalised on his opportunities that he has been given more than others around him.”

An efficient distributor of the ball – he has a pass accuracy of 87% in the Premier League this season – Iwobi is well suited to Arsenal’s style of play.

However, he lacks ruthlessness in front of goal, as showcased by the fact that he has found the net just three times in the top-flight this term.

Alex Iwobi has played 22 key passes in the Premier League this season.

Iwobi hasn’t started for Arsenal since the defeat to Liverpool on 4th March and faces a battle just to get a place on the bench for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

It will be intriguing to see whether Iwobi has a major part to play for Arsenal next season, especially if manager Arsene Wenger seeks to bring in another wide player during the transfer window.

How productive has Alex Iwobi been for Arsenal?

Premier League: 37 games, five goals, six assists

Champions League: nine games, one goal, one assist

FA Cup: eight games, three assists

League Cup: three games

Alex Iwobi has completed 62% of his attempted take-ons in the Premier League this season.

Superb post. Loved the moves by Gabriel Jesus. I hope Nacho is studying Delph. Last to leave the pitch. Stayed back to do some routines.

Do you know who Guardiola was talking about that scored five goals?

The foul happened once Son went to ground and missed the ball. The rest as they say is history.

TheGoodJoe: Yara Yara, Yara Yara, Yara Yara.
Yara Yara: Yes Oga number 2
TheGoodJoe: How many times did I call your name?
Yara Yara: I forgot to add it.
TheGoodJoe: Okay, Why was Moses falling to the ground before Son touched him?
Yara Yara: Oga number 2, it is because Moses dived.
TheGoodJoe: Dismissed.

The only thing Kelechi needs now is confidence and that comes from playing regularly, which creepy Pep will not give to him. I have always seen Pep as an undercover racist just like Alex Ferguson.

The same Alex Ferguson who stayed late at night with Valencia in the hospital when Valencia injured is a racist. Continue.

Have you watched Gabriel when he's in Brazil colors?

The understanding and rhythm he strikes with Neymar is far beyond what coutinho and Firmino have going.

You also seem to forget coutinho is just finding his feet with Brazil, he's not a regular yet.

Firmino and Coutinho work day in day out at Liverpool, you must factor that in your argument.

Neymar and Jesus will be facing more solid teams in Russia than they faced at the Olympics. The World Cup is a different ball game trust me.

Coutinho and Firmino combo is more tried, tested and trusted playing for Liverpool in the Premiership with Champions league football in view next season. It will be interesting to watch them Light up the world cup.

Yes it took a while before Brazil recognised Coutinho's talent but he has grabbed his chance with both hands over the past 2 years. There's always a time for everyone to shine. This is his time and he's been proving to be dependable so far.
