Great people! Always on point!! Pls house, am in dilemma. Can I use my husband and sisters husband as sponsors instead of using my sister directly as her SOA isn't fat enough? Do u think the VO may frown at d idea as to why she is not in the picture? Thank you, as I await ur responses. |

StCruz247:from mi research, most of those skls don't easily give admission to international students as they are not open to them, n MPH is one of dem as well as co-op programs. She can apply for related courses like community and population health Saskatchewan, Clinical epidemiology in Uni of Newfoundland n Labrador, mental health . I know ppl that applied to more than 5sklz fr MPH n none worked. All those good courses they don't usually give it out like that, good tin is she can change course once she alrdy in d program. However , all hope is not lost as she may just be lucky! I will also advice that when u open their site u should scan through list of courses open to international students so u don't waste ur time and money. 1 Like |

Pls house! Must I submit my Uni transcript to the embassy fr visa application? Just wondering how long it will take to gt there as they don't give student's copy and my skl can take upto 2mnths. I was also thinking of telling my school(in Canada)to forward the copy sent to them from my alma mater to the embassy cos I really don't have time. Is ds a crazy idea? Thank you for your reply. |

Sugaro: The bold is not compulsory if you don't have a student copy that you can submit, a copy of your certificate is enough for you to submit as academic doc. I have never seen anyone refused Bcox he/she did not submit transcript. Do well to submit photocopy of your certificate. 2 Likes |

Good morning gurus in the house, am about submitting my study permit application hence I need someone to help me assess my chances. Was offered Systems Design Engineering (MEng) by University of Waterloo to resume by fall term. I want to sponsor myself because I really don't want to bug anyone with my issues, don't want anyone to feel like they have a stake in my life. I currently have 38,000CAD in my account which is wholly mine with two landed properties well documented in my name worth 7m. My tuition is 8020CAD per term with incidental fee of 637CAD. Finished from the university in 2015, completed NYSC this month, have been officially employed twice since i finished school and i have worked as an engineer in those period. What are my chances 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Eraytee: 6:44am On Apr 23, 2017 |
RealObserver:With the said amount I think you have a good chance if the accumulated funds have a source and not a lump sum, since u are self sponsored, i think with my calculation your tuition for 2yrs would b around 32kCAD if 8kCAD is ur tuition per semester; you need extra 20kCAD for your living expenses for 2yrs as instructed by IRCC wch i cant see in your said amount above, its always good to show full access to tuition for the whole program if you are a self sponsored applicant, remember they dont expect you to be working while studying, so u must be able to show your tuition fees for the 2yrs plus living expenses for 2yrs to avoid "insufficient funds to complete program in canada" just package your application well with reasonable sop and do your calculation well and av the funds stated above, Gods grace u'll get ur trv. |

Austinpee4: Please in my offer letter all these we're written , ROOM:6,831.95-9,538.48, book:600, student fee:410, personal expense:3,000. what should I fill as room, board and others. ALSO, what will be my total fund available for study. Is it going to be fund for all the 2yrs course or just for a yr, or the total money in my account as I am making use of co-sponsor and the money for the whole program has been transferred to me. Thank you. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 7:18am On Apr 23, 2017 |
RealObserver:There are some factors to also consider while deciding to sponsor yourself. 1. The duration of your program 2. Availability of funds to cover the entire program. If your program is a 2years program and anything between 3 to 4 terms, then I'm afraid the 38,000 CAD will be INSUFFICIENT. For the first year alone of your program, you should have a minimum of 2 terms which = 8020*2 =16,040CAD + 10,000CAD=26,000CAD 2nd year should be around same fiqure, so your total funds for your entire program of 2years should be 52,000CAD! and since you are SELF SPONSORED, You have to either should show the equivalent of liquid funds for the entire program or show a source to generate funds for the second year of your program. Your landed properties evaluation is not LIQUID funds and will ONLY serve as hometies. So, depending on the length of your program(guessing it's 2 years), do well to either show funds for your tuition an living expenses for the 2years or get a SPONSOR and show funds for a year. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Eraytee: 7:32am On Apr 23, 2017 |
Austinpee4:exactly my point, you have said it all, if am in his shoes, i'd get a sponsor and pay my tuition myself for a yr. that settles it cox your sponsor doesn't not need to pay a dime, all that is needed is the supporting docs from sponsor. with this funds issue would be covered successfully. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mcobex: 7:35am On Apr 23, 2017 |
Sugaro:yes u can use both of them and the vo won't frown at it, but ur sister's husband will have to convince the vo in his letter of support and let him show commitment by paying either ur tuition fee or send his own support (cash) to ur bank account, in the case of ur husband he can also do same (but the vo won't be too strict on him cos u being his wife is enough reason for him to sponsor u). hope am able to answer ur question? the gurus in the house can explain more on it |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by RealObserver(m): 7:37am On Apr 23, 2017 |
Eraytee: Thanks a lot for your insight bro, my course will last just 3 terms which is like 25k CAD for both incidental and tuition fee, then 20k for living expenses. So am just 7k CAD short of the needed cash, I thought the landed properties will cover for that, besides am building a house in one which I May complete before December this year, I've gotten to roofing level, will that one convince them. Besides this VO's nor dey pity person sef? Them think say na so e easy for Nigeria ... just kidding though |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 7:40am On Apr 23, 2017 |
honeyscottage:You should fill accordingly. Room=max value(9,538.48) Book, student fees and personal expenses =others. i.e 600+410+3000=4010. Funds available should be TUITION+ROOM+OTHERS( add btw 1000-2000CAD for transportation funds and miscellenous) You should be fine. The 10,000CAD required from CIC is a one time figure for living expenses. The breakdown has shown how it will be expended. I'll also advice you have alittle more in your SOA than you declare as FUND available. You are to fill in figures for the FIRST YEAR since you have a sponsor. Regards. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mcobex: 7:43am On Apr 23, 2017 |
ohizzyy7:the 2nd option(FRSC NYSC cert) is better. but that will leave u with another year to cover up for (cos I want to believe the NYSC was between 2015-2016 ) but if it's 2016 -2017 then u are good to go with ur 2nd option |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Osemigho: 7:49am On Apr 23, 2017 |
Hiccups: 1: #500,000. Don't accept PhD that is without funding sufficient for tuition and average living expenses for one person. 2: admission or visa chances? If admission, I have no idea of your profile. However, high CGPA and paper publication(s) in reputable journal give you higher chances. Your target places have highly ranked schools, I will add other schools to the list, if I were you. If visa, ok. 1 Like |

Austinpee4: Thanks boss, for coming to my rescue. My program will last just 3 terms and I'll go for a minimum of two internships because at Waterloo they run 3 terms in a year, hence I can decide to go for my internship during my second term to cover these cost. To be very honest with you, getting a sponsor is a big deal for me, my dad is late and my mom doesn't have any means of steady flow of income because she runs a shop that trends with the economy if you know wat i mean. And if you talk of relatives that's even worse off, a favour like this will mean me being enslaved and indebted to them all my life. That's why I've been saving for this. Besides I don't want to use someone who doesn't share thesame surname with me, it doesn't even makes sense to me, if I were a VO I'd reject such applications in a heartbeat. So I'll try and make it 45k CAD before I apply next month. Once again thanks for saving me from the shrapnel of "insufficient funds" 7 Likes |

RealObserver:if ur intended program is related to ur UG program then u are good to go, but bro I will advice (man to man) that u use a co-sponsor in ur application(they don't have to spend any dime on u) cos from my calculation if ur program is a 2yr program ur tuition will be 32,080k + 20k (10k/yr living expenses) tgat will be 52k (which u don't have now ) though u are suppose to provide funds for one year but u never can tell where these vo's will want to tackle u from (cos to them u at entry suppose to work at all while schooling ). just use someone as ur co-sponsor with u being the main sponsor and fire |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Eraytee: 7:53am On Apr 23, 2017 |
RealObserver: the landed property can only stand as hometie, its never a liquid cash just as @Austinpee4 said earlier. its either you get a sponsor or try figure out the funds if you are going to be self sponsored, try to pay part of your fees to show commitment cox just showing this fund and not paying part of your tuition might not convince the VO enough as u are self-sponsored, den no too trust Nigerians. |
