bro I will be straight forward with u as a friend on NL, cad26k is over #6mil by the time u add cad10k (around #2.4mil) that will amount to over #8mil (which is more than what ur sponsor have in his account ),I want to also believe u aren't the only dependant to ur sponsor . NB: pls let's me mindful of the schools we pick, we should try and get enough info about the tuition of our proposed school before applying as that will save us this kind of stress. if u can get a co-sponsor with around the same amount it might PASS. gurus in the house might have other views sha. thanks
I second u, people shd knw why searching for SCH 2 tins shd be considered, 1.the program and course 2. Sch fees, must not be on d high side, God will help us

That's a very strong cgpa, Toronto and UBC do have some competitive programs so again look into that, UBC usually publishes admission statistics so that might help you get an idea of your admissibility. I think for PhD a publication record can go a long way but if you don't have this a record of research activity would help, usually publication requirements would be included as part of the admission requirement's if it is essential. If it isn't mentioned then i think it would depend on your supervisors perception

Thank you. I'm attracted to these two because Computer Science Postgraduate at all levels don't require GRE, besides their reputation in IT

the 2nd option(FRSC NYSC cert) is better. but that will leave u with another year to cover up for (cos I want to believe the NYSC was between 2015-2016 ) but if it's 2016 -2017 then u are good to go with ur 2nd option
thanks bro

Thanks boss, for coming to my rescue.

My program will last just 3 terms and I'll go for a minimum of two internships because at Waterloo they run 3 terms in a year, hence I can decide to go for my internship during my second term to cover these cost.

To be very honest with you, getting a sponsor is a big deal for me, my dad is late and my mom doesn't have any means of steady flow of income because she runs a shop that trends with the economy if you know wat i mean. And if you talk of relatives that's even worse off, a favour like this will mean me being enslaved and indebted to them all my life. That's why I've been saving for this.

Besides I don't want to use someone who doesn't share thesame surname with me, it doesn't even makes sense to me, if I were a VO I'd reject such applications in a heartbeat.

So I'll try and make it 45k CAD before I apply next month.

Once again thanks for saving me from the shrapnel of "insufficient funds"
I understand bro. It's a good idea to get the full funds before applying. It will place you well. All the best to you.

Hey everyone. I have two questions.

First I have discussed with the leader of my religious organisation who is willing to provide a letter stating I had been active in said organization during my study gap of 10 month's which I hope should strengthen my application. How should this letter be addressed.

Second. I once worked in a research lab as a student for three months during the long holiday, this was not a paid position and was considered "research experience" and not employment. This experience is very related to my field of study and I would like to include it in the study permit questionnaire as work experience and also in my CV. However I'm not sure if I should list it as employment as I was not technically paid and it wasn't an employer\employee relationship.

1.The letter should state your role and capacity in the religious organisation. What both the organisation and yourself gained during your active time and also how it has improved your personality and human relationships.

2. Ofcourse you should. Fill your role and the organisation name. Fill in as "internship". It will count towards activity in your intended field. The listing of employment records is to show activities in the last 10 years. The more it relates to your intended program, the better the chances.

I'm assuming @bold is from your school. If so, the cost and option is to cater for students coming with a family to study and those coming alone.

Since you are not going with your family, you should choose the single option.

Note: please declare your marital status in any official form (IRCC or your school).

Meaning no payment is due in 2019 so I have to show a years tuition. I also wrote 10,000 under board and 4000 for others. Under fund available what will it be considering that I have paid 15,000 deposit out of the tuition.

I am using my husband as sponsor with company acct of 10M balance and he has transferred 13,000USD to my acct that will cover board and others. So what is left is 19,000 cad.

whta is my available fund and hope I have sufficient fund.

You are to fill the exact tuition on your letter of admission. If the tuition on your offer is 34,000CAD ,then fill it in the section for tuition irrespective of when it is due.

Your funds available will be equivalent of your Tuition(on admission letter) + 10,000CAD + 4000 or more.

The 15,000CAD you paid already is inclusive in your tuition calculated as funds available because you will show it in form of the payment reciept showing fund is domiciled already in canada.

To the issue of company account, i want to believe your husband is the sole signatory. Anyway, most significant thing is that he transferred a good amount to your account already.

In summary, make sure the total funds (paid and in your account) amount to the funds available as declared.

A permit authorizing your studies will be issued to you on your arrival to Canada following an examination by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency, subject to your compliance with the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations. The officer will ask to see this letter, your passport and may request to see your supporting documents, such as the letter of acceptance from your educational institution
I just wanna confirm something bro, Did you touched down at the province your school is exactly, Hope their won't be a problem at the POE, If one was admitted at a university in Nova Scotia but decided to drop at Ontario?

Pls just to be double sure, in my case I have two sponsors, and do I also need to print my statement of account to show the transferred fund as evidence of sponsor's commitment? (that would mean 3 SOA in total)

It will be difficult to convince a visa officer using an offshore account and sponsorship. It can scale through if your sister transfers the money to you in nigeria or send the funds to your student account in canada.

The idea of sponsorship really is not about the capacity of the sponsor but accessibility of the funds by the applicant who will be studying in canada. The more this appears good enough, an application will always be approved. It always will be about the applicant and every surrounding situation concerning comfortability during study in canada.

Not advisable, is better you fly direct to the city your school is located to avoid unnecessary questioning.

Congratulations brother on your admission on University of Alberta. Please, which start date are going for? and when did you apply? B/C I wish to apply now for winter start term.
Fall 2017.
The application was done in December 2016.
I don't think my program (Masters in Public Health) has openings for winter 2018, unless you are applying to a different program

Thank you for your reply.

1. To be honest I have not been THAT active in the organisation, to state a particular role and capacity would be asking the leader to lie grin. I believe the letter will simply state that I have been an active member in the organisation during the period of the gap and of good character which I hope will be sufficient for the VO as I will simply say I have been an active member of the church during this period assisting wherever necessary. I do also intend to add other activities for the gap s I hope the above would be okay...

2. I will do, in the study permit quastionnaire where it asks me to mention the income gained from this job would it be okay to simply state 0 as it wasnt paid?
1. Okay. That's still fine.

2. I don't think there is a part of the questionaire where one has to fill in the amount of income. Make sure you are using the correct one for Nigerian applicants.

Why choose to drop at Ontario first are u taking a transit flight dat has a stopover at Ontario, if, no issue, but if u are going to Ontario jst to chil b4 going to Nova Scotia and it not suppose 2 b ur route, u will ve to speak much grammar at d point of entry, so my advice if not a transit flight dat has a stopover dere, don't risk it.
