I personally called for a foreign coach last time reason because of indigenous coaches biased selection.. the pep guardiola of Africa almost spoil my eyes with his style of play...being that the team was filled wit his boys and those who graduated from his elder brother's academy...other coaches have done same too 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Nobody is encouraging such. But the reality is this is a country where you are expected to deliver against all odds even with limited resources. We experience these kind of challenges especially when you work in the public sector. It is not alien to us Nigerians. Words like "people have managed to succeed under such conditions in the past so why is your case different?" I work in the public sector I know what I am talking about. |

Please, Odey whatever you do.... don't move to another team in Africa..... it has to be Europe.... Belgium preferably.... haba naa..... who is this boy's agent sef?? ...................................................................................................... Exclusive : NPFL Top Scorer Stephen Odey Turn Down Genk Trial Offer Top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Stephen Odey has turned down an offer of trial from Belgium side Genk in the summer. Odey was invited by the team for trails in the summer, but the 19 year old who is currently the top scorer in the NPFL with 14 goals for MFM FC rejected their offer. ”He won’t be attending trials anywhere in Europe. Not only in Belgium, we also got offers from Denmark but we won’t take any of them. Genk were most serious but Odey won’t be going for trial”, a source close to the player told Owngoalnigeria.com. ”The one thing I can tell you is that he will most likely leave in the summer. Talks with some teams are already at an advanced stage, unless an offer comes in from Europe, he will most likely move to a top team in Africa. ”His manager has made it clear, he wants to cash in on his form to help him move abroad but at the same time, It’s not just about going abroad, it’s about getting the right deal for the player who still needs to develop further “. **Daniel Martins Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/26/exclusive-npfl-top-scorer-stephen-odey-turn-down-genk-trial-offer/ |

Troost-Ekong Dazzles For Gent Despite Late Inclusion In Starting Line-Up, Madu Impresses, Simon Shines Super Eagles of Nigeria and Gent of Belgium defender William Troost Ekong put in a strong performance for Gent in their 2-0 win over Zulte Waregem in the Belgium Play-Off. Ekong was originally named on the bench, but was included in the starting line up after Stefan Mitrovic injured himself during the warm up, few minutes to kick off. The Nigerian didn’t look out of place despite knowing he will be playing few minutes before kickoff. He was his usual dominant self especially in aerial duels where he neutralised the threat of Zulte-Waregem dangerman Mbaye Leye. His Nigerian counterpart at Gent, Moses Simon was on from the start but didn’t finish the game despite showing flashes of his undoubted potentials. The other Nigerians at the club Rabiu Ibrahim and Samuel Kalu were unused substitutes while Esiti wasn’t listed. Super Eagles deputy left back Kingsley Madu also impressed for Zulte-Waregem, with his forays upfront causing Gent all sort of troubles, while his defending was also top notch. Aliko Bala Madu’s teammate at Zulte-Waregem wasn’t listed for action. **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/26/troost-ekong-dazzles-for-gent-despite-late-inclusion-in-starting-line-up-madu-impresses-simon-shines/ 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Hen. My people say make hay when it is sunny. You are declining a trial at Genk. I may sound mean but I am sorry to say that this may even be the peak of his career. There are so many uncertainties in football. Some players peak early (most NPFL strikers) some peak late. Now that you are hot make that move. You are looking for a team that will not invite you for trials. Abi una dey fear trials ni? Make his case no go end with "had I known o". 1 Like |

Chelsea In Pole Position Ahead Of Man City To Sign AFC Wimbledon's Nigerian Wonderkid Premier League pacesetters Chelsea have leapfrogged Manchester City in the race to sign AFC Wimbledon whizkid Toyosi Olusanya, according to reports in the British press. The Blues have stepped up their pursuit of the winger by inviting him for trials with a view to a contract, the Mirror has reported. Olusanya was a hit when The Dons faced Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup in February 2016, and a loan move had been mooted before he was invited for tests. Born in London 19 years ago, he made his professional debut for the first team of AFC Wimbledon against Newport County in May of last year, and needed only seven minutes to score the only goal of the match after he was introduced in the 73rd minute. Olusanya started off his career with MASS FC, before spells at Palace Guard FC and AFC Wimbledon. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Photo Credit : afcwimbledon.co.uk Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=22842 1 Like |

Nigeria: Bombshell! Enyeama Won't Captain Eagles Again - Rohr Vincent Enyeama of Nigeria saves a close range shot. Coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr won't be stripping John Obi Mikel as captain of the team even if former captain Vincent Enyeama returns to the team. Enyeama's possible return to the team has been severally discussed due to doubts surrounding the fitness of first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who could miss the rest of the season owing to an injury picked up three weeks ago. Speaking on the issue, Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana said Rohr told him, he has met with Enyeama and among other stuffs discussed, he told the former captain who quit the team in controversial circumstances, that he has to respect the structure of the team the way it is now. "So, do some people feel that Enyeama cannot come back and realised that things have changed?. Surely he would like to to a fourth World Cup?, Rohr wants him back, because he has told me that", Osasu said. "But on condition that he is ready to accept the place and role that he, Rohr, gives him. Enyeama still our best goalkeeper. I think that is not in doubt, right? ". Icon4s: Nigerian teams have been treated poorly but this set was the worst. As for Kelechi Nwakali, that is on Wenger, not him. As I said before, Arsene Wenger has lost it when it concerns youth development. What stops him from working with Kelechi, even if the youngster is on the bench. He should have helped the young man secure a work permit to keep him working with the Arsenal coaches. |

Keep your chin up, bro. We all know that Arsene Wenger is trying to escape goat you for all his failures. They would always pick an African as the escape goat. Kanu Nwankwo would tell you more if you can reach out to him....he's been through all that! Hopefully, Iwobi can request a transfer in the summer. I would like him join a team like Everton, where Ronald Koeman can nature and develop his game. Arsene Wenger ain't it any more....he has lost his mojo! O pari TheSuperNerd: |

I thought this friendly match was being used to prepare for our games against South Africa and Cameroun? Why then are they talking about a November date - long after our two most important games? We need games in June to help Rohr try out a few new players to incorporate into the team. The people running our football are really bizarre, folks! O pari TheSuperNerd: |

TheSuperNerd: The top scorer in Nigeria should not have to go on trial. Hw already turned down a deal from Russia at the start of the season. Not so in love with the African idea but he should look at only serious offers. He has played on live tv more than anyone else, what else do they want to see? 1 Like |

Icon4s: If you bring a coach in newly to a club, you see him wanting new recruits that suits his philosophy. However, if a coach stays with a team for a while, he hardly makes changes. Basic footie logic. If you hire a coach for the U20, if he is new, he will go looking for new players. If it is a coach that has worked with a team for a year or two, he can hardly make drastic changes. A coach working with a team will hardly make changes. We have done the approach of calling the best youngsters available like in the case of Nigeria 99 and crashed out in the quarters. Manu Garba's set won the AYC and crashed out also in the same stage. So why blame continuity on us not winning the World Youth Championship? |
